Marxism of Biblical proportions? He likes the mixed metaphors doesn't he? Well, it sounds almost as if it means something.

Marxism of biblical proportions? I have read the Bible and Marxism is not mentioned once.

I love how he tells his audience to "do their homework," cause if anyone actually did, they would stop watching his madhouse of a show immediately.

      Great joke, Glenn.

"do their homework" basically means setting their little orphan annie decoder rings to A-7 and listen for the super secret message during tonight's broadcast.

It is sad his listeners believe such crap and are oblivious to constitutional law and the Unite States Supreme Court. Much like Beck himself, no formal education.

That really is the key...Beck's lack of education. Apparently he reads a lot but but has no academic foundation required to comprehend what he's reading. It's funny sometimes to listen to this guy...it's almost like listening to a put-on.

Right, only academics from the likes of harvard could possibly understand the nuances of the constitution. So the rest of us should look to academia to tell us want it all means cause we're just too stupid to understand.

That's not what Irony said. Beck is an uneducated man who spouts nonsense which has absolutely no basis in fact or substance. He may read, but he doesn't have the educational background to comprehend. It doesn't take an academic from Harvard to understand the Constitution, but it does take a basic educational background. Beck has none. He is a man who may or may not have graduated from high school [originally, it was reported that he was a high school dropout] . . . he spent the majority of his life being a zoo radio DJ. He got a good gig and now, he's playing it to the hilt.

Next time Beck spouts off some inanity about the Constitution or something he says relates to the "founding fathers," look it up. I guarantee you that it won't have any relation to what is actually in the Constitution. See, Beck is banking on people not checking his nonsense. It's not about real beliefs to him, it's about money and fame. It's his schtick.

Common sense and critical thinking skills can also be used in place of formal education. Sometimes they're even better. Beck counts on his audience having none of these, which makes Oldcon's predictable "elitism" reflex even more meaningless.

Funny that of all the reference books and authoritative texts, hardly any are ever written by your average man-on-the-street.

Wouldn't it be interesting to find out what percentage of Blecch's audience actually DOES any research or cross-referencing regarding anything Blecch says?

                I'll bet it's less than 1%.

                As a lifetime aggregate.

                  Generous estimate.

Just to clarify, I didn't mean that a formal education wouldn't be useful in, say, interpreting technical data or understanding historical documents, only that a Harvard education isn't necessary to see that Beck is an ignorant clown.

That should be obvious to somebody with even a below-average level of walking-around brains.

Yeah, I wasn't being critical of your "critical thinking skills" statement, even though - after re-reading it - it seemed like I was. Remember, I'm a lefty, so I can discern such statements and apply them to the intended context.

Critical thinking skills and common sense would provoke your average sane Blecch viewer to ponder "why?", "how?", and "when?" while listening to his bile, and eventually recognize that the answers to those perfectly legitimate questions are NEVER answered.

It's funny that someone whose fact-checking is so flawed should advise people to read up on the constitution.

He speaks "founding fathers", "constitution" etc etc like mantras, knowing that not only does *he* not understand and appreciate them, his audience doesn't either.

He shows me again that he has no beliefs, only talking points.

I think he finally figured out that his use of Thomas Paine was bogus. Paine would have HATED the ideology professed by Beck.

If Beck's viewers actually read the Constitution and the writings of the "founding fathers," they will see what a fraud this man is and they will no longer watch him.

You may also notice how determinedly he stays away from specifics. He always spouts these diatribes spun by intersecting generalities and inferences, with nothing in the way of examples or supporting ideas. Seems he ends up pulling shoelaces out of his teeth whenever he attempts to get into specifics.

Beck is no more than a droning 4th of July speech directed by Hitchcock and orated by Vincent Price.

With every Democratic win. With every step this nation takes toward equality among the people. Every time this nation does anything that does NOT enrich the already wealthy... Glenn Beck slips that much closer to losing what is left of his mind!!

I for one can't wait to watch his final meltdown in 2012 when Obama gets reelected... if he doesn't snap as a result of the Democrats taking an even bigger majority in the Congress in 2010 by then?

If this is a speed bump, and this will only slow down the trip to Marxism, then Beck is saying that Marxism is inevitable.

I ran through the bible this morning. This was all I could find:

Romans 11-03.1 Application of 22 Cubit Speed Bump

      A. ROAD CLASSIFICATION-22 cubit speed bumps are limited for use on local service roads and village collector paths only, as described in Romans chapter 3 verse 9 of the Comprehensive Plan.

      B. PREVAILING SPEEDS- 22 cubit speed bumps shall be most appropriate for road sections with 85th percentile speeds between 3 (pedestrian & ass) and 5mph (solo pedestrian). 22 cubit bumps shallt not be used on road sections with 85th percentile speeds less than 3 mph, except when the road sections be on primary crucifixion parade routes. The provision of 22 cubit speed bumps on road sections with 85th percentile speeds greater than 5 mph shall be based on thine careful evaluation of thy road section, land-use, chariot-type, leprosy concentrations, etc..

22 cubit speed bumps shallt not be used on road sections with an 85th %-ile speed of 10 mph or greater.

Romans 11-03.2 Design of 22 cubit Speed Bump

      A. SHAPE-Thy 22-cubit long vertical cross-section of thine 22 cubit speed bump, measured in the direction of traffic flow, shall consist of a 10 cubit horizontal platform, 3-etzba' in height which transitions at both ends to existing dirt level by way of 6-cubit parabolic curves, as detailed in Corinthians chapter 3 verse 180 of Jerusalem's Standard Construction Specifications.

      B. SIGNING AND MARKINGS-22 cubit speed bumps shall be accompanied by appropriate signing and pavement markings in lamb's blood as detailed in Corinthians chapter 3 verse 180 of thy Jerusalem's Standard Construction Specifications.

Romans 11-03.3 Placement of 22 cubit Speed Bump

The Lord thy God willing, 22 cubit bumps shall be located at least 100 cubits from the closest intersecting curb or aquaduct.

Thanks, Neon. There was some confusion upthread about the Biblical proportions referring to Marxism, when it was obviously referring to the big-azz speed bumps mentioned so frequently in the Bible's building codes and standards.

Some versions leave out the addendum detailing specs, which includes important details about easements on the Road to Damascus, and drainage requirements for the path to redemption.

The real speed bump in the road to Marxism occurred when we were set free from the neo-conservative hold over our government. Neo-conservatism is based upon the teachings of Leon Trotsky, a Marxist. one article, but there are many, many more

And on the eighth day, the Lord said "Let there be ROADS, and on those roads as they strentch far and wide, there shall be POTHOLES."

And on the Nineth Day, the Lord created PARKIG LOTS, so that the roads may be well-travelled, and in those parking lots he put SPEED BUMPS, so that no one should go to fast in their toils.
