So just to make sure I have this right, Fox News always lies unless their lie supports your opinion then it is gospel (I'm sorry if I offended any atheists with the word gospel) I mean then it is unvarnished truth? That's pretty handy

Is it true that when Sarah and Scott leave their respective spouses for each other FOX has offered them their own reality TV show? ;>)

I'll say this - coakley obviously ran a poor campaign. She called schilling a yankee fan, spell her own state incorrectly and took an actual vacation after the primaries. But i believe that this election was about both coakley and the lack of real progress in washington. It cannot be ignored that congress has been debating this one issue for about a year now and the bill still hasnt even been passed. They have accomplished little else even with the so called "super-majority." I think people are angry that nothing is getting done and some may be taking their anger of washington out on coakley but either not voting or voting for brown. Brown also clearly ran an excellent campaign but the lack of any real change in washington and the lack of obama standing up for things like the public option and failure to regulate the bonuses after huge bailouts really did seem to impact this election.

I agree. If anything, Obama has been timid. I think many Americans don't like the healthcare bill because it doesn't go far enough. All this talk about "socialized medicine" is just that -- talk. The bill doesn't change anything fundamentally.

This result is not surprising -- and I expect more of the same in Nov. A first term president typically loses seats in the Congress in the mid-term elections.

And so much for the baseless fear mongering by the Right on how the Democrats, and ACORN, etc., were going to "steal" this election.

Old55-- The bill doesn't change anything fundamentally.

I would rather hear that the bill could have an affect on all those who are un-insured, but you're right. Those people can get health care when they need it making the 'national health care' bill unnecassary. Unless you're a flaming liberal who just wants more government involvement into personal lives.

The election was in Mass. You don't "steal" elections there, you "buy" them. How do you think Kennedy stayed in power so long?

Floyd, you ass, there are plenty of people who CAN'T get health care when they need it, not without going bankrupt. It effectively puts the whole family in a sh1thole.

I get cancer = my family is screwd even if I survive.

This election certainly is more of a referendum than the governor elections earlier this year that fox kept pushing as referendums.

It's NOT a referendum on healthcare reform, it's a referendum AGAINST Obamacare which ISN'T healthcare reform.

      tort reform
      award caps
      interstate purchase of insurance
      get away from medicare
stop being stupid, do real stuff or quit

        Get away from Medicare?

Talk about being stupid. The first member of congress that shows support for this, and every member who would support it, would lose his or her next race even if they ran against Charles Manson.

Why would it be about health care? Massachusetts already has the most liberal health care in the country. It is more liberal than the present bill in Congress. If this vote was to derail national health care reform, it is a big "F--- You" to the rest of the country. It would be the old "I've got mine, the hell with the rest of you!"

If it is against the entire idea of health care reform, can we expect Massachusetts' voters to repeal their own state's health care system?

You just don't get it... It's not AGAINST the idea of healthcare reform. It's against OBAMACARE which is NOT healthcare reform as most Mass. voters realize....

        tort reform
        award caps
        interstate competition
        stop cutting medicare
stop with the special interest support, ie. unions, big pharma, big healthcare etc...
Try a little honesty - 40% of the health insurance companies are non-profit...

hmmm.... This would be a start in the right direction
