Women are not psychotic, but we might be hard for a psychotic to understand. As to the other assessment: Food, sex, sleep but it's okay not to mention going to the bathroom which explains why you are so full of sh...poo. This bothers me to no end, but I agree with Glenn that Brown's pitch about his daughters was hard to understand. I found it creepy.

Given the treatment of his ex-wife, and how he has treated some of his female callers, Glenn isn't joking. I have seen women make the occasional male bashing joke, but they do it only when they know that it will be understood as an affectionate joke. There is very little done by Glenn with either humor or affection.

Half the time I get the door for the guy. It should be whoever gets there first, or whoever needs help opening the door. I like men, but occasionally, I fail to understand some of them, and jokes that I might make have to do with that lack of understanding. I do not think that men are stupid or psychotic just because I don't understand them. And that is the difference. Glenn doesn't like women. He doesn't like men very much, either, but he really dislikes women, especially middle-aged women. He has mother issues, still.

I used to be, listened to him every morning . . . even watched his HLN show from time to time UNTIL he aired a disgustingly blatant racist comedy video. I wrote to CNN, I'm sure I wasn't the only one. A few weeks later, it was announced that he was moving to Fox.

This man isn't a conservative and he's laughing at you folks who are defending him here on this site. He cares about only money and fame. Your blind loyalty to this man is quite frightening. You don't even understand that YOU are the ones he is laughing at . . . you believe his crap, so he just keeps shoveling more and more and more. Beck doesn't scare me, but you guys do. Have a good one. Oh, and I hope you don't miss Beck tonight for your daily dose of BS.

Actually, I think Glenn fits the description rather well.

People suffering from psychosis are said to be psychotic.

People experiencing psychosis may report hallucinations or delusional beliefs, and may exhibit personality changes and thought disorder. This may be accompanied by unusual or bizarre behavior, as well as difficulty with social interaction and impairment in carrying out the daily life activities.

Certanly sounds like Glenn to me.

Why are conservative commentators allowed to get away with this?

What if Rachel Maddow said, "Men are psychos"?

Just imagine the explosive reaction that would generate from Limbaugh/Hannity/Beck.

Exactly Maineiac. They know exactly what Beck was (or more importantly, wasn't) saying. These people make their living off of "out of context" quotes and trying to fish for ways to take conservatives down. Especially Beck. Thel loathe him, especially since their little "effort" to get him off of the air went flop. Beck has million upon millions of viewers and supporters. The subscriber count for this little hate-mongering, wannabe-important web site is a drop in the bucket compared to Beck and it drives them crazy. But the reason no one takes them seriously is because of posts like this very one about Beck supposedly speaking bad about women, when every reasonable person knows it was satire.

I don't "bash" anyone, critical remarks based upon fact are not "bashing." No jokes are necessary about Sarah Palin . . . her own actions and statements make her a joke. When Tina Fey parodied Palin . . . the majority of the script was based upon Palin's own words. That's not sexism. Sexism is denying a woman's legitimacy based solely upon her gender.

                Nice try, though.

Actually what we hate, is hate radio/tv.

If Glenn was know for the occassional satire among his in depth analysis of current events, it might be different.

Since just about every show is about a conspiracy theory, etc he shouldn't be taken seriously except for those "millions on millions" of viewers, who take him at his word.

              Let's see.

William Ray "Bill" Engvall, Jr. (born July 27, 1957) is an American comedian best known for his work as a stand-up comic and as a member of the Blue Collar Comedy group. In 2007 TBS began airing his sitcom The Bill Engvall Show. He has released multiple comedy albums on Warner Bros. Records as well.

Glenn Lee Beck (born February 10, 1964) is an American radio and television host, author, conservative political commentator, and entrepreneur. He is the host of The Glenn Beck Program, a nationally-syndicated talk-radio show that airs throughout the United States on Premiere Radio Networks.

Looks like a false equivalence to me. One is a commedian, the other a political commentator.

If I were to compare Jon Stewart to David Brinkley, as if they were both reporting the news, it would be the same as what you are trying to do.

I mention Engvall because of the type of humor. No other reason.

There are plenty of male comedians who do a 'women are nuts' schtick. And everyone laughs...men and women.

Again, your sense of humor has been stolen from you.

Actually, I fully understood what you meant.
You may find Engvall's humor funny, I might not.

                  Beck is not a comedian.
I don't even need to ask any of the women I work with how they feel about something like this, since they have pointed out already that they feel this type of "humor" is inappropriate.

The difference is Bill Engvall is a commedian and makes a living out of using satire. Besides making jokes about his wife and kids is not the same as calling all women psychos. Glenn Beck on the other hand is a political commentator and does not make a living out of telling jokes and using satire.

Here is something I have always brought up about Beck, and I think you really ought to consider this when making your "comedy" comparison:

Beck's sense of humor clashes too often with his attempt at sincerity. If he is going to be humorous about things, he should be calling himself a comedian. However, if he is going to try to be funny in some segments, serious in others, and downright venomous in others, then he is no longer a comedian.

That's the main problem. If progressives and liberals take his words to be serious, then he claims they are humor. However, if conservatives take his words to be serious, he treats them as serious matters.

He has to call himself a comedian or call himself a pundit. He can't be both.

Why do you wingnuts always resort to the argument that "Fox's ratings are higher, so they must be correct" into a discussion when you have no other leg to stand on? First of all "no one watches Maddow" is false. MSNBC is second to FOXNews in the time slots that covers Olberman's and Maddow's shows. And if Rachel said something like that on her show, the right would jump down her throat calling her an angry or militant lesbian.

When it comes to Rush, if he has that many viewers (I haven't ever checked) it isn't a question of how many listen, it is proof that quantity doesn't equal quality. Most of Rush's audience is undereducated white, unhappy men. They are entitled to their opinions, but it makes their choices dubious.

Brown was just elected, and already he's gaffed.

It just gives me real heartfelt joy just knowing how upset and whiny the far left gets over an obvious self deprecating bit of humour from Beck and the biggest majority of the commentators here obviously either don't even watch Beck but, as well, take the word of these so called journalist watchers who routinely take Beck out of context. Insult the enemy. Attack him. Rules For Radicals. Good work comrades.

Hey, check it out. Beck is real. His message is real. And the people who watch him are real. The left is phony. Wake up left. Get it right. We vastly outnumber you even though you whine louder.

the people who disagree with everything that comes out of Beck's mouth are real. They do not take Beck out of context and unlike you wingnuts, most people on the left do in fact watch shows such as Beck, O'reilly and Hannity because we like to keep up with what the right is spewing out. And since only about 40% of this country identifies itself as conservative and 60% either moderate or liberal, I would say that you do not vastly outnumber anyone.

Since I'm a moderate and don't agree witn everything that comes out of anyones mouth, let alone Beck, but do agree with some things that come out of many people's mouth, and certainly, after some research, do not agree with words out of fools or liars mouths once that has been determined, I'd say that makes me pretty open minded and objective.

My use of the word "vastly" was was not limited to merely conservative and liberal. You (as a liberal?) can't wrap your arms around "moderate" to bolster the numbers if you are far left.

So I should have said "Far Left and Everybody Else".

Check out Rasmussen now, "Right Direction, Wrong Track". Or Gallup, especially as it pertains to the economy then plug in the my use of the word "vastly". That's more the comparison I was thinking of rather than simply liberal and conservative.

Obama ran a pretend, more middle of the road pleasing campaign. That's why I voted for him. He's way more to the left than I imagined. My bad. Now, a lot of Independants are waking up.

But back to Beck. Anyone who dismisses everything or even most of Beck is a Progressive. More people are also waking up to what progressives really are.

It's wise not to take any media's account as gospel. But at least with most of Fox, at least they aren't wetting their pants every time they interview Obama.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Glen Beck is certifiably insane. I'm not basing that opinion just on his above-referenced sexist comment regarding women. No, I'm basing this on the history of behavior he has exhibited on-air.

See, f you've been monitoring Glen like I have, you begin to sense a pattern sometimes. The pattern I see with Glen Beck screams out "That Man Has Serious Undiagnosed Mental Heath Issues"

There's the conspiracy theory and his chalkboard of insane nuttyness, there's the fawning over Sarah Palin, there's the racist comments, the inane ramblings, the thinly veiled assassination suggestions he makes to his wing-nut viewership from time to time; These are not the things that sane people do.

To be fair, there's a lot of mentally ill celebrities who are undiagnosed or just plain in denial about their illness. Glen Beck is certainly not the first crazy man who has his own TV show. What's sad here is that his handlers at Fox News are exploiting this mentally ill man for their own purposes instead of helping him to seek professional help for his condition. It's just sad, really.
