A Punk? So, SCOTUS is above criticism? Says who? Their decision was an absolute obscenity. Obama would have been negligent not to call them out.

FYI McCain Feingold Law has not been around for a century, that is why the SCOTUS was shaking their heads. SO, Obama just lied.

But the SCOTUS in ruling against McCain-Feingold ignored a century of OTHER legislation and legal precedent.

No, he didn't. Please see the Tillman Act of 1907, the first law which prohibited monetary donations by corporations in a national political campaign. Teddy Roosevelt signed it into law. 2010 minus 1907 . . . if my math is correct, that's "over 100 years" of settled law.

So, apologies for your false statement that Obama "lied."

100 years of progressive law. Remember, wacknuts like Glenn Beck hate Teddy as much as they hate Woodrow Wilson, JFK, LBJ, FDR, and Obama... Remember, it is all part of the secret plot to take over America...

I believe Beck qualified his remarks by saying that he "may be ill-informed" because he gets his news from faux. He also does not know what coup de grĂ¢ce means. So the Tillman Act doesn't matter because Beck didn't know about it. Ah, ignorance... isn't it great when a moron tries to argue Constitutional law with Obama, a former Constitutional law professor? Someone should write a book about smart people arguing with idiots.

I loved it. It was great to see those five justices squirm. I especially loved Alito's response which was of absolute anger that the POTUS would call them out on a decision. This is just another example of right-wing hypocracy. They have derided SCOTUS decisions for so long they don't even know they are doing it anymore.

You shouldn't have said anything, Obama. You know conservatives just hate it when they're called out on anything. Why oh why, Mr. President... ?

Actually, Obama was and is damned right about the SCOTUS decision. And now I wish he would take a page out of Andrew Jackson's book and say, "Now let the Supreme Court enforce their decision."

So, "you lie" is ok to shout at an "equal branch of government"?

      Yeah, right.

Beck is an idiot, and those who swallow that junk are even bigger idiots.

I thought conservatives didn't like the Supreme Court because it was out of control...

And Beck is ill-informed on this; SCOTUS rulings concerning corporate campaign donations go back over a century.

It's called checks and balances. He can either address it in a speech now, or a speech later. But the whole reason why no one branch controls too much power in the legal process it to allow other branches to call them out on questionable behavior. I know Beck talks about how people in this country needs a "civics class". Maybe he should think about taking one instead of this self education he's going through. It's obvious he missed something I was taught in elementary school.

The funny thing is that Beck and his fellow Troglodytes have been raving for years about "Activist Judges". Somehow, none of them seem the least bit concerned about GW Bush's Corporate Toadies giving Constitutional Rights to Corporations.

It's only "activist" to them if it grants abortion rights to someone or marriage rights to same sex partners.

Precisely. "Activist Judge" is code for a Judge who won't allow Troglodytes to codify their bigotry into State Law.

Here we go... Beck and his ilk continue abusing their microphones with unsubstantiated bile. In Glennworld, anybody is above criticism if he doesn't like them. I won't say "agree", because again, i don't believe GB has opinions... he says what he thinks will get his devotees' dander up. Example: his claim to be a Mormon, against his stupid "interview with God". Yuck

      Bingo!!

Of course, by the Beck definition, Reagan and Bush 43 are also punks because they disagreed with Supreme Court decisions (Roe vs. Wade).

Glenn talking about the "crappy 1st Ammendmend" and the "crappy peice of paper" Constitution. Glenn enlighten us poor dumb progressives. Where exactly in the Constitution does it grant corperations the rights of a citizen? Where does it specify that corperations are considered a person?

The 14th Amendment is what proponents of 'corporate personhood' cite as the legal basis for this claim. In actuality, a court reporter, J.C. Bancroft Davis, (who had previously as president of a railway company -thus in league with corporate intentions) wrote in the SUMMARY of the case that the Amendment grants personhood to corporations. It says NOTHING about this in the actual Amendment!

Corporations should not have the same rights as citizens, because 1. their interests are NOT the same as people's interests. Since corporations can be multi-national, they are not looking out for AMERICANS best interest, but rather - the best interest of their shareholders. Venezuela owns Citgo, which has many U.S. subsidiaries - meaning Venezuela can now influence American elections by contributing limitless amounts of money to get the candidate of it's choice elected.

We need to get Corporate Influence OUT of Washington. Completely! This is a direct result of globalization - money is now the driving factor in most things that get done in Washington DC, and NONE of the Founding Fathers would have ever endorsed that.

I am tired of people like you coming on this forum and saying that George Soros owns MMFA. Show some proof that he owns this website. The info I have on MMFA is:

MMFA was founded in 2004 by a former CONSERVATIVE by the name of David Brock, after he got disgusted by the radical movement of the party.
