Ok, here's a primer for all you climate deniers out there. Global warming is about GLOBAL CLIMATE and NOT just the weather!!! If Glenn ever got out more (but that would be impossible because his blinders only allow him to see 5 feet in front of himself) perhaps he might notice the glaciers melting in South America or massive flooding in China.

ha ha very funny seaweed. "Remaining Optimistic While Facing Europe's Coldest Winter in 30 Years" is not from an article about the weather, it is the name of a Comentary written by Richard Quest of CNN on a referendum coming up in March on whether Iceland should be forced to pay back money to England and The Netherlands.
            http://www.chinapost.com.tw/commentary/the-china-post/special-to-the-china-post/2010/01/13/240534/p1/Remaining-optimistic.htm

It does not mention anything about China having the worst winter in 100 years as it has nothing to do with the weather there. Jackazz

hey fishgirl - that like the glaciers melting in the Himalayas, gone in 2035 according the warmingmongers... PROVEN and ADMITTED WRONG....

Of course it will be about global climate change until making about the weather suits you all...

FACT: Global Climate change is REAL. It has been real since the earth began. The deniers are those that deny climate change occurred and continues to occur with little or no human impact... denier....

and a little information for you, the REALITY is that the weather and climate are irrevocably intertwined... enought with the left-wing nut talking points...

yes, global climate change happens on a continous basis. however, that does not mean, and their is ample data to show that man has had an effect at increasing the spped at which the change is occuring. thats why you are part of the deniers crowd. your like a drug addict that caan't see that he is affecting those around him. his excuse is that hey, i'm the one taking the drug. i can do what i want. i am the only one who gets hurt. but we know thats not true. you guys that want to deny mad has an effect on the planet need to wake up really. we already have the capibilty to wipe out most life on the planet now with nukes. if we can wipe out the world in minutes, don't you think it might be possible to alter our enviroment negatively over the course of decades with the amount of pollution we release? and while weather and climate are related, they are not the same. weather is a localized event and climate is what drives that weather, either regionally or globaly.

People want simple solutions to complex issues, so "it's just weather patterns" works much better than "big businesses have lined politicians' pockets so they can render the atmosphere FUBAR with impunity". You misunderstand what I'm saying. Mark claims to be a Christian conservative. I'm a Christian conservative. A TRUE Christian conservative would observe the Biblical admonition that we are to be good stewards of God's creation. Mark's adherence to the corporate-controlled Fox/hate talk radio's meme that denial of global warming is the "conservative Christian" belief would tend to negate his claims of being a conservative Christian. Just saying.

One is a tabloid newspaper [think National Enquirer] and the other calls itself a "conservative" news source. Nice try, though, mark. You aren't a conservative, you are a Fox/hate talk radio groupie. Try actually reading SCIENTIFIC information instead of self-serving articles posted on conservative websites and tabloids. The right wing argument explaining the motivation for progressive/liberal beliefs always brings up nebulous factors of "power", "control", and throws in psychological aberrations, angst etc., whereas the motivation for them is quite simple: I've got mine (as much or as little as that might be), and I'll be darned if someone is going to take any of it away from me. So now Virgina's weather is evidence of a lack of climate change? What about weather elsewhere?

      My town:

Statewide, snowpack levels were at 66% of average.

Snowpack experts said it's a far reach from where the area usually measures this time of year.

USDA snow supervisor John Lea explained just last week that Mt. Hood would need about five more feet of snow to reach "normal" levels.

This as the Portland Metro area will likely finish the month with the second-warmest January on record, according to KGW Meteorologist Rod Hill.

      And the entire Pacific Northwest...

The rest of the nation might be suffering from winter weather, but parts of the Northwest could be on track for a record warm month.

Cliff Mass, professor of atmospheric science at the University of Washington, says temperatures "are amazingly above normal." He says if the weather pattern continues, Seattle could have the warmest January in its history.

The National Weather Service says the average temperature so far this month in Seattle is 7 degrees above normal. Spokane and Portland also are having much warmer weather. The reason, experts say, is the El Nino weather phenomenon - the same periodic weather pattern that is slamming California with heavy rain and snow.

If someone needs to idle an SUV, then do it. If someone needs to drive an SUV because they have a larger family and they need something that can tow, then go for it. But for too many people, they didn't need that SUV. Now that gas prices are going up, they're trading in those bigger vehicles that they didn't need.

That's all we ask. We realize that people need to fly, and drive, and live, but excesses should discontinue to help the next generations. And Beck says that he will disregard the next generation's best outcomes for his own partisan successes.

You do understand that an ice age is completely within the purview of global warming/climate change, right? When the earth's temperature fluctuates, it brings about CLIMATE change. Climate is the pattern of WEATHER [individual events] over a period of time. When the earth's temperature rises, it creates a chain of events which causes climate changes in specific areas. Cold climates become warmer, warmer climates become colder, rain forests suffer drought, deserts become lakes. Keep up, big bird, and try really hard to LISTEN to people who actually have the education to know what they are talking about. A clue: Beck isn't one of those people.

More and more people are seeing just how full of it your "The sky is falling!!!!" is

I assume you're addressing this to George W. Bush after he lost Congress. Seriously, is there anything richer than REPUBLICANS accusing anyone of fearmongering for political gain?

pay no attention to seaweed, the quote he had above about "Remaining Optimistic While Facing Europe's Coldest Winter in 30 Years" from the China Post 1/13/2010 is the name of a Comentary about a referendum coming up in March on whether Iceland should be forced to pay back loans to Britain and The Netherlands and has nothing to do with the weather

True that 1998 was the hottest year on record, but the last ten years have been the hotttest decade on record.

Again- why do people continue to respond to Global Climate Change Deniers? What is the point? If morons repeatedly posted here claiming to believe that the earth is six thousand years old and the first humans looked exactly like they do today, would we bother to respond, even if they bleated "Evolution and the Multi-billion year old earth are SCAMS?"

I don't know why anyone would bother- I don't try to convince children that there's no Santa Claus, and I don't try to convince fundamentalists that dinosaurs didn't drown because they couldn't fit on to Noah's Ark. And I don't waste my time with pea-brained losers who want to pretend that global climate change isn't happening, and isn't being accelerated by human activity. It just isn't worth it to me- can anyone explain?

        Some folks is feisty.

        Some is for the lurkers.

My response varies. There are a few wingnuts I don't usually even read anymore. If there's a response I usually read that.

i think what you people fail to understand is that Glenn doesn't believe in globle warming, so he makes jokes about every cold weather event. taking short clips out of his 20 hours a week that he talks to the nation is childish.

everyone believed the earth was warming and did so for maybe a little over a decade, well now understand that the world is on a 10 year cooling cycle and maybe its just what our planet does. remimber not to long before the warming there was a panic about the cooling.

call me crazy, and I'm sure most of you will, but it sounds like a natural cycle of the Earth. we just started recording this stuff so lets learn before we spread the wealth around the world our country needs all our wealth
