I've been having a back and forth (more or less) debate over at Face Book with a self confessed fan of Mr. Leviin.

He asked me to read Mark' little wrap myself up in a flag book "Liberty and Tyranny"?? Who the hell cares and this guy actually thinks that Mark Levin here is an all around good guy and that in order to understand him you have to be able to read between the lines...

I'm afraid to ask the guy what exactly that means... but I have my suspicions

I'll say this, fictional writers would have a field day creating characters based on Mark Levin

Mark Levin and all the other characters in republican party media have produced years of material for fictional tv show writers. This you will see and they will get no royalties form people writing about the characters they are.

Oh Marky, are you sucking on helium? I have to ask the question. I'm not accusing you of anything. I'm saying, listen carefully, are you sucking on helium while on the air?

What? That's your actual voice? Oh, I'm so embarrassed. I withdraw my intentionally, malice filled, unsupportable, dangerously close to slanderous question.

Or could it be that he takes estrogen supplements? I have to ask the question. I'm not accusing him of anything. I'm saying, listen carefully to that girly voice . . .

My, oh my. What fun. When you are careful enough to use the right weasel words and put slander in the form of a question you can get away with just about anything.

                Agreed!
Any place called 'Rush Territory' should be far, far, away, have no natural beauty or exploitable resources and be enclosed in a very high fence. Add a few oil wells and belching (non union) factories, with a coterie of male pages and maybe more and more right wing talking heads would willfully choose to 'vacation' there, never to return.

Only tangentially related, I just think this is funny: Patrick Leahy plays the old man the Joker threatens at the party in "The Dark Knight".

Senator Leahy is in several of the Batman films; he's longtime friends with several artists and an avid cartoon collector. (He has a collection of autographed cartoons in his office and home; one notable blank spot in his collection is any sample of "Prince Valiant," because the artist refused to autograph one for him to display in his office unless he paid for it, which the Senator will never do.)

I know all this stuff because my father was the Senator's Press Secretary in the 80s and 90s. He's a good guy- though too often a middle-ground seeker, and definitely the lesser of Vermont's two Senators since Bernie Sanders took office.

If Senator Leahy had downed a drop or two before coming to the floor, he'd hardly be the first, or last, to do so. If it was a Republican Senator, however, the pages would be side-stepping carefully, keeping their backs to the nearest wall.

Although (R) Sen. Christopher Bond of Missouri is retiring, he comes to the Senate drunk most days. His nose could embarass Rudolph.

Your ignorance of the facts are quite obvious and not just Conchobhar!

I suppose if you all had jobs, you wouldn't be the sad individuals you are ranting on line about things you know little of.

Levin suggests Sen. Patrick Leahy drunk on Senate floor

You know I remember watching a cartoon when I was a kid and I think Mark Levin sounds like the voice of this character:

Does Mark Levin sound like Brain Smurf??

I mean his voice reminds me of this character! LOL!

Levin is right. Senator Leahy was drunk. Drunk with knowledge and logic. Something Levin doesn't have or understand. Levin's jealous of the depth of Senator Leahy's knowledge.

This reminds me of something I read on an Alaska blog about when Palin was running for governor. Andrew Halcro was one of her opponents. Palin was sitting on the stage at a table under which she was hiding a stack of index cards with her talking points written on them. When Halcro responded to a question, he was able to speak very knowledgeably on any topic without notecards. Palin didn't understand how/why he could do this, commented on it and proceeded to dismiss the importance of knowing anything about issues important to the state's citizens.

Levin would rather trash/smear Senator Leahy's intelligence/character than to give him credit for possessing intimate knowledge of the subject on which he was speaking. This is a clear sign of Levin's pettiness and own his short-comings.

Levin only knows what his RNC handlers tell him. He is probably restricted to watching Fox, listening to other Hate radio hosts for idea talking points, and reading right wing newspapers only fit to put in the bottom of a bird cage.

I find it not only remarkable but also rather frightening that there are people in this country who attach even the slightest amount of credibility to what Mr. Levin has to say about ANYTHING!
The man is clearly a candidate for a straight jacket and a rubber room.

Y'know, if I had to sit in the chamber and listen to the republicans, I'd be mighty tempted to have a drink or three.

Just waiting for the wing nuts to bring up Kennedy, like they do anytime alcohol is mentioned.
