Egghead? Hmmm, i never really thought of Bill O'Reilly quite like that.
Bonehead? Now we're getting closer to my understanding of this Cat.
Lumphead? It sounds a little "Leave it to Beaver" but it could work.
Dumbhead? This might be it because everyone knows Bill-O's the Consummate Jerk.

        Speak truth to power.

        O'Reilly's only using Tea Party math. 70,000 = 2,000,000.

        4 x 200,000,000 = 1,000,000,000,000

This is Simple, Billo!: 200,000,000(4)= 800,000,000.00, NOT 1,000,000,000.00

          250,000,000(4)= 1,000,000,000.00

Is this as simple as how many states there are? As in Obama saying he visited 52.

I like it better, too. His misstatement was only a 4% error. It's a good thing O'Reilly didn't become a CPA. Most businesses frown on 10,000% errors.

Ooops. Mistake of my own. Billion to trillion is only a 1,000% error.

I'm so embarrassed. It's a damned good thing I don't have my own TV show. That would expose me as an arrogant bag of hot air and provide my critics reasons to mock me whenever I make a slip of the fingers or tongue.

But outside of the occasional typo I assure you I'm an honest and trustworthy guy. That can be verified by an article about me that appeared in the Paris Business Review.

I would soo love to know something about the audience of Eddie Foy and his little 'special needs' brother . .

Do any of them admit to accepting SSI, SSD, worker's compensation, medicaid, unemployment benefits??

Can't all be democrats and independents receiving gov't. benefits . .

Indeed, all of these folks are getting or have received gov't aid.

As for Bill O'Reilly not understanding the difference between a billion and a trillion, and, more importantly, Bill O'Reilly's interest in delaying and denying justice for the families of the 9/11 victims, I have 1000 words for the man: Shut Up!

Wonder where fairliberal is? She loves to repeat the false meme about Obama not knowing how many states there are, even posts the snopes article that proves that it was a slip of the tongue to prove her point. I'm sure she'll be here to defend her crush for his mistake.

I'll give it my best shot:

Well, at least O'Reilly knows that there are only 50 states, not 57 like your messiah Obama. (http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/57states.asp). Besides I'm sure O'Reilly was not only counting the 200 million in dollars, but also the money lost due to unproductivity that the trial would cause due to security concerns shutting down certain businesses and affecting business. You liberals will jump on any little mistake and try to blow it out of proportion.

            </fake fairliberal>

            How was that?

Nicely done ! You might have referred to the inconsequential "gnats" at MMFA once or twice, to emphasize how little regard you have for the website you visit almost daily to make a fool of yourself, but other than that, dead-on Failliberal.

I feel your pain. It's sort of the mental equivalent of running without using your legs.

                  But check out the Bow-Gate thread for some real life examples of conservative thinking. At the end of a long comment thread about the idiocy of the media focusing on trivia like a bow, there's an amusing one-two wingnut punch, that's basically;

Wingnut #1 : So did he bow or not ? I need to know.

Wingnut #2: Thanks for getting back on topic, Wingnut #1 !

Oh... he's only off by THREE ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE. (And then another 25% on top of that.)

And yeah, this REALLY passes the COMMON SENSE TEST, doesn't it? 2/3 of Obama's projected deficit for 2010 could be save over the next four years by axing just this ONE TRIAL. WOW. That IS amazing!

I think being bad at math is one of the cornerstones of being a Republican. It explains why so many of the most avid Lotto players I know are GOPpers.

I just heard a bit of Boss Hogg during my road time wingnut scanning, and there was an interesting ditto-caller. She claimed to be a meteoroligist who didn' believe people could affect climate change, because the ice age ended due to global warming. Case closed.

Then she went into the wealth distribution territory. She also did taxes, and told a personal sory of a young couple with two kids who had an income of 15k, paid no taxes, and were getting 7k back as their refund.

She "did a little math" and figured out that this couple had a "disposable income" of over 32k after WIC and food stamps were added in.

I've never collected welfare, and I don't have any kids so I've always paid more taxes, but this sounds a bit out there (even disregarding her misunderstanding of the term "disposable income").

Anybody know if a situation even close to this is possible outside of Rush's bubble?

It also explains why the 22% -- or fewer -- who were avid Bush supporters at the end of his term thought they constituted a majority . . .

What I don't understand is how we suddenly got so bad at trying terrorists?

Feb 26, 1993 - World Trade Center Bombed.
Mar 4, 1993 - Four men arrested in connection with the bombing.
Mar 1994 - Four men convicted of conspiracy, explosive destruction of property and interstate transportation of explosives, sentenced to 240 years in prison.
Feb 1995 - Ramzi Youseff arrested in Pakistan
Aug 4, 1997 - Ramzi Youseff trial begins
Nov 1997 - Ramzi Youseff convicted. Yousef, the mastermind behind the bombings
Jan 1998 - Youseff sentenced to life imprisonment with no parole.

How is it now that the KSM trial is going to take 4 years. Yousef's trial started Aug 4, 1997 and he was sented 5 months later. What happened to our justice system in the last 10 years?

      from the how-much-more-desperate-can-you-be-to-call-out-conservative-misinformation dept:

blunder?... that's quite the gotcha, media matters... you totally nailed o'reilly saying "almost a trillion" instead of billion... if that isn't the nail in his career coffin, then nothing is... thank god you've dispatched your credential-less minions to provide crappy audio and video of this cheesy tour, all the while lining bill's and beck's pockets... i'm sure you feel these exclusives are really paying off in top-notch journalism, keep up the good work... there just might be a webby in this for someone, if there is a category such as best piece-of-**** video shot of an utterly meaningless faux pas...

next week's EXCLUSIVE video shot with aunt betty's vacation camcorder: bill says "beck and me" instead of "beck and i"...

It's not the 1st time he has done this. A few weeks back he refered to the $12.5 trillion national debt as the deficit. Thou this was probably intended to make the president look bad. Maybe his Catholic school teacher nun should rap him on his knuckles.

I guess I'm not surprised that Media Matters is focusing their attention on a simple gaff. I wonder where the faciliators of this website were when Obamao said he had visited 57 states or when he said that Memorial Day was a day for remembering "fallen heroes in battle...many of whom [I] see here today". So...where were all of you?

Or are you all just so ticked off that O'Reilly's 5am re-run has ten times more viewership than Oldermann's primetime show? Sour grapes...anyone?

      He he he.
