Saw that one earlier today, that was pretty much BS as well. I'm surprised actually, that MMFA doesn't have that on here, I bet they will.

Lookie here hater.I'm a musician that works in jazz and blues and I hear it from my fellow woodshedders and don't care what I'm called. If the word "cat" comes out I don't rush to Wickapedia to find out what it means.I am even a rare white boy that knows where the term "honky" came from..hint..Harlem..Why?

Good one.In the 20's the white guys would go into Harlem ,looking for black ladies, and honk their horns to get their attention.I learned it from a guy that was actually there and have no reason to doubt it.But I'm sure oozin has other ideas.

I knew it had something to do with (literally) honking, but didn't know the rest of the story. Thanks for the enlightenment.

I can't believe someone gave your post a thumbs down.

You made no political statement and only stated the definition of woodshedding.

And being a long time Dan Hicks fan, I can't believe that someone would give you a thumbs down for mentioning him.

Not according to most African Americans I've talked to about it. They thought it sounded like a great idea to serve soul food in honor of Black History month.

Most African-Americans I've talked to don't see the problem. In Texas, on Cinco de Mayo, most folks have Mexican fiestas. As for the food choices, I'm a Texan with deep southern roots. My family was eating "soul food" before it was called soul food. We just called it Sunday dinner. I will say that, given a choice, I prefer turnip greens to collards, though. Give me a bottle of hot pepper sauce and a bowl of turnips and greens and I'm a HAPPY girl!

Looks like he's running out of reasons to hate and fear Obama, and while grasping at straws, he randomly pulled the "make fun of his first name" straw.

Making fun of "Hussein" is so 2009. "Barack" as sounding "other-ish" and "un-American-ish" is the hip and happenin' 2010 talking point. Obama showed such poor judgement and lack of patriotisim in choosing Barack as his name.

I think the two n's in "Glenn" are highly suspect. It sounds French or something, but we speak English here in America. At best, the two n's are redunnnnndannnnnt.

I'm not sure that Sault Ste Marie, Terre Haute, and San Francisco are names I would identify as American, either. Or Sousa. No name could sound less American than "Sousa". How could anybody take the name "Sousa" to identify with America?

(I admit, in the Doc Savage movie, they highlighted USA in Sousa, so I 'borrowed' it)
