"she deserves more respect than this"

Well... no, she doesn't. It's just that the disrespect should be based on her dangerous idiocy and not on her gender.

Sorry, I think sister Palin is too busy a.) collecting her $100,000 for the teabagger convention speech and b.) making sure she doesn't offend the mighty Rushbo about the whole retard thing.

Good for Fred. Never cared much for the man nor his politics, but I think he states the problem here very well: the issue isn't Palin, it's how a supposed "serious" journalist comports himself.

Walter Cronkite never would have yucked it up with some wacky DJ - he had too much respect for his craft. Would that the celebrity journalists of DC felt the same these days. Give credit to Thompson for saying so.

Seriously. Try checking for Cronkite's obits on YouTube. The posts are invariably crawling with wingnuts dancing on his grave.

On Grumpy ol' Fred: Not a fan, but I actually agree with his remarks regarding Wallace and the press. I don't particularly think that Palin "deserves" respect regarding her positions or her intelligence, but the hubba-hubba banter between Imus and supposed "serious journalist" Chris Wallace was juvenile at best.

Good for the old guy from Law & Order. I was wondering what he'd been doing the last couple of years.

I do agree with Fred on this, she does deserve more respect than that Chris Wallace showed to her. I realize that it was a very lame attempt at a joke, but I don't picture his father interviewing someone while sitting on his lap when he was on 60 minuts.

Not to even mention that she is a married woman.

Oh boy, that Fox bunch is just all about family values, eh?

This implosion of the inner circle at Fox and going after Wallace for his remarks is hilarious... with this, on top of the teabaggers starting to turn against each other, including Sarah Barracuda and el rushbo contradicting the hell out of one another, is funny to watch. It's like witnessing a car crash before it happens.

Basically, after a while, you start to notice that the enormous egos of the wingnuts in this country just can't fit in one network anymore, let alone at one side of the political spectrum. They are all just so big headed and ignorant, especially with the ratings explosion/popularity of Fox News and talk radio, but at the end of the day, they end up embarrassing themselves because they think they can do and say everything and get away with it. Now, they are paying the price.
