Another corporate shill going to war against the poor and underpriviledged in America.

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

And now these words fall on selfish, cold ears. America has been sold to the highest bidder and it's time for the poor to hit the bricks.

Heaven forbid we give poor people the right to vote, let alone make it easy for them to do so...

In 2004, our Republican Secretary of State put only a few voting machines in the heavily (read: black) sections of my city, forcing these people to stand in long lines in the rain.

Of course this is a scourge to the democratic process. If you have the nerve to be poor, that silly right to vote shouldn't apply to you.

Can I assume Quinn has the same problem with churches busing members to the polling place as well?

Well, if they didn't want to be poor, they should have had the good sense to be born to rich parents! ;o)

And so the fact that nationalized health care would treat someone's illneses offends you so much? The military takes TRILLIONS of your tax money to KILL people that you don't even know! Helping the least of us brings out the best in ALL of us. You Counry First Teabaggers don't know anything about being an American! You don't even have any idea of what America is all about! The fact that you have the loudest megaphone makes you think that you are right. WRONG! Real Americans know who they are. Your kind and your ideals WILL be defeated.

I can tell you that in VA, the poorer districts with double digit high school drop out rates normally vote Republican.

Arlington and Fairfax, two of the wealthiest districts in VA, carried Virginia for Obama.

James, one day you are trying to get the poor, huddled masses to become Republicans and the next day you elude to them as morons who cannot think for themselves.

James, I guess you also are pointing out that the Dems are much smarter than the Repubs..

Buses can hold up to 50
      Pickup trucks, not 50

      No wonder you guys lose.

Shoved onto buses like this, Jim?

"The Steele campaign recruited six busloads of poor and homeless Philadelphians to hand out flyers to Maryland voters portraying Steele and his ticketmate, governor Bob Ehrlich, as Democrats. Steele is currently Maryland's lieutenant governor; Ehrlich is governor."

I hope that you get kicked off of the air soon, and loose everything you own. And when you are poorer that dirt and ask for help that you are violently turned away and give not even the basics of necessities to continue your worthless miserable irrelevant life.

This is too funny -- Republicans attacking poor people because they have the nerve to clutter up elections by voting in them. It's almost as funny as Rush Limbaugh shedding crocodile tears because the way the Democrats in Congress are picking on the poor suffering bankers and their banks.

This reminds me of Fox Business moron, Stuart Varney, when he reported that New York stimulus funds had gone to the poor who were lining up all over the state to buy beer and flat screen tv's. How did Stewie know about this surge of drunken HD abuse? He claimed retailers all over the state were calling to "report" the sales. How often do retail establishments really bitch when people come in with dough to blow, be it on beer or anything else? Where would a business, overwhelmed with evil poor people clutching cash, "report" the uptick in sales and what business would be upset by a surge of cash? Hatred of the poor has been so ingrained in this country that my poor relatives hate the poor around them. When the poor hate the poor, the guys like Quinn smile. I always point out to my corporate, wealthy family members that we have no laws limiting their wealth, but there is a law stating how little people can get away with paying honest, workers.

this is a consorted effort to malign democrats(especially minorities) as not "real" americans. sarah palin is not the only "real" american. this country belongs to all of us, not just conservative tea partiers. every time a democrat attacks the conservative republican tea party movement(or palin), it's portrayed as an attack on america!! however, when they attack obama (who is an american!), it's never referred to as an attack on america. the "real" america is code for "white" america, but don't listen to me, just read the signs and listen to the speeches!

It is a continuation of that ancient right wing meme of the treasonous, subhuman Otherness of those who don't willingly knuckle under to authoritarian rule. Those who don't conform... whether that nonconformity takes the shape of adhering to the 'wrong' religion, the 'wrong' ethnicity, the 'wrong' class, or the 'wrong' political views... are portrayed as internal aliens who seek to undermine the national zeitgeist by burrowing into the culture, infecting and polluting it. This Otherness is then used as the moral justification for unleashing political violence and intimidation upon these 'suspect' groups.

Being literate also makes us suspect, jjamele. It makes us 'eggheads' who lack the simple minded 'virtues' of the complacent and compliant wad. We talk back and often provide complex and subtle reasoning to justify our trouble making. Just look at the right's ongoing war against higher education. Universities are seen as hotbeds of dissent, filled with intellectuals, liberals, and... worst of all... those pesky know-it-all scientists, who always seem to be elevating their damned knowledge over corporate profits and religious orthodoxy.

Now, why would 'good' Americans do a thing like that?

the hatred of the "otherness" of other people, is what truly started the nazi movement. that's what makes a right wing nazi like glenn beck so offensive. blaming "others", and saying things like you want "your" country back, were popular themes of the nazi movement. you spoke of "internal aleins", which is exactly what glenn beck spoke of when he said," the enemy is not outside our gates, the enemy is within our gates". we don't need a couple of chalk boards and endless conspiracy theories to prove glenn beck is a nazi, just listen to his own words.

Excellent analysis, bluestate. That is EXACTLY what doughboy is doing. He accuses others (i.e. Obama and progressives) of being Nazis, while he goes around employing their tactics.

Glenn Dreck is more dangerous than people think.
