Well, Chuck, you guys have allowed FOX and it's pretend journalists to play dress-up in your midst without so much as a peep of protest for years. Now you've got a cancer which is killing your profession.

I am glad, however, that you and other journalists are finally starting to speak out against Troglodyte Propaganda. I just hope it's not too late to save the Free Press.

Excellent point, N. Occasionally, I think, this will come up through guys who are trying to do his job like Todd (although he is no stranger to the Repub talking point) but it will be swept away by the victim playing Fox and the rest of the boardrooms at the media companies. Fox style reporting must exist for the rest of them to have a chance to push a conservative agenda. Because any facts, as we have learned, have a liberal bias.

        Chuck:

How can I put this politely? When MSNBC voluntarily invites people like Betsey McCaughey on and gives them air time to spew their lies, you can't get off the hook by blaming FOX for the sorry state of journalism today.

So MSLSD can be religiously liberal and it's fine, but it's not OK for a different news channel to be conservative?

Explain your logic. I assume it will be a spin on "they are wrong and we are right."

Notice how when Media Matters makes a claim about Fox News or any of the like that claim is backed up with much documentation whether it be written, audio footage, or video footage. That guy Sammon made a broad sweeping accusation with no documentation to support his claim whatsoever. Smells like his name sounds. Fishy.

      Exactly that Nerzog...

That the majority of the so-called 'liberal' media was nearly silent while Bush/Cheney were destroying this nation in nearly every corner and upon the election of a Democrat, they suddenly wake up?

The cancer was allowed to go untreated for eight years and it has grown into what we have today.

I was amazed last night to see, on our local ABC News affiliate, a story about Republican obstructionism. They detailed how Republicans had insisted on certain amendments to bills and then voted against them, and the Senator who has been holding up Obama's appointees so that his state can get a Defense Industry contract.

There is still journalism going on in isolated pockets, after all. Perhaps the sleeping giant has awakened and wants the fleas out of its bed. We'll see.

Shelby, a Republican Senator from Alabama, is the one who has put a hold on all of these appointees. He has done this so he can in essense bribe the Senate leadership to get pork projects for his state. However, it must be said (it is a big however here) he wouldn't have been able to stop these appointments unless Harry Reid had not allowed him to do so. It is a Senate rule that is deeply entrenched in tradition, or so I understand. The Senate used to be the greatest diliberative body in the world, where intellectual heavy weights helped shape policy through meaningful debate. Now it is just a political cage match where nothing gets done and ideology rules the day. How sad.

He released his holds on ALL appointments except for the ones directly related to his earmark request. He's still holding an Air Force guy and two others.

Supposedly he put the holds on, he says disingenuously, in order to get Obama's attention. Well, if that was the case, why did he put holds on 70 people, and why does he STILL have holds?

Since when is there journalism on any television network?

These hacks in the business of make-up hairstyle wardrobe read the copy off the teleprompter former cheerleader beauty contest runner-up toothpaste commercial model focus group-tested faces and voices, they love to flatter themselves and refer to each other as "journalists", and to what they do as "journalism"...

This is just plain and simple with how FoxNews and Republicans 'manipulate' MSM and America to 'victimize' a blemish that's become a "weakspot" for one of their people, or party. Remember how MSM reported the divide in the Tea Party? And what about Palin written notes on her palm when answering quesitons from her Supporters at the TPN? Ouch, ouch, ouch. LOL.

So, how will Republicans and FoxNews "spin" away from Palin and TPN? 1) Publicly make 'outrageous statements; 2) MSM cover the outrageous statement non-stop for a few days; and 3) Palin and TPN gets swept under the rug. Wink, wink. Yeap, works everytime with MSM - LOL.

It seems since Obama was selected for the Nobel Peace Prize that the mainstream media is determined not to treat the president with much respect.

Everyone can see how the blue dog democrats and the republicans are blocking real efforts for change.

Bush and his cronies blue thru a surplus like their was know tommorow and the press will not explain where all that money went.

Obama is stuck with the check and the press gives the blue dogs and the G.O.P. a pass.

Christie just raised taxes on the people of Jersey. The press is silent.

Why does the press want the G.O.P. back in control? Ask Bernie Madoff.

Gee, I wonder what evidence the Troglodytes have of this alleged Mainstream Media hatred of Simple Sarah and the Teabagging Racist Party? Oh, I see plenty of it on the Liberal Blogosphere, but where in the traditional News Media is this "hatred" manifesting itself?

Seems to me that they've given the Wasilla Twit more exposure than she deserves, and they covered the Teabaggers as if they really represented some kind of spontaneous grassroots movement, which we know it isn't.

      Where's your evidence, Troglodytes?

When you report on a headline speaker who suggests literacy tests be a qualification for voting, that a "birther" gets huge applause during a panel discussion, or that the keynote speaker wrote crib notes on her hand for a session of pre-screened questions, I guess you could say the coverage was unfair and unbalanced. That stupid "truth" stuff gets in the way of snarky "hopey changey thing" bon mots

You forget, pvd, what would probably be on a Tancredo "civic literacy" test. Items like:

"Why is America a Christian nation, and why is Christianity better than every other religion?

"How does the cherry-tree-chopping incident prove that George Washington hated liberals?"

"Cite three examples from the Federalist Papers that prove that the Founders wanted America to be white-people-only."

His test would not be designed to show "civic literacy," but merely another RepugnantCon trick to cage out liberal voters. It is, therefore, perfectly legitimate to class this exactly alongside poll taxes and literacy tests, two other famous ways to keep the "undesirables" from getting to vote...

So these are the people who watch MSLSD. Depressing.

By the way, FOX is dominating CNN/MSLSD because people are tired of the brown-nosing and soft reporting they do. While I don't particularly care for Hannity, Beck, and O'Reilly, they are mopping the floor with liberals.

Because, guess what? America isn't liberal, it's conservative.

Where do these people get their information from?? America is conservative??? Fox is watched more because it's more widely available. I've stayed at countless hotels in which only Fixed Noise was available. It's NOT because the people would rather not get the facts, it's because the Corporate Machine that makes the decisions, ie. comcast, clear channel, etc prefer the American people to be as stupid as possible.

This is typical comment of the people spelled out in Idiot America. The 3 premises:
        1. If it moves the meter (or product) it must be right.
        2. If they believe it it must me true.
        3. If they scream loud enough--it must be true.

Then the 4th and final for pundits, treat them like idiots, because they are--it is scary, but seems to be working quite well. Most of us know FOX is a joke, but the real problem is the remaining media, who believe that copying their crap is the way to go.

I am just blown away about how wingnuts just love to go on and on about the ratings of Faux News. I mean, you'd think that they were all shareholders in News Corpse, the way they beam and giggle at every mention of them. They constantly cite these ratings as if they reflect something of the journalistic QUALITY of Faux News.

Let me see if I can put this in a way that they can understand.

There's an old saying that goes "You can attract more flies with honey than with vinegar". While that's undeniably true, see what happens if you plop down a big old pile of steaming sh!t next to them. I guaranty you that it is neither the honey NOR the vinegar that will win THAT particular ratings war. The flies will go absolutely nuts, buzzing around the sh!t pile and trumpeting it as "the ratings giant in fine foods". They will wax poetic about it, and cite their own frenzied numbers as 'proof' of the inherent superiority of sh!t.

And... worst of all... they will mock those of us who still prefer the honey as being 'out of touch' with the rest of the fly community.

Cons. about 20% of population. All watch faux only
        Liberals and independents.
        20% CNN
        20% MSNBC
        20% PBS
        20% CNN HN
so it is obvious since faux just caters to one type of viewer but all the other stations try to be more factual and fair. So they get a variety of all the other people watching.
(Please don't use my numbers a etched in stone facts, they are more as an example.) Also google "news network ratings" for lots of better statements then mine to prove this point.

MSNBC is just as bias as FOX. CNN is the only moderate one and they lean slightly left, which is fine.

You can add up all the viewers of the other channels and they will not add up to FOX's ratings. The reason I use that point is just to show the mood of the country. I don't even watch FOX Skews.

It seems to me that Murdoch, Ailes, and Sammons cooked up a scheme along with Armey and other corporatists to fund the tea party movement. The original tea parties were probably small pockets of grassroot activists. Fuchs Noose executives saw them and decided to capitalize on the movement to oppose liberals and the Obama Administration. Now it seems that they are p!ssed off because the Tea Party Convention drew a lot of nuts and a lot of negative reaction to them. IMHO, this just goes to show that once you pull the covers off of certain people in this faux movement, you get a chance to see the ugly underbelly. They deserve to be upset that the public at large rejects the foolishness of Palin, Tancredo, Farah, Breitbart, etc., but they are not as angry as I am about the fact that they tried to foist these haters off on the American people as legitimate political movers and shakers when the real truth is that they're corporate welfare queens and kings, offering no solutions to anything. I guess Sammons expected us to let these "speakers" have a free pass. Too bad. They tried to shut us down when they clearly knew that GWB was phucking up big time. We were right. I'll never give up on exposing them for their cretins that they are. They're a pox on American democracy.

CT's "surprise" at F-Newz's accusations reminds me of the scene from "Casablanca" when Claude Raine's character professes to be shocked! that gambling has been going on in Rick's nightclub . . . and then collects his winnings.

The (formerly) MSM is still playing the F-Newz game -- treat the crazies as if they were actually sane, and eventually everyone will accept insanity as sanity.

Helllooooo, Chuck! Just look at who's show you're delivering your remarks on -- Joe Scarborough's -- the guy who went after Bill C. for getting bj's . . . after his mistress was found dead on the floor of his congressional office back in 2001.

And yet the newspeople showing this "hate" it? C'mon. This birther party was treated as if it was some major event instead of the wackjob meeting that it actually was.
