Of course he can't condemn those statements. He can't get elected to anything without the drooling Beckophants.

Why do people have to condemn things said by someone else? It's been happening quite frequently lately from both sides of the aisle. Just because your associated with someone doesn't mean you follow what they have said when you weren't even there. Asking Rubio to condemn Beck's statements is about as stupid as asking Obama to condemn Ayer's interview statements.

        Indeed.

Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck of FOX News are bringing their "Bold & Fresh Tour'' to Tampa on Friday, and volunteers from Marco Rubio's campaign for U.S. Senate will be ready and waiting.

According to a campaign e-mail, volunteers will be "spreading Marco's message in the parking lot at next Friday's Glenn Beck/Bill O'Reilly two shows in Tampa at the USF Sundome. With both shows sold out (15,000+ capacity), that's 30,000 like-minded Marco-friendly audience members we can reach...Friday will be a lot of fun, and Marco's campaign is 100% supporting this outreach project."

One defining quality of modern conservative politicians is that they're all pretty gutless. Given an opportunity to denounce the irrational, intolerant, hatred of the crazies in their party they usually decline. Just gutless...

I dont recall everyone in the modern liberal party being so quick to condemn Moveon.org (without some sort of stipulation with republicans), Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers, etc, etc.

Both parties do not want to offend or seperate themselves from the fringe portions of the group. It's common sense. You people who act like its a one-sided coin make me laugh.

And you honestly think that is a fair statement? Lets be real here IRONY. You have people on the left who call the troops murderers. You have groups on the left who spit on troops when they get off the plane in aiports - happened to my own father coming home from Vietnam (which he was drafted, btw).

To act like this is a one-sided coin is ridiculous. Both sides use politics to oppress the opposition - its a tactic, that unfortunately, works. But don't make sweeping statements that bear little to no truth, and that you have no way of proving to be fact. In fact, what your statement is doing is nothing more than what you accuse them of doing....using politics and ideology to destroy opposition. I believe your ideology right now is being used to trump other Americans beliefs.

          To edgewater

I don't doubt you are right, edgewater.
Republicans' regain to power, WILL be at the expense of the American people. They show you what they are willing to do (lie, distort, misrepresent) and they show you how devious and childish they are (make up things and name-calling).
The media is guilty of legitimizing Republicans nutcases by giving them a platform to criticize and attack the president, even though it is un-patriotic and un-American. The media is also guilty of ignoring and overlooking those who are caught lying to the American people. The media is doing a great dis-service to their profession AND the American people. You don't let a known liar believe it is alright to lie without a challenge or reprisal. This is what Republicans are getting away with.
Everyone- meaning.. ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS should be offended by Republicans behavior. No way on God's green earth should they ever be in a position of power.

Scarborough asks Rubio if he condemns Beck for calling Obama a racist, comparing him to dictators

      He's a hypocrite! Read below.

The Club for Growth/Teabagger candidate for Senate in Florida, who’s challenging the NRSC’s Charlie Crist in a primary, apparently thinks we should forcibly deport 14 million people from the country.

As an underdog U.S. Senate candidate courting the GOP’s conservative wing, Marco Rubio takes a hard-line position against illegal immigration: no amnesty. [...] The son of Cuban exiles born in Miami says he opposed the proposal spearheaded in 2006 by former Sen. Mel Martinez — whose early retirement triggered Rubio’s 2010 campaign — that would have allowed illegal immigrants to work toward citizenship. Crist supported the bill.

Indeed, Rubio recently smacked Crist for that position on the stump.

“He supported cap and trade,” Rubio said of Crist. “He supported the stimulus package. He supported amnesty for illegal aliens. These are all major issues that are going to be coming up in Washington.

So how did Rubio’s parents, who fled Castro’s Cuba in 1959, get in? Yep, they were granted amnesty.

Shortly after Castro won control, some elite Cubans fled to Miami. As the flow grew, Presidents Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, and Lyndon Johnson used the parole power to admit them. From 1959 to the Cuban missile crisis of 1962, more than 200,000 arrived.

Once again, IOKIYAR — or in this case, IOKIYACR.

Joe only tried to put Rubio on spot just to hit him a little for Gov. Christ, that's all. Joe will be on Monday stating what a fine and awesome Conservative Republican Rubio has become, LOL.

Btw, we emailed Joe on Morning Joe this morning telling him and his Republican friends to STOP with their "lies" and "falsehoods" about Pres. Obama and Democrats while "praising" the SAME old tired Republican Party (GOP) that almost brought America to the brink of Depression. That's about the best description I've ever heard of the rude dog, Scarborough and his acolyte audience. Very apt. I guess his handsome (if you like that type) and neat appearance, and the fact that he says something sane once in a while gets him over with the blank slate (no ability to extrapolate or use abstract thought) crowd he caters to every day. It's like he gets forgiven by a priest every night and is absolved of everything, only to forget his transgressions the next day and start anew with the the idiocy.

And one of the things that's always turned me off about the guy is his bullying and strident attitude. Not to mention that shrill voice of his. Oy.

Professional Pricks, to me, are people who will announce that they are going to let their Hummers idle all night in response to a report that human activity causes global warming. Or are going to go out and eat three Big Macs a day for a week in response to a report that Big Macs cause obesity and heart disease. In 2005, witless Boston yakker Howie Carr responded to a request by then-Gov Romney to conserve energy by announcing that he was going to go home, leave his Lincoln Navigator in the driveway idling all night, open all his windows, and turn his AC up full blast. That's being a professional prick- acting like a bullying child who wants nothing more than to give the concept of living in a society the big middle finger. And they think they are being funny and clever.

I did try to listen for one show, but alas, he sounds identical to all of the other yakkers (who we are all too abundantly aware of) whose delivery and voice and "ideas" can't be distinguished one from another. To me, at least.

And they all seem to prescribe to the same smug, sarcastic mean spiritedness, and then dare to call liberals condescending.

          Hi SRLTX,

That's the main crux right there. The sticking point, the rub ;-)

I for one am not comparing him to the others to ascertain an opinion of him being reasonable. I judge him on his own terms. And too often he's just a guy that seems to have no ability to draw correlations, extrapolate things from one day to the next and doesn't draw on the abstract. IMHO, he's a dummy. But he says something reasonable once in a while and is good looking (if you like the type), and facile and glib.

Let's say I have no use for him....;-0) And I refuse to applaud him when he says something halfway cogent once in a while, because he'll be back the very next day with more BS talking points.

Rubio is the new face of Florida. Obama was able to take this state in 2008 because the conservatives here were tired of Bush's spending habits. Hoping he could turn things around quickly. Now they hate Obama with a Passion and see this man/boy as their saviour. It's something to watch. The tea party bagging john birchers are behind this guy 150% and want him in the senate bad! It just may happen. He won't condemn Beck, and he's already ahead of the game by virtue of the fact that he can comfortably lie on nat'l TV. Beck is one of the most prominent faces of the Tea Party insanity and Rubio knows it. A strong narrative has been created here and their running with it. Stephen Hayes said yesterday, I think we should just repudiate liberals .... period. Liberalism is now bad for the country.....not patriotic enough! This is getting serious!

Oh thats right, is it becuase he is 1 of millions of conservative people in the USA, that he automatically thinks the same thing that someone else said when he wasn't even there? Must be. Hey Glenn! Even the conservatives (Faux Con in the case of Rubio) have stopped listening to you, by their own admission! You truly do walk a lonely (and insane) road, Lonesome Rhodes.

In other words Marco agrees with Glenn Beck. He is smart enough to know that Glenn is telling the truth. Obama is a Marxist and a very dangerous man.

Actually, he equivocates on it, because he knows that your boy Father Coughlin is full of crap and alienates mainstream voters. So, he either disagrees with Beck (in which case you're SOL) or he agrees with him but lacks the courage of his (insane) convictions, which isn't much better. You're not-a so great with the listening comprehension.

It's doing that for me either way. Just the idea that anyone could be a "Bobby Jindal fan" makes milk come out of my nose. Weird part is, I'm not drinking milk.

Isn't it nice to see the conservatives sticking to that traditional "big tent" thinking? If he'd been really clever he'd have invoked the first amendment and big tent, and given some push back. I'd love to see the press following up on that! :)
