The word 'convert' can have strong religious overtones. It would not surprise me in the least if this became even more openly a religious movement. Glenn Beck is, currently, walking a thin line between rodeo clown and televangelist. You can tell because the tiny minority that actually follow him take everything he says on faith, swallowing it whole like the divine word of god.
What will be scary is if this astroturf campaign actually starts fooling a sizeable percentage of average Americans. If that happens, we will soon see the return of the Salem witch trials, only this time they will be broadcast live on FOX Propaganda.

There are times when I am so glad to be a Federal worker. It is against the rules to discuss politics at the office. I couldn't go out and try to convert someone to be a conspiracy theory rejecting liberal even if I wanted to. There are occasional discussions of politics, but they don't go too far. If it gets ugly, someone invokes the "no politics rule" and the discussion stops. But I have serious doubts about her story. Just being from San Francisco doesn't make someone a Liberal. Now, maybe this kid is like me, he checks out Wing Nut Daily just to find out what the nuts are up to, and he's humoring his roommate. No true Liberal would be converted to Pat Buchanan and Wing Nuts Daily without either serious braindamage or drug therapy before hand.

Agreed. I am always very suspicious of the self-proclaimed "converted Liberals" who call Rush's show and thank him for showing them the "truth".

That would require a frontal lobotomy, and I doubt there were many brain surgeons in that audience.....

That is a tough one to do. That means teaching a lib to think for himself and not rely on the government to solve his problems.

      It's the old saying,

"Give me a fish and feed me for a day of teach me to fish and feed me for a lifetime."

Jesus never said what big bird posted.

Jesus said: "Whatever you do for the least of these, you do for Me." He told the rich young ruler: "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven." He said: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

The quote big bird gave has absolutely no basis in Christianity at all. In fact, it is counter to the teachings of Christ.

              It's a Chinese proverb.

              I like this:
Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Give a fish a man, and he'll eat for weeks!

Jesus also said "render unto Caeser what is Caeser's; render unto God what is God's"... a comment that is as explicit an endorsement of the seperation of Church and State as you can imagine, Notice how the evangelicals never quote THAT?

To the tune of $174,000/yr + benefits + yearly COLAs, and she receives farm subsidies on the family farm to boot!

          BACHMANN IS A SOCIALIST!!!!!!!!!

She is receiving something for nothing. She's a welfare queen.

Oh, the horror! Bachmann is enriched by sucking on the government's

I'm probably not the first one to point this out for you SH, but look just below peoples posts, there are two blue links. one says "reply" and the other says "report abuse". If you click the "reply" button you get to reply within the little comment thread you made. I'm just pointing this out because it just makes you look like an idiot when you post an obvious response to someone elses response several comment threads down the page.

Your comment implies that you're going to become a hermit in your house, or maybe get put out of it. Many mortgages are backed/underpinned by government spending, as are highways, bridges, roads, hospitals, libraries, public water systems (regulated by gov't agencies to insure quality), other public utilities (same reason as before + get gov't backed loans,) student loans, public & private schools and colleges, etc.

I really admire you for your willingness to give up these gov't influenced/supported services. You're a true conservative. I, on the other hand, will continue to pay my taxes and enjoy them.

FCOL, Seahags -- just move to Somalia.

        There's no recognized gov't -- IOW, a neoKKKon teabagger's paradise.

Don't worry -- with no gov't and no taxes, you'll be able to keep 100% of your earnings from, ahem, "ship asset re-appropriation."

I'm you want to convince me Obama is a secret Muslim who worships a Chairman Mao shrine and tax cuts are the answer to everything, save your time.
