All the dumbest, racist, prejudice, ignorant and un-educated are invited.

Did anyone catch those two people in the back standing and applauding? Probably the only other 2 in the california young americans for freedom. Seriously though, california young americans for freedom? and freedom has what to do with denying homosexuals the right to civil unions? I feel like every idiotic conservative right wing nutjob movement has the word freedom in it.

They have no idea how to reconcile their 19th Century ideology with a 21st Century America. They will continue to dig these holes until the only faces remaining in the room are those of white males - but even most of us white males will be over here on the left at the cool kids' party.

Carry on, CPAC. Jesus loves you.

I'll say this much, a gay Republican must be living with a lot of cognitive dissonance. Even so, I'm glad to see a few in there, as it might in time erode the bigotry masquerading as "social conservatism" in that party. If the GOP dropped all their objections to gay rights, I still wouldn't vote for a Republican because of their neanderthal economic and foreign policy views, but at least it'd be a step in the right direction.

I agree 100% Chris. As an openly gay man (one who has been out for quite a bit longer than it has been safe to be), I would certainly see any hypothetical openness to our folks by the GOP as a sign of their growing social maturity.

But the GOP has been behaving in a manner that has been dangerously bigoted, draconian, belligerant and irresponsble (ESPECIALLY with the TeaBag movement.) And they have far more to grow-up about than just their ugly and homocidal harangues against good LGBT people.

For the record, the few Log Cabin Republicans who I have had a chance to speak with do, indeed, exhibit a very confused identity. Sadly, they seem to be as angry, bigoted and battle-hungry as anyone else in the GOP. Many, in fact, display open hostility to other gay people who they consider too "flambouyant" (which is precisely the kind of guy i LOVE!)
So, in a nut-shell: yes, there is a fair degree of dissonance in that demographic, and that confusion reaches its apex in the likes of Peter Thiel and Jeff Gannon.

Sorba: "Civil rights are grounded in natural rights. Natural rights are grounded in human nature. Human nature is a rational substance in relationship [sic]. The intelligible end of the reproductive act is reproduction."

Well there's no arguing with that bulletproof logic, now is there?

You know, the intelligible end of the act of consumption is obtaining nourishment. So I condemn anyone at CPAC who has a glass of wine, smokes a cigarette, or even entertains a conversation with someone who thinks that anyone has a right to consume those poisons! In conclusion, I'd like to ask, "Who is John Galt?!?!" Woohoo!

I'll now leave the stage so that a woman can come on and defend my right to condemn CPAC for inviting anyone of an opposing viewpoint by claiming that I'm entitled to offer my opposing view.

I read part of his book online - cannot find good link now, and believe me its all sophomoric college paper about the history of Nambla etc -- but basically anyone who spends their entire Raison d'ĂȘtre trying to prove that homosexuality is an abomination must be a haunted man. Having personally been in support groups for straight spouses etc., this guy, like Ted Haggart, is a classic case, IMHO of course. And NOW, unfortunately he has a bit of fame. I glad that even CPAC booed him. Way to go with that compassionate conservativism! And people call liberals emotional.

So do neo-nazis have the freedom to go to CPAC and deny the holocaust. The first amendment right was originally meant to guarantee crucial rights but also to respect the rights of others as no one is guaranteed freedom of speech or assembly or anything else if they are impeding on the rights of others. This &#(*^ is impeding! i hope he got jumped and mugged after the meeting? is that not freedom of expression? What exactly does that shmuck mean when he says "You Just made an enemy out of me!!!"? Who cares? What, is he gonna blog the hell out of the other guy? Do a write-up in his go-nowhere conservative college journal? Not invite him to the next $549 TeaBagger picnic? "You Just watch!!! I'll make sure you'll NEVER see the inside of Bohemian Grove! EVER!!!!!!!"

Why has the word "enemy" become so integral to the far-right's description of every other American? That's a term that's been gaining a LOT of currency in the new-media conservative blog-jam, and while it voices a clearly a belligerant term, they use it so dramtically I just have to laugh. E.g. Breitbarts always frothing over about protecting Hanah and James from the "enemies"... ooooh, such intrigue!!!!!

I dont know why anyone should be scared of that little snark on the video, and its laughable that he might delude himself into thinking that others would be. Legend in his own mind, if I may say.

What is up with this bizarre moonie cult of angry young republicans acting like they're gangters? Who are they kidding? I mean, it actually makes me laugh, while at the same time, it seems so utterly freaked-out and annihilated.

For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. Romans 1:26-27

Well JohnRod, perhaps next time at Bible camp, you ought to be sure to get a little gold star next to your name... way to eeke out scriptural justification for your personal prejudices, your masters on the right will be proud.

BTW, how do you feel about shrimp, lobster, crab or pork? Like them chops much? Has all your meat come from the right end of an animal, and has it been blessed by a rabbi? Are you cool with the idea of Lot sleeping with his daughters? Do you maintain a far distance from menstrating women? Do you wash yourself obsessively after contact with them, or are those prohibitions that god has changed his mind about?

You know, it cracks me up when religious extremists flouder all over those parts of scripture that support their vanity and equivocates their bigotry, as if that's all they manage to get out of their books. And it really is quite telling that, apparently, that IS all they can get out of it.

I'm curious, though, as to what you think of the Sermon on the Mount? How often do THOSE values figure into your political rhetoric, the policies you support, or your attitudes about other people? When was the last time you gave to them who had need? (anything about Haiti?)

Considering the dismal history of genocidal brutality so endemic to your religion, you have no place to speak about what is, or is not natural OR moral... I doubt you'd know the difference (cant think of anything more unnatural than attributing human philosophies to other-worldly entities.)

---Peace, hope you can make good on the Beattitutdes, and do something of substance for someone who is truly needy. That's really the most Christian thing you can do... put your money where your mouth is, sunshine.

CPAC speaker "condemn[s] CPAC for bringing" gay GOP group "to this event"

This is nothing new. The discrimination fighting is still on going in this country. If there was only one race of people in this country, they would still find a way to discriminate. Free Will has its benefits and its burdens! We just witnessed a burden right there with that fool!

That smarmy prick kid thinks he's a tough guy! What's up with conservatives waving their junk around like they got something to prove? Didn't Dubya say the same thing to Al-Qaeda..."Bring it the fcuk on!"?

I saw this last night on the RMS and thought to myself, "This Sorba guy more than likely closeted AND a dumba$$." And yes, that clip from his 5 minutes of CPAC fame may some day soon come back to haunt him. Karma can be a beeatch!

"Sorba: "Civil rights are grounded in natural rights. Natural rights are grounded in human nature. Human nature is a rational substance in relationship [sic]. The intelligible end of the reproductive act is reproduction.""

And what does a reproductive act have to do with whom a person falls in love? Love is love no matter between who. As a person who manages 20-somethings as residents and staff members of a douple of college residence halls, I know plenty of married (or not married) folks who should never have been able to procreate. Any woman [or couple], barring physiological issues, can make/have a baby, but it takes much more to raise that progeny to adulthood responsibly which I think Mr. Sorba, and his rant indicated perfectly.

When you gather this many crazies in one place, doesn't it qualify as an insane asylum? Is that really what the Republican party is aiming for? Is this really how they wish to portray themselves? You know, everything they say is contrary to freedoms, constitutions, and everything America stands for. When the tea baggers call for "watering the tree of liberty," it would be more appropriate to water that tree with Republicans--they are the traitors in this scenario but just don't get it.

If I were a member of GOProud, when CPAC said we could sponsor and attend, but not speak, I'd have been through with all conservatives/republicans for life.

Ah, but the funny thing is we WERE allowed to speak and were represented on two panels and had a HIGHLY trafficked booth in the exhibit hall.

The crowd reax to Ryan's tirade has shot a whole in the liberal meme that conservatives hate gays.

Get ready Obama... we are coming for you. And we are a bunch of angry gays.
