-_- At least come up with your own material, jerk. We've been accused of destroying America HUNDREDS of times.

I can just imagine the audience. "Oh, the left are SOCIALISTS, who want to DESTROY America? Wow, that's news to me. I didn't see hear that a dozen times on.... Wednesday."

        I know right?

You'd think we'd have gotten destroying America right by now.

I mean, according to the right, we control the media, the education system and Hollywood.

Thanks Newt. All I need to hear is "Secular". Anyone who thinks we should be merging religious and state power is a fcuking fool who has no credibility.

Gingrich is a radical wingnutl and a hpocrite who talks family values, but thinks it's ok to have an affair while getting the President impeached for the same thing and it is his hypocrisy that will destroy America

Most folks I know would consider someone to be a hypocritical war-hawk NOW, if you stayed in college (until you got a PhD!) to avoid fighting when your country needed YOU to fight.

"I would have never said this at any time before" - yeah, Newt, because you know how irresponsible and dangerous such rhetoric is, but you're such a spineless, pathetic sleazebag that you'll play with the fire of the violent far-right in order to make short-term political gain.

Seriously, this is extremely dangerous: if one claims that Obama, Reid, Democrats, liberals, etc., are deliberately trying to destroy the United States, one tacitly supports and endorses an assassination attempt. It seems increasingly likely that someone is going to be killed from all this.

I know that Tea Partiers are predominantly peaceful and well-intentioned, and I don't say this to demonize conservatives. However, by completely ignoring the violent, racist fringe that disproportionately makes up the vocal right-wing in this country, CPAC leaders are ignoring what could be catastrophic instability - and probably several murders. I'm grateful for the few that have spoken out (Goldberg, O'Reilly), but the majority are encouraging violent, hateful, anti-American rhetoric. This has to stop.

God Bless the USA and all the god-given rights that go along with living here! Doesn't mean I believe his drivel, but praise Allah he has the right to spew it. Imagine the day that we lose that right ... it COULD happen you know ... just not on the liberal watch, I hope.

The President has proposed a televised, bipartisan discussion on healthcare reform while CPAC is demonizing the left as the enemy of mom, Chevy and apple pie, yet we're the ones out to destroy America?

Funny how we're always being accused of destroying America. The righties sure are confident of America's destructibility, aren't they?

It's like they don't really have confidence its staying power, as if they don't really believe in it, huh?

He's setting up the left to wear the jacket when it does falter, as it may soon, due largely to the previous GOP reign of error. Then they'll say we should try it their way this time.

They all sound like Beck now. Gingrich is now saying to remove 'secular progressives' from office at all levels. No compromise with these extremists. Only 'elimination.' The Limbaugh doctrine if I remember correctly.

How long does he think America would last if we abolished all public services and left everyone on their own? Maybe there's a reason why the Ayn Rand model hasn't been attempted on any appreciable scale.

"slow the debate down"?! More than the Republicans have slowed it down for the past year?

He is a nihilist... not religiously but in the terms of organized society. The logical end to this is anarchy...the survival of the fitest in some sort of police state, theocracy where the churches and the military industrial complex are in total control.

CPAC is the place where faux Christians meet to show how Christ-like they are by spewing their special brand of hate and filth against our nation and its' citizens. I sincerely believe that neither God nor Jesus would claim ownership of any of these people. The New Testament says that what a person allows to come out of his/her mouth is what is in that person's heart.

Christ would be appalled at the things being said in His name at this hatefest.

Cracks me up that evangelical Christians have aligned themselves with folks like Limbaugh, Armey, Gingrich, Beck, et al. These folks, if they were part of the body in which these evangelical Christians worshipped, would be shunned for their many divorces and their lack of living within the precepts of the Bible [acquiring earthly wealth, bearing false witness, coveting their neighbor's property, etc.] It's not "conservatism," it is Right Wing Authoritarianism.

Psa 52:1-5 - Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually. Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah. Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue. God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

So the enemy is fellow Americans who have a different viewpoint than you Newt? Good thing you never joined the military because you may have shot your fellow soldiers for the good of the country huh? For a history professor you are certainly ignorant of the fact that this is a secular country. Sad.

So secularism is bad... according to Wikipedia, secularism is the concept that government or other entities should exist separately from religion and/or religious beliefs. Considering this convention is a gathering of all the conservative voices, it appears that they seem to be increasingly embracing a religious state view...

Is that what our forefathers wanted?
