As a conservative I feel that speeches like this don't really push conservatism forward. I haven't seen all the speeches at CPAC but from what I've seen they aren't focusing as much on the issues as they should be. They're attacking waaaay too much.

        Couldn't agree more. It's more of Glenn Beck's immortal argument: "Arf-arf! Bow-wow! Woof-woof-woof!"

        Really? Really?...Really?

I'm amazed you expected anything else. From all I've seen this year, there was no indication that any gathering of "conservatives" WOULDN'T turn into a feel good circle jerk of bitter hate. That's what CPAC is all about. Justifying your positions with oh-so-witty "jokes" at the expense of anyone you disagree with while screaming "WE'RE RIGHT! SO FCUK YOOOOOOOOU!". Oh and like Tuffguy McGaybasher shout (paraphrasing) "Brang it Ohn!" "You made an enemy today because you think gays should have rights!" "So brang it THE FCUK ONNNNN!"

You're just getting this!!!??? When have any of these conservatives done anything but attack? That's it, no solutions, just threats and attacks. It's lame childish and ironically they keep screaming about how Liberals are out to destroy the country thru socialistic covert means. It's disgraceful! There is no such thing as conservatism, it's a joke.....For 8 years under Bush there with this Patriot, "you're either with us or against us" meme...and now it's worse. Conservatism is bringing this country to its Knees. they need to grow up and come into the 21st century, they can STFU

I hate to break it to you but Bush wasn't a conservative. He didn't govern as a conservative. He ticked off a lot of conservatives, especially towards the end of his term.

Conservatism is not a joke. You can compare the states run by conservatives to ones run by liberals and tell a difference. Off the top of my head compare the economies of Alaska and Texas to California and Michigan.

Yeah, gee, Bush ticked off the conservatives so much that they started a "movement" right after he left office.

You're right, Bush was not a conservative, but then neither is your hero Beck. The hatefest called CPAC represented nothing even CLOSE to conservatism.

Um, you are aware that Alaska is one of the largest welfare states in the country, right? For every dollar Alaska pays in federal taxes, they receive almost two dollars back from the federal government. Also, before Sweet Sister Sarah decided to tuck her tail and quit, Alaska was facing almost a $2 billion budget shortfall. Texas is doing fairly good, but unemployment and the economy are trending in the same direction as the country as a whole, just at a slightly lower level.

California and Michigan's problems have little to do with the political ideology of the governance of the state.

Nice try, but you fail, as usual.

You are posting a false talking point, btw. Most of the states hardest hit by the recession are in the South and they are controlled by conservatives. You really should research these things before you repeat them.

Coulter does not know nothing of politics. Here whole TV and radio apperances plus writing books is not on facts but on pure slander.

May I ask WHY, Crazy Annie?

There must be a REASON for the POTUS to resign his office.

And, it's not as though President Obama

      - ordered the wiretapping of a political rival and tried to cover it up
      - outed a covert CIA agent as political payback
      - wiretapped US citizens without warrants
      - invaded two nations on specious evidence in response to a terrorist attack

Again, there must be a REASON for him to resign. Please note: "I don't like him" does NOT constitute an acceptable reason . . .

If Obama were to resign (for what reason?), Joe Biden would become President. Would conservatives like that? I don't think it would stop their little bickering spats.

Well, he IS a 67-year-old white guy -- that may not stop their bickering, but they'd be happier to have in office someone who looks like one of "them" . . .
