Yes, the minority has hijacked America by comprising the majority of the voters. I hate when that happens.

Limbaugh spent the whole of Clinton's administration counting the days that America had been "held hostage" while the economy and budget were healed. Now the clown prince Beck claims that the other side has "hijacked" the country while he tries to rouse the rabble while contributing absolutely nothing of any real value.

For such tough talking bozos they certainly get taken hostage and hijacked quite a bit.

I've spent most of my adult life biting my tongue and keeping my opinions to myself because I am a Liberal. I make no apologies for that. I have spent most of my life feeling outnumbered and isolated. I am in the minority. I lost my job at a Catholic school because I wasn't conservative enough for them. But according to Glenn, I am the one who has made him feel isolated? I have hijacked America? Frankly, I don't think President Obama has been liberal enough. I put up with him, because he is as close as we are going to get. The Democrats won in 2008. Why don't the Republicans accept that and work with the system? Why doesn't Glennie give it a rest, because if he gets his way, there will be blood spilt.

The Republicans can't work within a system that they are constantly trying to destroy. They profess to "love" this country, but they hate the government and the vast majority of people who live here. Only conservative nutjobs like Beck can actually call the majority the minority and get away with it. I know many reasonable conservatives, most of whom are social liberals, that hate what this faction of their party is doing, but they also tend to downplay it, saying "Well, the left has its crazies too." However, I don't think they realize that the inmates are running the asylum now. Yes, we have some seriously wacked out folks on our side of the aisle, but they aren't leading the party. They don't have audiences of millions believing the crap they simply make-up on a daily basis. Until moderate Republicans wake-up, I think we are in for a very rough ride, and like you said, perhaps even a violent one.

All of us liberals MUST unite and stop this NOW. Here is how we should do it.

      1) First, we should choose to abort all our babies, immediately.
      2) Then, we will take the guns away from all the law-abiding citizens, that way the criminals will be able to take what they want from those evil capitalists.
      3) Next, we suppress all speech that does not promote liberalism and progressivism...our way is the ONLY way.
      4) We must outlaw organized religion.
      5) 2 legs bad, 4 legs good.
      6) We need to spend, spend, spend until all the banks fail, then bail them out and start all over again.

      "The minority shouldn't hijack it."

Hmmm. Very well put, Glenn. Why don't you pack up your chalkboard, and toddle off to the Senate, and explain to the 41 Republicans there that they should stop trying to hijack and obstruct the legitimate business of governing?

By the way? Writing numbers on a blackboard is fun to watch, but with no source for said numbers, it's just your say-so, and you are a proven liar. Next time, try doing research, and citing your sources. I predict they will be evenly split between the Lewin Group, the Heritage Foundation, and Rasmussen polling, but at least you could pretend to make the effort, all right?

Lastly, what on earth makes you think a fringe wingnut such as you and those who follow you get to claim the moderates of this nation for your own? They are as sick of you as they are of extreme liberals. Problem is, extreme liberals don't own the media, so those moderates have had far far less exposure to the very far left. I suspect that's why the Faux Cons got voted out in 2006 and 2008, but that's just a guess.

You besmirch the true rodeo clowns by trying to number yourself among them. The closest you come to being a rodeo clown is being completely full of bullspit.

I for one appreciate the fact that we do not have majority rule, that we have a democratic republic.

I feel the Republicans try to tell me what to do with my body and the Democrats try to tell me what to do with my property. Both legislate morality by forcibly inducing contributions to their fiscally irresponsible agencies OR by trying to tell me who I can marry, what I can ingest into my own body, or whatever.

I'm so tired of all this fighting to see who gets to tell me what to do with things that don't belong to them. I want to see fighting to let me decide what's best for me.

Now, we do have to give some credit to Beck for speaking some truth. By acknowledging that a "minority" (in wingnuttia math) was able to hijack America away from Becks imaginary "majority", he's admitting that he and his fellow conservatives are so powerless and incompetent, they couldn't even stop the "minority".

I mean, if you run around boasting that you have the smartest, toughest, most battle hardened people on your side, would you really admit in public that you got your butt whipped by people that you consider inferior? Doesn't really build too much confidence on the abilities of the people on your side.

"America The Conservative" is a recurring narrative on the right, one I've always taken as an effort to bolstering the morale of the base. Unfortunately, far too many seem to have lost track of what it actually is, and to have bought into their own BS. I've written about this a lot over time--I put in a piece back in November about the kinds of poll results that are always cited by the likes of Beck as their "evidence." As I wrote then:

"The hard, cold political reality facing the right today... is that the U.S. isn't a conservative nation. What's more, that conclusion isn't even particularly controversial for anyone who has examined the matter in any detail; for the most part, it isn't even close. Public opinion is more heavily polled in the U.S. than in any other country on earth. On issue after issue, Americans are not only with the liberals, but with them overwhelmingly... One is hard pressed to find a single major public policy issue on which the liberals don't hold an overwhelming advantage in public sentiment."

And I cited lots of poll results to back this up.

People like Glenn Beck are dangerous and shouldn't be underestimated. It's one thing if you stand up in front of people and rant the truth. It's quite another to be allowed air time to rant incendiary lies, which is what Hitler and Goebbels did. I'm not sure what Becks agenda is but you can be certain it's somehow connected to the fact that sponsors are pulling adds from his show. It will be very difficult for even FOX "News" to remove him from his soap box if wing-nuts demand he be left on the air.

I can't help but wonder what our government will do when Beck's raving leads to the inevitable violence it is trying to provoke.

I'm still waiting for ANY FORM of policy construction or even recommendation from Beck, Palin, Gingrich, Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly.....

They're perfecting the art of tapping into the emotions of strayed Christians who think everyone else has strayed from the path of enlightenment....

This is how new religions are formed, not new gov't policy.

As of now, I have NO CLUE what Repubots actually want to change (other than giving rich tax-breaks, taking away gov't assistance to the poor, and allowing drug cartels to flourish from our drug policy) concerning our gov't....and THAT, the idea of not knowing what they want, scares me more than "terrorists" do any day of the week!

It seems as if most "policies," at least the senate Repubots act like they want, Bush did....and we see (AND FEEL) how that turned out...as LITTLE as Repubots want to "look back," their policy is the driving force of poverty and death. The SOONER we look to the past, the SOONER we won't repeat the same mistakes (we...as in the EDUCATED).

I wonder, if Bush had been in office just ONE more year, when everything started crumbling, would Obama face less criticism? I say this, because, hicks in my town LITERALLY think that the Economic crash coincides with Obama taking office...which is just pathetic...

If the Repubots would stop trying to prove a point and actually govern for the people, we'd be in a different place....one of the problems is, ELECTED OFFICIALS HAVE NO ACCOUNTABILITY.

Nobody is punished or pointed out when they push for bad policy or vote against good policy and tout it as their own.

It comes down to the voters....if we can get the 18-35 yr old crowd to the voting booths this Nov., we WILL NOT have a problem in gaining the majorities back in Washington.

I mean, it's a freaking fundraiser for a political party. Fox should steer as far away as possible - if they want to be taken seriously. Which I assume is the point: Fox could care less how this appears, as long as the can help advance the Republicans agenda.
