Typical Billy... he had a 50/50 chance of being right and he picked the wrong party--again.

If Kristol gets bit by a rabid dog he'll proclaim it's the best thing that has happened to his health in recent times.

There's a HUGE difference between off-topic posts intended to derail a thread without a clear intention to actually discuss the topic(s) covered by the article MMFA produced, and posts that reply to another person's post with a reply that's directly related to that person's post that does NOT have an intent to derail a thread so that the subject of the MMFA article doesn't get discussed.

This isn't rocket science. It's really not.

You are very correct Del Dolly. I don't understand why Jeter2 doesn't understand the basic difference. Although I don't mind people taking things off topic so much, as long as it isn't one big, long parsing match like you get with MagCynic or Right On. Those give me a headache.

(So sorry, my kitten made my finger slip)

What I'm saying is that nobody needs a lecture or wants a lecture. They're not effective. I would have guessed that you'd have learned that by now. So that's not rocket science either, as this has been pointed out to you time and again by at least a dozen posters.

Live and let live. If you have a point to make, make it and move on and quit getting in other people's business. You don't like the parsing contests with Magcynic, RightOn, et al., have the control to ignore it. That's what I do.

You don't like the off topic posts, ignore them. End of MY lecture.

                                      Carry on ;-)

Of course, the Tea Party has been good for the Republican Party. Without the Tea Party the Republican Party would have completely fallen off the map. In effect, the Republican Party is being kept breathing by the fruitcake tea baggers. I guess that's a good thing to Kristol...

Actually, the Republican party is trying to co-opt the tea partiers who are largely Libertarians who hate Republicans as much as Democrats. But since they're getting some cred from having some nationally known speakers, I guess they're letting the Republicans have some traction.

But I agree they are kinda dumb people. And they don't seem to have a firm goal in mind.

What, exactly, is the Tea Party Movement's manifesto? Other than no taxes and apparently wanting to hand everything over to Pharm companies - is it actually stated somewhere? Its obviously been fantastic for Dems and if R's are attached to all the racist homophobes speaking at CPAC - been very positive in proving why Republicans aren't looking too good to minorities.

You know, 'tea party' is slang for something besides being an ignorant racist hick, Mr. Kristol. It used to mean smoking marijuana. If it is the latter definition you meant, then kindly legalize, so it's not just the well-to-do sons of rich white men that can indulge without fear of the law. MMM-kay? And, if it wasn't the second definition you meant, perhaps you should look into it.

The Tea Party has become the attack arm of the republican party. Anytime they see something that they don't like, they send out misinformation, like Obama taking away their rights or a bill killing grandma, to the Tea Party and get them riled up over it.

When republicans get what they want, they say that the Tea Party isn't that big and has no real influence. Remember how Scott Brown did that after he was elected?

Do you think that the Tea Party is going to go away once Obama and Peloci are driven out of office or do you think that they'll stay around and bite the republicans in the end once they start making the same mistakes that they always do?

The tea party is doing way better than it should, because the mainstream media seems going out of its way to present them as normal people. Just look at the CPAC coverage by Brian Williams on the Nightly News last week. They Hyped up Cheney's statement that Obama will be a one-term president but gave virtually no coverage at all of the wild, nonsensical statements by numerous other speakers. Many of them made gaffes of a sort that would have been harped on to death if said by a Democrat.
I think Media Matters should start a "Brian Williams watch" and a "David Gregory watch". These are two repubs, rather sneakily pretending to be fair, open-minded people. They are more dangerous than Beck or Limbaugh because everyone instantly knows when those two start speaking where they are coming from and that they are totally nuts. However, Williams and Gregory know how to appear objective to the uninformed while doing every trick of the trade to favor repubs.

        Jim,

I've seen/read plenty of coverage by the MSM about the loon extremists involved in the Tea Party as well as the more sane element which I believe are "normal" folks. Unfortunately I think the fringe has taken over whatever their original cause was & the Tea Party is quickly becoming a joke as well as a tad dangerous.

I'm a Conservative, & know a great many Conservatives & none are involved with this group or even paying much attention to them. I'm not sure this so called movement is a big as the media would lead us to believe, they just get loads of coverage.

I don't listen to Brian Williams but I do catch David Gregory on Meet The Press. I think he plays fair. Or at least tries to.

You are right. We worry so much about Fox but we know exactly who they are and what they do. It's more worrisome that the MSM tskes these guys seriously and doesn't interrogate them about their real beliefs. Chris Matthews occasionally will ask the right questions but even that is few and far between. I want to know why Palin wore a Israeli flag pin, I think I know the reason but I want to hear it from her lips. I don't mind people having religious beliefs that center around wanting to start a religious war to bring about the return of their savior but I don't like them hiding this fact and trying to get into public office. Tell us the truth and let us decide whether or not we are ok with this.
