Is anyone listening to Hume anymore since he never has anything useful to say?

Whatever spiritual decision Tiger and Elin make, it's their decision to make.

Bill O': "And now we have a satellite link coming in from Osama bin Laden."
{bin Laden as a talking head appears on screen)
        "Good evening Mr. bin Laden"

Osama: "How are you doing Bill?...Well, I Agree with Brit somewhat, but feel that Tiger would be much better off if he were to follow Islam. We also teach that marriage is a binding contract between a MAN and a WOMAN. And we also allow for women to divorce their husbands, so maybe Mrs. Woods would not have had to resort to smashing the windshield of that beautiful escalade. Well how about that...Islam shares some of the same values with Christianity"

Bill O': "Well that's an interesting point, Mr. bin Laden, but we're out of time and we'll have to leave it there."

Hey. I could see it happening

        That's a bit excessive. In fact, that's extra-ordinarily excessive, and perhaps self-indulgent.

        COME ON!

What Brit Hume said, initially, was embarrassing enough. And his initial defense of his statements was even worse.

But, come on: Can't you do better than this? Explain how Brit's idiotic statements rise (or, rather, sink) to the level of "Bin-Ladenesque?"

Mr. News, I usually enjoy your commentary. But, C'mon... don't you think your last comment was ust a BIT superlative?

I happen to think that Tiger Woods has a better chance of patching up his marriage if he gave up golf and, instead, took up the Olympic sport of curling. It's far less glamorous than golf and doesn't seem to attract porn stars and hookers as groupies...and it is such an EXCITING sport.

Last I checked, there are LIBERAL Christians too. So unless you are insisting that liberals are inherently Godless, I am very curious how this corresponds to MMFA's creed.

The word secular has been used as a curse by many pesudo christian talking heads.

MMfa doesn't have a creed in this context, or am I missing something?

Pastafarianism has some followers on site but generally we refuse to become a creed. That way leeds to madness!

The interplay between various neocon talking heads is part of the MMfa writ.

You can see this on some of todays threads regarding reactions to Beck's rant at last weekends CPAC.

Thats just the bare bones of it.

Occasionally one of our talking heads speaks the truth. MMfa will make a thread of it.

Comenting on a threads apparent lack of relevence is commonly shortened to WITH, "why is this here." Some posters become quite enamored to throwing out a WITH.

Please stop feeding this dishonest troll.

Hume suggesting that Christianity is the best way furthers the conservative agenda, and perfectly fits with MMFA's agenda of pointing that out. A person employed with a legitimate news organization shouldn't be helping the conservative agenda.

Will someone please tell Brit Hume and all the other Christians that the god they worship - Yahweh - is a johnny-come-lately among ancient deities? One can find no reference to this particular Canaanite divinity - just one among many - much before 1000 BC, whereas we have records of gods from ancient Egypt and Sumer going back thousands of years prior to that time.

Does Hume think that anyone possessed of a real spirituality - Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu, Judaic, Sikh, Rasta, Christian, Secular or whatever - is impressed by his dissing of another faith? Won't he realize it just turns people against all spirituality, and his in particular? Yuck!

I am a lifelong Buddhist. I went to houju-youchien at a very young age. I am Irish but learned well of post war Japan as an insider. Something very few people will or could ever see from that period. Mr. Hume made me very very angry. My wife and I are floored by the attitude. She is a PHD cancer researcher in Houston where there are a huge amount of Buddhists, as 98% of the PhD level research being done there are from cultures that are predominantly Confucius, Buddhist and Shinto. Really, this is racism. This is Christian supremacy. I would not be so appalled, but when I am on the beach in Galveston Texas and I am surrounded by 20 PhD’s all of them from Japan, and when the fat ass group of beer touting rednecks ( and I mean very fat) threatens our friends, it is only when this Irish south Boston Buddhist takes no crap do they back down, I can only put them and people like hume in the same category. They are scared. They should be scared. They are on the endangered racist list. There will be no charity for their survival. I am sorry if I offend anyone. I am just so very sick of people who try to shove some sort of deity down our throats when we would NEVER do that to them. In the same vein as his comments I would suggest for you Brit, that you take a look at your self interest and re-evaluate your actions for your family, your job, and how exactly are you helping the human condition. My suggestion is that you need to take that “get out of jail free card” and take some real responsibility for yourself. Not that you ever will though, your entire wealth is at the expense of others. This does come back you though. So we all get paid your dividends. Thanks!

It's the arrogance of Hume's statements that is so insulting. Why would a "newsman" pretend to believe that he has the answer for Tiger or anybody else? If he were truly a truth-seeker, as journalists are supposed to be, wouldn't he be a bit curious about Buddhism? I have worked with men like Brit and it is a sad situation for these guys that they are so sure of their own belief system that they feel so righteous in their ignorance.
