Other things Obama is responsible for: Nevada Republican Governor Jim Gibbons, people!

CBS affiliate KLAS-TV reports that Gibbons was recently deposed regarding allegations of an assault that occurred in 2006. The federal civil suit was brought by Chrissy Mazzeo, a cocktail waitress who says that Gibbons assaulted and groped her in a parking lot after spending hours drinking at a Las Vegas restaurant.

The alleged assault never resulted in any criminal charges, but on February 5 of this year, the governor was deposed for four hours by Mazzeo's attorney, Bob Kossack. During the deposition, Gibbons claimed that he hasn't been sexually intimate with any woman since 1995, and that he's "living proof that you can survive without sex for that long."

Two of the women Gibbons says he hasn't been intimate with are Kathy Karrasch, a married woman with whom the governor exchanged hundreds of late night text messages, and Leslie Durant, a former Playboy model who accompanied Gibbons to a rodeo in Reno.

I think I'd rather accept the charges than make that statement.

It's kind of ironic that on Feb. 23, they're ridiculing Reid for making research available on the link between higher than usual unemployment and increased domestic abuse, but on Feb. 24, they admit what Reid said is true and take it a step farther by having an AA come on Fuchs Noose and blame President Obama for the rise of domestic abuse in Nevada.

This is an old trick of some conservatives to have other AAs criticize Obama and/or other AAs, as if anyone listens to these folks. It is the same in my local newspaper's editorial pages. They use AA conservative writers to bash the president. What they don't know is that few AAs believe what these writers/pundits say about anything. If they think they can use people like Harris, Blackwell, Steele, and other conservative AAs to bring AAs into the Republican Party, all I can say is good luck with that. We know the republicans/conservatives don't care about anyone who is not a member of their exclusive little clique. They don't even care about their supporters, they're only using them for their own political/economic gain, so why would any sane person think they would care about anyone else?

Unfortunately, as long as it doesn't cost them anything with their peers, they have no problem living with stupidity (and hate).
Consider the source (white host) and consider the traget (black man)... then you can begin to understand how they get away with it. All of this is leading to civil unrest in America. This you can believe.

Now it's the President's fault that unemployed men are beating their wives? What's next, is Dick Cheney's heart attack the President's fault, too? What about Mitch McConnell's obvious constipation? Give it a rest, Rethin'.

I bet you some how they will tie Dick Cheney's health in with the health care bill. Maybe they will go all South Park and inject money straight into Dick to heal him, wouldn't that be a capitalist cure?

As if Gibbons' lack of action isn't to blame for Nevada's economy. Nevada's economy is based mainly on tourism. Why didn't Gibbons look into developing a more diverse economy? IMHO, he didn't do it mainly because it did not affect him, and he was entirely too busy chasing tail other than his now ex-wife's.

But see it's our duty as American's to go to Vegas and leave all our money there that should have been spent on loans, rent, food, health care, ect. so that all the people in Nevada wont have to worry about the recession.

Mr. Harris there are two reasons why Fox News have you on their program.
1). You are willing to further their attack and criticsm of the President.
      2). You are a uncle-tom.

Mr. Harris you are a Fool to speak ill or criticize your brother (the president) for the sheer delight of HIS enemies> Who, by the way, would treat you the same if you were president.
Mr. Harris, how long have you been on this earth and how long have you been "black"?
You are unworthy to represent anyone other than yourself.

Excuse me, but it is not appropriate for a (presumably) white person to call a black person an "Uncle Tom" in this derogatory manner.

I think you need to read up on how that term became derogatory in the first place. I'm not trying to be a jerk, more like giving you a heads up "That ain't cool" nudge.

Of course I know where the phase "uncle-tom" came from and it isn't a "slur" when spoken by other blacks.

He's like Michael Steele--in deep denial for thinking that after the way the conservatives have shown their hatred for Obama, that they'd feel any different about them. Surely they can't think that bringing back the kinder, gentler America of the 1950s & 60s will be a win for them. I lived through it, and in no way was it a win for AAs and millions of others in America.
