The Troglodytes needed a relatively attractive Asian-looking woman to front their book justifying the incarceration of Japanese Americans, which they thought would in turn justify perpetual incarceration of alleged Terrorists at Gitmo. Thus, Malkin's career as a Corporate Shill was born.

ah yes. american lawyers who are representing clients because they must, and must do the best job they can must be committing treason since they are representing muslims, instead of doing the job assigned to them.

the canon's of ethics say a lawyer must zealously represent their client. i guess that only applies to white americans only.

What does salary have to do with anything? You better believe they have our best interests in mind. By defending these people zealously, they are showing that the American way is the right way. You are entitled to a fair trial.

If you were accused of a heinous crime, and practically convicted by the media, BUT you were innocent (and I am not saying any of these people Malkin is referring to are innocent), wouldn't you want a zealous advocate? If we apply different standards to different defendants depending on the charges, are we really following the laws that make our country the best in the world?

angels is referring to the fact that malkin is accusing these gitmo lawyers of committing treason for doing their jobs. which was building off my point of that you are entitled to a good defense only if you are a white american. muslims of any stripe are exempt from such zealous representation

in a nutshell, yes. Why shouldn't we show the world how superior our system is by treating those "irregular combatants" who commit attacks or attempted attacks on our country as the criminals they are, under our system of laws?

Why should we elevate them to military status when they are not acting as members of any country's military, but rather members of a religious (or using the excuse of religion) sect known to be on the extreme fringe?

because fox news and the republicans are appealing to the lowest common denominator, instead of trying to appeal to the best. they want ratings and they want absolute power like they had from 2001-2007 and are willing to lie and do anything they can to achieve it.

we shouldnt treat them as soldiers, to me they are nothing more than criminals. there was actually an idea from ron paul that i really liked. issue letters of marque and treat terrorists as pirates.

Surely if Michele Malkin is ever accused of a crime, she will seek out a lawyer who has "the best interests" of the prosecution at heart, and not her own. Otherwise, she'd look hypocritical here.

In the cacophony of silly Republican Talking Points, this is one of the most ridiculous. These lawyers are doing their jobs within the framework of our judicial system. Lawyers have defended all sorts of criminals throughout our history... child murderers, cannibals, mass killers, and terrorists and traitors.

It is one of our founding principles that ALL accused are entitled to a defense. Period.

This is just another mindless talking point designed to pi$$ off the uneducated, ignorant, racist FOXbots.

I agree completely, nerzog. Further, the lawyers representing those incarcerated at Gitmo have not only a very difficult job, but also a thankless one, and to add insult to injury, Michelle Malkin! Come on down! Because she'll say anything, if the Price Is Right.

So if we are a nation of laws and justice we punish our enemies by denying them justice by our laws? How can someone be brought to trial withot a laywer? If you don't have a lawyer its really not a trial isn't it? I guess Becky's right then just SHOOT THEM IN THE HEAD! SHOOT THEM IN THE HEAD!

Oddly enough, that's exactly what the Soviet Union did with its prisoners. Stalin gave them show trials, then had them marched into a room with a drain in the floor and shot in the back of the head.

Nostradumbass wants us to be like Stalin!

Back to basics...How can it be that a vast number of Americans believe this crap? Within a year, after the Repubs lose more status, the NeoCon mouthpieces will up the hate and demand that the only GREAT American is one who carries a weapon to a political meeting and uses it to prove that the ConWorld is the only important world. Just like the nutty Congressman praised the killer who crashed his plane. Yes, he was a murderer.

Michelle, where were you when the Vice President, Cheney, was pushing for Halliburton to get the millions of dollars in contracts at the company he used to run? Also, a place filled with ex-military who ended up as lobbyists for Halliburton and acquired millions for that company.

If you just say, " I FORGOT" then we will forgive you. I will use my over-used line..As an investigative-type journalists, you couldn't find Shaquille O'Neal at a nuns' picnic. (I have previously used midgets' by was called out on it).

Every time Malkin opens her mouth I KNOW that something stupid and offensive is going to pop out. And she didn't disappoint me this time either. What an idiot. So we are to be all upset that the DOJ has lawyers in it that defended Gitmo detainees. Yeah those big bad detainees don't deserve a fair trial or competant defense attorneys. Just judge them guilty and execute them. That's the American way right Malkin? Hey lets just get of out legal system for everyone while we are at it. If you are accused of a crime you are to be considered automatically guilty! Having a defense attorney or a trial by jury is just so faggy. Just pass sentence! "You've been accused of burglary. I find you guilty! Ten years in prison for you!" See how simple our "justice" system could be! In and out in 5 minutes!
