It really barfs me out how he has this whole, "What would Ronald Reagan do?" segment. Sean, the guy is dead. Okay? It is time to move on and perhaps see the world as it is today, in 2010, not is 1961, when Reagan did this clip.

Actually, I think Hannity was going public that he HATES Medicare because it's "socialized medicine." What did he say-- it was true then, and during Clinton, and now?

A truly bizarre segment-- and those Dems he had on for rebuttal! Totally useless.

I couldn't believe he played that record-- and also failed to note that Reagan didn't have the same view 20 years later....

And remember, these people who can't stop worshipping Ronald Reagan 21 years after his Presidency ended and who want to name everything larger than a bread box after him derisively call Obama "the Messiah" and refer to Administration supporters as "Kool Aid Drinkers."

          Talk about Projection.

They don't even really miss Reagan. They miss the Reagan Myth they created- the one where Reagan single-handedly defeated the USSR, slashed taxes but never raised them, balanced the budget and shrunk the government.

In other words, the Reagan who never existed, except in their pea-sized brains.

Great. I'm sure the conservatives will put you on talking tour so you can tell all the seniors why you want to take away their medicare, and explain to their children and grandchildren why is it that CONSERVATIVES want to "kill grandma"?

Seriously. If you guys actually told the public that you OPPOSE medicare, I don't think a conservative would ever get elected again.

        What a bunch of tools.

Yes, Ronald Reagan said that medicare was the slippery slope towards socialized medicine.

Kinda... gives a new perspective on how people SHOULD be viewing fear campaigns. Medicare passed. Are your kids coming up and asking what it was like to have freedom?

      No? That's weird.

What Reagan actually said is that mere Medicare-like proposals at the time (1963) were indeed in FACT socialized medicine.

Well, Medicare IS a form of Socialized medicine, as the Tea Baggers describe it. And, so are Fire Departments, Police Departments, Street Departments, the school system, etc.

Reagan's predictions that doctors would no longer have the freedom to choose where they practice, because the government will order them to a specific hospital in a specific part of the country.

If I used the "denier" mentality... that was wrong so his whole premise is wrong.

It would be REALLY funny if he followed this up by ranting about how Obama was a traitor for engaging Iran.

Don't get me wrong, Beck is as dumb as a stump. But he looks like a MENSA member compared to poor Sean. He is without a doubt, the boringest, stupidest, most pathetic, uninteresting person who's ever been on the TeeVee.

I can almost understand the average Beck fans fascination with their guy, he's got that batschit crazy gene, that's obvious. But what brings back the Hannity fan day after grueling day? Do they just enjoy painful experiences?

I'm really trying to understand here.

Beck is crazy...I really think he sometimes dip into full-fledged insanity. His lack of formal education demonstrates huge gaps in his knowledge. But he's so delusional he thinks he's brilliant.

Hannity, on the other hand, is just plain dumb as a stump. And he seems to revel in his stupidity...

I have to laugh when people like Beck, O'Reilly, Hannity, Scarborough, Mika Brzyzenski (sic) talk about their books as if they actually wrote them. Who the hell do they think they are kidding?

Ronald Wilson Raygun (666) multiplied the national debt.

No one else achieved that dubious distinction until junior came along.

One possible cure to pay future medicare costs would be if all who do not believe in the social aspect of the program would just refuse to accept any payments from it when they are older and sick. What will it take to make Americans see one party is mostly for big business and the other party is a little more interested in working for all the people who will never be millionaires? If the costs of health insurance get so high few can buy will that spell the death to most health insurance companys? A self regulating industry---over priced and out of business? Is the idea of insurance, many sharing the costs of the unlucky few, a socialist idea?

If Reagan did what he said he would do thins might be different(not necessarily better). Reagan did not make government smaller--it was expanded on his watch. Programs were not excised (Dept of ED for ex). Somehow people believe the republican lie tht spending is lessunder republicans, when in fact the opposite is true.

The Reagan myth is so pervasive, that many especially in the media have traded on it successfully for years.
My Alma Mater George Mason University a so called institution of higher learning had a special progam on CSPan praising his presidency. Very nauseating.

Hannity pushes Reagan anti-"socialized medicine" clip, ignores that Reagan was criticizing Medicare

They love to play this recording, nevermind that was before he became Governor of California, and blew their tax situation out the sky. Just like he did when he became president! Let go of Reagan's b@lls! Hannity!

I remember Jesse Ventura's response to Hannity blathering about how proud he was to have voted for Reagan in 1980- "yes, putting a checkmark in a box is a real achievement"...
