I love the back and forth between these two. I'm not seeing a whole lot of reason to hate in this clip. It's two guys stating their opinions.

Don't you understand how somebody could "love the back and forth between these two", JJ ?

They're having a discussion about whether Obama is technically a socialist, or just for all intents and purposes a socialist. Kind of like when Stephen Colbert asks " George W. Bush; Great president or greatest president ?".

It's absurd comedy to us, but an "interesting debate" for right wingers.

Actually it started out as a discussion about whether Obama is a socialist but changed into a discussion about whether he's a communist. Is he a socialist? Is he a communist? I don't know, I never met the man.

It's a common misconception that "need based" wealth redistribution is socialism. Socialism advocates "merit based" redistribution. "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" is a communist concept, not a socialist one.

UGH, they are very likable sometimes. I kinda agree with MagCynic. But then you're reminded of the times Beck says things like this:

Beck to "scar[ed]" caller on disability asking if Obama's heading toward eugenics: "He'd claim no, but ... yes"

Or the infinite amount of times O'Reilly lies about his lies about lies and you're brought back to reality.

Disagreement is "hate"? Mag, you really do need to get an education. I know it would destroy your "common man" persona, but if you don't even know the difference between the concepts of disagreement and hate, you are in for a very, very long hard row to hoe.

It amuses me that Beck says people don't know what "progressive" is then asks if O'Reilly has a chalkboard so that he can explain it. Dude, if you need to draw out charts on a chalkboard to give the definition of a word, your definition is most probably wrong.

They say progressives "want your stuff." But they also say progressives want "wealth-distribution." Those things aren't the same. "Wealth-distribution" means spreading out everyone's stuff to everyone else. One group wanting everyone's stuff is simple greed.

      Just my 2 cents.

        It's a 2 step process...

        1. Take people's stuff

        2. Give it to other people

They mentioned both of these steps, you can't redistribute others' wealth without first taking the wealth from someone. Only AFTER you've taken it can you give it away.

The O'Reillys and the Becks make very high incomes and might be forced to pay higher taxes if the 'progressives' have the guts to demand it. Why are these two yukking about this to their entirely poorer viewers who would not be subjected to this tax increase. Hypocrisy rising!

Yeah, I guess it takes real guts to confiscate more of someone's money. Beck and O'Reilly pay more than enough taxes. Why do you want them to pay any more? What right do you have to confiscate any more of the money that they EARNED.

I don't know what's more ridiculous, the idea that these clowns "earn" their money, or that their fans think they know how much they pay in taxes, and it's more than enough.

Beck and O'Reilly pay their entire Medicare/SS tax in their first paycheck of the year. The majority of Americans pay a percentage of theirs every month.

I'll never understand people like you who defend that outrageously ridiculous salaries of entertainers like O'Reilly and Beck.

Wouldn't it be simply awesome if someone caught O'Reilly or Beck lying? Or, better yet, what if they made something up and reported it? That would give us something to talk about for months and years.

Face it, you might not like what they have to say, but they sure do tell it like it is.

How incredibly disgusting! These high paid blow-hard entertainers complaining that "they" want to "take away your stuff." Nobody wants to take away your stuff, boys. Progressives merely want to help form a more perfect union in which people like Beck and O'Reilly shoulder more of the tax burden because they can. Because a single mom, who pays 25% of her salary for day care, while she teaches inner city high school students algebra on $40,000 a year can't. And which one of these three individuals serves our country in the noblest way?

shoulder more of the tax burden
That's exactly what they mean when they say "take away your stuff." Progressives want to evolve government based on what they think is "fair." Problem is when you try and do so, it usually horribly backfires. When you reduce profit and profit motive for instance, you (1) decrease private investment that otherwise increases efficiency and reduces prices, making city life cheaper for that teacher (who if lived outside the city would enjoy a higher standard of living, by the way) and (2) reduce supply which in turn, again, increases prices (called the law of supply). Messing with people's property because of what someone determines to be "fair" (and this includes corporate lobbying for a favorably written tax code) always decreases real wages, that is, how much work it takes to produce goods (including services). You may want to take away from the rich who have more than they need to live, but they serve an essential role in society, they make goods cheaper for the rest of us, either as first adopters (remember when flat panel TV's were in the tens of thousands of dollars?) or as investors (those Wall-street types who fund companies like Google or GE, or start ups like Tesla Motors).
