I can bring hot soup to my grandma, IF I CAN GET AWAY WITH IT.
I can drive to work at 65 mph, IF I CAN GET AWAY WITH IT.
I can pay my light bill, IF I CAN GET AWAY WITH IT.
I can deposit my paycheck in my own bank account, IF I CAN GET AWAY WITH IT.
I can feed my family, IF I CAN GET AWAY WITH IT.
Now passing legislation with a simple majority is a crime, that you need to "get away with it."
And by the way, let's never forget, that every Bill the U.S. Senate passes, it passes with a simple majority... it's not the passage of the Bill that requires a super-majority, it's merely the strange and troublesome and antidemocratic and now terribly abused Senate Rule 22's "cloture motion" requirement, that's what calls for a super-majority.
DUMB and dumbfounded, at the Politico character, and whatever the heck he was saying with "scary" and "harmless" and "spin" and "how they're [Democrats] trying to do it [pass a health care reform Bill]", and the whole time there's graphics beneath his face where "simple majority" is in quotation marks, like as if it's a strange new term for a strange new concept, requiring quotation marks, versus it (the simple majority) being the singular and most important thing that defines a Democracy.
And also a graphic that said the "R" word, like reconciliation is something so foul, you wouldn't utter the word in polite company, so you say "R" word, you know, like when you say "F" word because you don't want to say "Fudge" in front of the kids, because then they'll want some.
Dumb stuff.
But yeah for our side, where the MSNBC hack said "Americans understand [the fairness of the Democratic simple majority]."
Yeah for us Americans, we're not so dumb after all!
But boo and hiss at the former Republican Congressman, for using such vague and euphemistic language as to say "Republicans don't have clean hands on Reconciliation."
Why speak so indirectly, almost evasively, why not say Republican Senators have used the Budget Reconciliation process many times before themselves, they're Hypocrites!
HYPOCRITES, and HYPOCRISY!
Why speak in a "clean hands" euphemism, why not say the "H" word?
Don't worry, the fudging kids aren't watching at this hour, they're in fudging school!
to the Ludovico Machine!
Gee, maybe they should bring in Mike Rowe!
