So not only can't Palin answer questions from people like Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson, she can't even give a satisfactory answer about her hair to Fox's top bleach blonde.

Fox's female contributors always look they just spent 7 hours in hair and makeup, like you could remove their foundation and eyeliner with a spatula. They're all glammed up like they're Christina Aguilera on her way to the grammys.

Fox needs to get some diversity in their female anchors. Greta is the only one that doesn't look like a hair-product and make-up-saturated barbie glam bot.

Conservatives have a pattern of investing a lot in the appearance of their female representatives. They prop up attractive women to represent their movement and then attack liberal women for being "unattractive". They have a vested interest in maintaining the appearance of the women who represent them, since one of their favorite stand-by attacks against liberal women is that they're all ugly, hairy, lesbian feminists.

Any woman has the right to dress however she wants and still have her opinions taken seriously. That's not what I'm saying.

What I'm pointing out is that the conservative movement has demonstrated a pattern of glamming up the females who represent them in order for them to be taken seriously. They've demonstrated an extreme reluctance to put any woman out there as a conservative media figure who doesn't look perfectly made up, like she's spent 6 hours in hair and make-up before she hits the cameras.

The conservative movement HAVE to make sure their women are glammed up 24/7 because one of their favorite stand-by attacks against liberal women is that they're all ugly, hairy, lesbian feminists who can't get a date.

I suppose when you are suffering the accumulated brain damage of all that heavy bleaching, such things as hairstyles are important to you. I could care less how Retchin' or Simple Sarah wear their hair. I am curious, however, as to how being able to do a stand up comedy routine qualifies one to be President or even a Faux Noise commentator?

Don't laugh too hard about the "Dancing with the Stars" joke. She may very well troop over there, after all, if Tom DeLay could do it, why not Simple Sarah? If they paided her enough, she'd show up at the opening of an envelope. I think I read that Levi said she was a big fan of the Wedding Channel, if one of the girls gets married, expect that to show up on TV, for sure. Who could turn down all the free clothes and make-up advice?

I'm a blonde, a real blonde, who has never bleached her waist length hair. I resent a system that takes a woman and strips her hair color, paints her face with a fake tan, dresses her in a short skirt, ultra-high heels, and a push-up bra from the time she's about 25 and then stthrows her out when she reaches middle age. Foxtarts all have a standard look, they are interchangable. These women are all very well educated, some of them are lawyers, they are better educated and more accomplished than their male counterparts, but they get turned into generic dolls for ratings, Roger, and Ruprick's pleasure. They get paid a lot of money, but I don't think it is worth it. And I hate what it does to the girls watching.

Very well put! It's sad when a girl thinks that it's better to look like Paris Hilton then to have the brains of Marie Currie. I think it says something about our society and Fox when the "people's choice" for a new barbie is a tv journalist who looks like they got their mold from Fox.

When I see R-AK I think two thoughts:
      (1) "AK" is a reasonable sound one might make when considering this woman as a candidate for national office, and
      (2) Is there room to fit "R-AK half-term only" in there as well?

I'd be more inclined to take your feigned outrage seriously if I'd seen you act similarly offended by the constant sexist attacks against liberal women made by conservative mouthpieces documented here at MMFA.

Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, and co. have all made repeated cracks at the appearances of Nancy Pelosi and Hilary Clinton. Beck and Limbaugh famously called Mary Landrieu a prostitute (for securing funds Bobby Jindal asked her to secure). Eric Erickson recently had his little (totally unoriginal, by the way) tirade about how liberals and feminists are all ugly and hairy women that can't get a date.

I missed your outrage their, on these blatant examples of rampant sexism coming from the conservative movement. So I'm less likely to take your efforts to stretch for sexism here seriously.

She herself is playing the dumb blonde and more people need to be called out on it. When women who are in the spot light lower their level of thinking to "I wonder what it means that she did her hair this way instead of that way", it hurts us all. They should move out of the way for intelligent women to step up and take there place, because there are a lot of them out there. Granted, if they had an intelligent women on Fox, everyone would notice how slow the men are, and that wouldn't be good for the whole white men are the only ones who should be in power thing they seem to keep promoting.

It's been well established that Gretchen Carlson acts much less intelligent than she is to appeal to her audience (the whole "I don't know what the word means, I have to Google it" bit she does, etc.). Pointing out the fact that Fox News tends to feature young, attractive, female anchorwomen may be a bit pointless considering most broadcast networks prefer, and usually do, have attractive anchor individuals to draw in the eye's attention. Although Fox does seem to run the market on attractive blonde-haired women.
