I agree with Juan - Hannity is "really out there tonight!" He also proves - as if there were any doubts - that he's an idiot.

I will say that I think Sarah Palin is smarter than she's given credit usually, but she's also a very shallow, lazy thinker, so any intelligence she does have is mostly wasted.

Slang a petty swindler, as one who operates a dishonest gambling device at a carnival; confidence man

Hey, Sean? She's not governor Palin any more. She's Sarah "The Quitter" Palin, now, 'kay? And, the only way you could reasonably think she was smarter than Obama is if you are dumber than a bag of hair, which I doubt not.

"Being a small town mayor is sort of like being a community organizer, except you actually have some responsibility."

I think Palin is smarter than Obama also. What's the big deal?

        Sarah Palin

So, Sarah -- are you now taking responsibility for having ran the town of Wasilla from zero to $20+ million into debt?

Good, glad to hear it . . .

Not true. Wasilla went into debt years after she was mayor. You can't dispute her record, so your only recourse is to lie about it. Sarah scares the hell out of you doesn't she? When she is president she is going to kick liberal ass.

            *SIGH*

During her term in office, Palin cut property taxes and other small taxes on business. But as the Anchorage Daily News points out, “She wasn’t doing this by shrinking government.” During her tenure, the budget of Wasilla (population 5,469 in 2000) “apart from capital projects and debt, rose from $3.9 million in fiscal 1996 to $5.8 million.”

Palin also successfully pushed through a sales tax increase in Wasilla, which went to fund a $15 million sports complex. However, a land dispute over the sight of the complex led to “years of legal wrangling” and cost Wasilla almost $1.7 million, “a lot more than the roughly $125,000 the city would have paid in 1998 if it had closed a deal to buy the property outright.” Wasilla is still facing budget shortfalls from the case today.

When Palin left office in 2002, Wasilla had “racked up nearly $20 million in long-term debt,” or roughly $3,000 of debt per resident.

Palin smarter than Obama? Ha! Yeah that's not even close to true. The woman is an embarassment.

I may not agree with all of President Obama's policies, but he is intellegent, & for Hannity to suggest Palin outshines him in that department is laughable!!

I do not think violence against women is even remotely funny. I do not think it would be funny if Harry Reid beats up his wife when he hits the unemployment lines in November. I expressed my concern for Mrs. Reid. Harry strikes me as an unstable guy who will not deal with his loss in the election very well.

I hope that someone keeps an eye on the family to ensure teh security of Mrs. Reid.

Uh yeah! Sean may THINK Gov. Palin is smarter than Barry. I KNOW Gov. Palin is smarter than Barry.

Sarah is unquestionably intellectually superior to B Hussein. She would not drive us into the whole he is. Sarah has a solid conception of Austrian economics. In a debate she would eat Barry's lunch.

I would bet my life Gov. Palin got a higher SAT score than Barry. This seems obvious.

Obama NEVER attended a religious madrasah, he attended a public madrasah. He attended the school for a couple of years when he was around 8-10 years old. It is not unusual for the parents of a young child in a blended family to use the step-father's last name.

Why was it necessary for the McCain campaign to to attempt to educate Palin on even the most basic elements of world affairs, about which she was clueless.

You are incorrect again, BJ. Obama actually did write a Law Review article. It was unsigned.

BHO became President of the Law Review because he was ELECTED by his fellow members . . . this was after he had applied for and, based upon his grades and recommendations by his professors, was admitted.

Why not try actually researching the BS you post here? By not doing so, you look foolish. You're posting talking points, not fact.

If it was unsigned how did we know he wrote it? Perhaps Bill Ayers wrote it just like he did "Dreams of my Father" and the "Audacity of Hope". Many experts in forensic grammar have concluded that the style and usage of those books comport perfectly with Ayers' writing.

NOt hat I am stipulating that Obama is the author of the unsigned article, but if he did submit it, are we certain that Ayers did not write it?

Actually, that would keep her from the official ranks of 'the unemployed' because she would be unable to collect unemployment. Thus the skewed numbers for so many years.. unemployed does not equal 'not having a job or other source of income', and also no longer applies once payments end (not that any politician would oppose allowing such payments to continue /snark)

        Here's a fun exercise:

Read Barack Obama's two books. Notice how they're thoughtful, well-written, drawing on moral and philosophical depth? Notice how he draws on a wide range of experiences to explore new ideas, both in his personal quest to forge his uniquely American identity and in his reformulation of American policy after the disaster of George W. Bush?

Now read Going Rogue. Notice how insipid and one-dimensional it is? Notice how Sarah Palin shows a complete lack of ability to think deeply about anything? Notice how it was co-written by a professional writer? Doesn't that seem odd for a memoir?

Look, I don't think Sarah Palin is stupid - but Barack Obama is far, far more intelligent than her. Barack Obama's favorite philosopher is Reinhold Niebuhr. Do you think Sarah Palin has ever read any philosophy? Barack Obama destroyed every single House Republican who tried to debate him a few weeks ago. How do you think Palin would fare in debate with House Democrats?

I also have no idea where you got your claim that she has a solid "conception" of Austrian economics - unless you literally mean that she conceived the idea. Of course, you probably meant concept, in which case I'm guessing your SAT score isn't exactly something to be proud of.

"Do you think Sarah Palin has ever read any philosophy?"

Yes, she is a fan of Ayn Rand, John Locke, and Thomas Jefferson. She has stated so on many occasions.

By conception I meant that she has a conceptual understanding of Austrian economics. In June of 2009, she hosted a brunch in NY for people who donated at least $1,000 to SarahPAC. After her speech she had a 90 minute Q&A. During this she quoted Von Hayek and von Mises correctly and in context. I asked her a question about monetary policy and she discussed praxeology. By conceptual I mean that she did not regurgitate talking points. She gave insightful answers which proves whe understands the underlying concepts of Austrian economics.

Does BHO understand praxeology? Somehow I doubt it. Sarah is more intelligent.

This is akin to saying that simply because I am an American I agree with the economic policies of the Obama administration. Hardly.

Prof. De Soto agrees with Zapatero about as much as I agree with Obama. SImply because he is Spanish does not mean he agrees wtih Zapatero. He has published many articles ostensibly stating Zapatero is a moron.

            As I've told you before...

You've clearly and plainly demonstrated your ability to believe absolutely anything as long as it supports your pre-conceived worldview. As evidenced by your rabid eagerness to jump on board with the rumor that Bill Ayers wrote Obama's books. The only reason you are willing to believe this is because you desperately want to believe it, because it fits with your already-decided upon opinion of Obama--that he's an un-American terrorist moron out to destroy the country. No rational person would be so eager to jump on with such plainly bogus claims. You are governed by emotion, not reason.

"opinion of Obama--that he's an un-American terrorist moron out to destroy the country."

Yes, I do broadly believe this. I am not prepared to call Obama a terrorist, but I do believe he is sympathetic to their view that America is a bad country that deserves to be punished. I truly do believe the guy is a Marxist. I do not believe he is intelligent nor do I believe he is a patriot. I do believe his has nefarious motivations.

I truly believe he is intentionlly trying to collapse our economy and the dollar in order to rebuild the nation in a Marxist framework.

I disagreed with Clinton, but I did believe that he believed he was acting in the best interests in the country. I do not extend the same benefit of the doubt to Obama.

I am fairly moderate on Obama. My wife is absolutely convinced that Khalid al-Mansour gave Colombia millions to state that Obama went to Colombia to use as a cover story while he attended a mudjahedeen/Taliban training camp in Afghanistan between 1981 and 1983. He was in Pakistan during that time.

My wife thinks Obama is a one man terrorist sleeper cell. I don't. See, I am reasonably fair when it comes to my assessment of Obama.

I was not referring to stuttering. I did not even know that he had a stuttering problem. I am referring to him plaguarizing Neil Kinnock's speech verbatim whilst running for president in 1988. I thought about referring to him as Joe "Xerox" Biden, but I thought the reference might be lost on most people here.

Not only did Biden win the debate, he even eased up on Palin to avoid making her look even worse. Remember when she repeatedly misidentified Gen. McKiernan as Gen. McClellan (missing by a mere 140 years)? Biden did the gentlemanly thing by not exposing her ignorance directly, but by merely identifying him as our top military commander in Afghanistan.

Only die-hard Republicans--and not even all of them--saw Palin as the winner of the debate.

Joe Biden thinks FDR went on television in 1929 to address the nation following the stock market crash.

Hoover was president in 1929 and television had not yet been invented. What a genius!

What would the reaction be if Sarah ever said there were 57 states, or that she saw dead people at a Memorial day speech (or didn't know the difference between Memorial and Veterans Days), or thought we should give asthmatic children a breathalizer test?

What geniuses Obama and Biden are.

HE did not get into Harvard on the basis of his LSAT scores - which I am certain are quite low.

He got into Harvard because Khalid al-Mansour greased teh skids. Al-Mansour and Percy Sutton got him into Harvard. They not only paid his tuition, but there is significant evidence that they gave Harvard millions to admit him.

        Huh. Just a few points:
        * "Debt is worse than before" It's called a freaking recession.
        * "plane almost bombed out of the sky on Christmas" That had nothing to do with Obama.
        * "maybe no health care revision" That's a very shaky "maybe," and regardless that would put him in the same crowd as TR, FDR, Truman, JFK, LBJ, Nixon, and Clinton - all very intelligent people.
        * "no Olympics in Chicago" I'm sorry, I didn't realize that required an intelligence test.
        * "a joke about handicapped on Leno" True, intelligent people never make slightly distasteful jokes. That George Carlin guy was an idiot.
        * "a blanket statement about `stupid' police officers" Er, if you're really going to bring this up again, do you actually think it was wise to arrest Professor Gates in his own home? Really?
        * "declining poll numbers" Reagan was below 40% approval when unemployment peaked at 10.8% in 1983.
        * the bail-out thing: a "flop" that every responsible policy analyst regarded as being necessary, and one that prevented catastrophic unemployment, along with a total depression. Oh, and that was in 2008, and the majority of Congress signed off on it.

TARP was a legalilzed looting of the treasury by corporate whores. They had the money to hire lobbyists to bribe Congress into allowing this. AIG should have been allowed to fail. AIG was nothing but a back door money laundering operation to coutner parties like Goldman Sachs, Duetsche Bank, Credite Suisse, and BNP Paribas.

Why should SECURED bondholders have to eat a settlment in which they get 29 cents on the dollar while people who wrote bogus papers based upon mortage derivates they KNEW to be fraudulent get 100 cents on teh dollar? Wake up, the fix was in. They knew they were going to be bailed out.

Capitalismm is based upon a risk-reward ratio. These whores got all of the reward and assumed none of the risk. If they win, they keep the winnings - if they lose taxpayers cover the loss. This is not capitalism. Just because a Congressman was in on the fix does not make them intelligent - it makes them criminal.

This was not good policy. I will never support anyone who supported TARP regardless of policy.

Why would Jindal's being a Rhodes Scholar matter? You've already excused away President Obama's educational credentials.

Oh, I get it. It's the old routine. McCain (R) service to nation=hero, Kerry (D) and Cleland (D) service to nation=cowardice.

              Jindal=Rhodes Scholar=genius, GW Bush Yale, Harvard=genius.

              Clintonl=Rhodes Scholar=dummy. Obama=Harvard= dummy.

Okay, I'm not sure why I think you'll understand this, but I'll spell it out anyway:
Criticism of President Obama is not automatically racist. No one is claiming it is, least of all me, considering I criticize him on a regular basis. However, when people start doing things like dismissing any and all of his achievements as "affirmative action", baselessly insisting he hates white people, and questioning his religion and birthplace, it's not that much of a stretch to say that maybe those people's problems with him go deeper than his policies.
Or maybe I'll just give you the Cliff's Notes:
Criticism of a minority is not inherently racist. Explicitly racist criticism of a minority is.

He doesn't have any achievements, so there is nothing to criticize.

There is no evidence to indicate Obama hates white people - I'm sure he loved his mother.

The evidence overwhelming indicates he was born in Honolulu.

I don't know what religion he is today (I suspect he is an atheist, but that is supposition on my part). However, there was a time in his life when he was a Muslim. I believe him when he says he is not a Muslim today, but he is lying when he says he never has been a Muslim. We have seen his enrollment forms for his school in Indonesia and it listed his religion as islam.

My point is that I have never refereneced his race except in reply to being called a racist. I don't give a damn what his race is. I care about the policies he is proposing which will ruin this country.

Whenever I say something negative about him, people call me a racist. I don't believe you hate Jews and Hispanics - I am trying to hilight how idiotic it is to attribute my antipathy toward him as racially based.

The only thing he's got going for him is that he's black. There's absolutely nooooo way he could have possibly accomplished any of that had he been white.

I left out the part about Barry preaching about "high health care costs" while he himself being an avid smoker. Everybody knows how much "smokers" cost the system every year. Then I have to wonder how somebody who is President could not see what a bad example he sets for younger generations. How did he give up cocaine and still can't give up smoking? How could an "intelligent guy" miss all these contradictions?

Second of all, "they started it!" is not what grown-ups do. If it's wrong, it's wrong. It's wrong when anyone does it. You don't get to pick and choose when it's convenient for you to apply your standards. That's called hypocrisy.

You are correct on both counts. It is incredibly difficult for me to consider a man for whom I have no repsect as "my" President. I freely admit I want him to fail. So just because YOU add the word CONTINUE doesn't make it so... grow up, learn to read, get an education...

Hold on, buddy. Here's what the medical report said:

Continue smoking cessation efforts, a daily exercise program, healthy diet, moderation in alcohol intake, periodic dental care, and remain up-to-date with recommended immunizations. (my emphasis)

In other words, raddave didn't add "continue," Bobby Jindal fan removed it. If you must use such immature taunts, then use them for the latter, as they would then be more appropriate.

If he wants to smoke, leave him alone. If he wants to quit, well that would be good. BUT his job, agree with him or not, is probably the hardest job on the earth. In my recollection I have not seen a President that has left the office without looking MUCH worse for the wear... Give the man a break... Be critical of things that matter... Attacking the President for his vises is just plain wrong> I'm sure everyone has at least one of their own...

Actually, Palin usually has a teleprompter at her speeches. When she doesn't she has the speeches typewritten and she reads them from the lectern. Her speech prior to the infamous, "core principles" on her hand incident, was read from the lectern.

I usually memorize about half of what I intend to say, and do off-the-cuff remarks for the rest. Granted, no speech I have ever given (church services, universities, board of directors meetings, etc.) has ever been as important, or as intensely scrutinized, as those of Obama or any other noted politician, so I don't criticize any of them for using a teleprompter.

What I wonder about is why anyone makes that criticism, since there's nothing wrong and nothing unusual about politicians doing so.

He didn't use teleprompters to talk to 6ths graders.

Sarah Palin uses teleprompters at most of her speeches, but sometimes reads it from typewritten pages placed on the lectern. The speech she gave prior to the interview wherein she was so insecure about remembering her "core principles" that she wrote them on her hand like a junior high girl was read from typewritten pages she brought out and placed on the lectern. She repeatedly ducked her head and read during her speech.

Wrong. I've posted this on your other references to this false meme, but I'll say it again. Palin, like most politicians, usually uses a teleprompter. When she doesn't, she reads her speeches from typewritten pages placed on the lectern. That's what she did during the speech she gave prior to the interview wherein she was so insecure with her ability to remember her three "core principles" that she had to write them on her hand.

As for the 6th grader thing . . . I've posted a link which reveals that meme was false and ru469 did also. Just because you heard it on Fox or hate talk radio doesn't mean it's true.

Sean Klannity continue to speak out of ignorance, stupidity and hate. What else can explain his boneheaded statement that "Sarah Palin is smarter than Obama"?
Attacking and criticizing the black president is the main reason why conservative are impressed with Sarah. This is a common theme through out the Republican Party. Notice that they don't offer much more than criticism when it comes to politics. Most of what John McCain and Sarah Palin did during the 2008 presidential election was attack and criticize democratic candidate Barack Obama. Republicans really believe this is their ticket to success. Republicans should NEVER be trusted with power again.
Pres. Abram Lincoln once said on the steps of the white house that "there is NOT one black man equal to a white man"
Sean (today) apparently believes this supremacy belief covers white women as well.

What does race have to do with this? THe only people raising the issue of race is liberals. No conservative gives a crap about Barry's race. We opposed Clinton as well.

I despise Pelosi - does that mean I hate white people.

You are so intellectually bereft all you can do is play the race card - it is pathetic. It is the last refuge of scoundrels.

DO you think Clarence Thomas is a good SC justice? If not, you are obviously a racist. Do you think Marco Rubio would be a good Senator? If not, you are a anti-Hispanic bigot.

This is how stupid you sound when you shamelessly play the race card. I don't give a crap about Barry's skin color - I do care about his economic politices which are ruining the country and his pathetic weakness against terrorism.

Sarah Palin is more intelligent than Barry - there is no doubt of my mind of this. If you don't agree it is probably because you are a sexist.

Simply because I don't think Obama is particularly intelligent this does not make me a racist. I think Jindal is more intelligent than Sarah, but I think she would be a better president. Does this make me a sexist? Hardly.

Because he doesn't want to embarrass the hell out of Dumbya, that's why. Also, it is not necessary to have a college education to be President of the United States. In some cases, like the aforementioned Dumbya, you don't even need to be elected. You can just let the Supreme Court appoint you.

President Obama graduated with honors from Harvard, with a Juris Doctorate. That means he earned at least the equivalent of a 3.75 on a scale of 4.0. Sorry you are not bright enough to figure all that out for yourself, retiredinsf.

Living proof of stupidity - while bragging about intelligence - from the cat: "President Obama graduated with honors from Harvard, with a Juris Doctorate. I graduated with "honors" with a >3.5, or magna cum laude. One of my college friends had just over 3.0 (cum laude) and he "graduated with honors". In other words, as you are an obvious uneducated and unschooled person cat, one can graduate with honors without having earned a 3.75 GPA. I know since I lived it.

Heh heh heh. I have the courage to admit I had something to drink New Years eve, for the 1st time in at least 20 years, while the wife was visiting some of my grandkids, and I am called out on it by you "compassionate, understanding, liberals". You people crack me up with your blatent hypocricy. Only reason I even read and post here is to be reminded of how sick our society can become if you nutjobs on MMFA are unleashed on real America - which I doubt since there are only about 50 or so of you diehard leftists - Thank GOD!

Oh, really? Because my current overall GPA (I'm on my third degree, and planning a fourth) is 3.95, retiredinsf. But, that is in no way provable and I won't ask you to believe me.

However, here is a little light reading on how the honors system works for graduate studies at Harvard Law. Bear in mind President Obama graduated magna cum laude, 'kay?

I am currently a full time parent, a part time student, and I have a part time job. I sleep about five hours a day, at most. The rest of the time is devoted to my children, my studies, and my job. My current estimate is that I am working around 120 hours a week. Any other questions, retiredinsf?

In case you didn't read the above post, I already have three jobs. Only one is providing compensation at the moment, of course, and one of them will always be a loss financially. Since money is what makes Faux Cons like you tick, perhaps you think I should sell my kids off, make a little profit on them? It'd be about typical of you.

Until they are old enough not to need me at home more than they need a full time paycheck, I'll keep raising them myself.

Whatever cat. I also have a sob story about how I raised three kids while working and going to school but it isn't worth mentioning on this Board because you people wouldn't believe it anyway since you all think conservatives are so "evil". Difference is I got a job with my 1st degree to help my kids and wife then went for my MBA while I was working in my degreed profession.

BTW: You said in your 1st post you worked part time. 2nd full time. Without calling you a liar, as your friends on this Board do with me when I mis-speak, which is it?

Too bad you think of it as a sob story. I'm fairly content with my life, though busy. My wife and kids are a blessing every day to me, and a constant source of joy.

Mistakes happen. Job and school are part time based on hours of the week, and the kids are definitely full time. What I actually meant was that working 120 hours a week is the equivalent of holding down three full time jobs, which usually average 40 hours a week. It's just math.

Congrats on your MBA, and on raising kids. It's not an easy job, but a very worthwhile one I find.

"Attribute" means "a characteristic". To be conceited IS a characteristic. You're using it to mean "a good quality" because you're also apparently retiredfrommiddleschool.

One last comment: Who would you rather trust as your "backup" in a fox hole? I'd take Palin anytime, anywhere. And no, not because she is a woman. Difference is she can be trusted. As opposed to BHO who can't be based on his constant lies and changing of his positions on basically everything. For proof of this just compare his campaign promises and what he said in the Senate, versus what he now says as President.

Yeah, like Palin's opposition to the Bridge to Nowhere -- after she was for it.

Or, her support of Ted Stevens' bid for reelection -- before she was against it.
