          He was indeed.

Unions have made America strong in the past, and when you go to work for 40 hours per week who can you thank? Unions.

Like that health care that you enjoy from your job? Thank the unions.

          Like workplace safety? Thank unions.

And so on, and so forth.

Infact didn't Beck and Limbaugh praise the care they received from unionized nurses during their recent stays in the hospital?

Uhhh, Glenn, listen carefully to logic...if America is destroyed, Americans don't benefit.

Are you saying SEIU is purposely destroying America so it will have power in a new America? Kinda risky game plan, from an existential standpoint, wouldn't you say...?

Shouldn't you have some actua proof before making wild accusations like this...?

Glenn will interpret that to mean space aliens are to blame. Don't use big words like that with Glenn.

It's mind boggling how detached from reality Beck is... He's accusing working people of being subversives in a plot to take down America...for what? And at what risk...?

Glennie is for unions, except when they go against his corporate masters. Glennie is for unions when someone he knows is trying to get something for someone other than his corporate masters. Glennie is against unions that try to grab power for themselves. Glennie wants power for himself, so he trashes unions in the hope that people will turn away from unions and look to Glennie for advice and leadership. Glennie hopes to be a good corporate thrall and convince his audience that being under the thumb of the corporations isn't as bad as being represented by unions.

It's much more basic than that. Unions threaten the social order.

Conservatives like Beck, and conservatives in general, are prone to react to threats in a much deeper emotional, visceral manner than liberals. Why? Because their fathers were authoritarian and probably used harsh punishment to teach them right from wrong. That's where the metaphor for social order was first instilled; in childhood. Daddy is the protector, he knows all and the hierarchy places daddy at the top. If anything deviates from that arrangement, the family is threatened.

Interesting perspective. I hadn't looked at it that way. But, you have a good point. I wonder if his embracing of Mormonism has anything to do with this. Mormon men can become gods over their own planet in the celestial kingdom if they follow all the Mormon laws. I can see why he would embrace this idea, but what about his wife? What does she get out of it, other than protection?

Thanks. I don't do it justice, but the field of neuroscience has given us insight into the way the political mind works and the way the brain actually reasons.

            Here.

Liberals like [insert name] and liberals in general are prone to react to threats in a much deeper emotional, visceral manner than conservatives. Why? Because they had no fathers to teach them right from wrong so they turn to the government as a surrogate. That's where the metaphor for social order was first instilled; in childhood. The government is the protector, it knows all and the hierarchy places the government at the top. If anything deviates from that arrangement, the family is threatened.

That's what's so great about psychology. It doesn't really explain anything so much as it reveals the biases of the speaker.

Actually liberals are much more tolerant of change because we are not taught to fear. We don't beat our children into submission like the authoritarian right. We teach by example, not the strap. We teach our children to live with the consequences of their actions. We do not teach to our kids to do as I say, not as I do.

And here I thought we were trying to make our working environment safe and therefore safer for our passengers. I would challenge Glenn to actually talk to union members and leadership before saying such non-sense.
