Luckily (or unluckily) Limbaugh is almost never correct, so chances of him leaving, are slim to none.

At long last, the final push the Democrats need to get the job done! What an incentive! Best to put it in as an amendment during reconciliation; make him persona non grata and give him 24 hours to leave, as we do with diplomats (not that he's ever been diplomatic).

I think Al Franken should publicly thank him on behalf of the Democrats

Funny, but Rush has attacked many people -- such as Shere Hite -- for renouncing their citizenship. Does this make him a hypocrite?

I wish rush would promise to leave the country if the healthcare bill gets passed. If what he says is an accurate prognostication, then what rush says will happen. I'm sure that there will be about 30 Republican senators who would switch votes if Rush would leave when it is passed.

      Dear God,

Please have Rush leave when it gets passed. Please, Please, Please. Please, Please Please.

      Show us your mercy.

      Poor Costa Rica.

Although, I kind of like the irony of it. Rush will be disappointed to discover that Costa Rica's health care system is much more progressive than ours would ever be under the health insurance reforms he's threatening to flee our country over.

Go to Costa Rica, Rush. Go to the land of government-run health insurance.

I'm not sure that he promised to leave New York,

The State of New York simply pulled up in front of his studio one day, I believe they had one of those dumpsters similar to what Nerzog posted above and they just hauled him away and dropped over in Delaware somewhere.

It's my understanding that Rush is barred from entering the state of New York at this point.

I think the MOST significant part of Rush's comment is that as a last resort he would move to Costa Rica for health care. From what I've found, it looks as if Rush has chosen a country with nationalized health care.

      ---------------------------

    • "With a government - sponsored network, of 29 hospitals and more than 250 clinics, throughout the country, the Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS) has primary responsibility for providing low cost, health services, to the Costa Rican population."

"Open not just to Ticos, the CCSS provides affordable medical service to any foreign resident or visitor."

"Foreigners living in Costa Rica, can join the CCSS by paying a small monthly fee, based on their income or they can buy health insurance, from the State monopoly Instituto de Seguro Nacional (INS), valid with over 200 affiliated doctors, hospitals, labs and pharmacies, in the private sector."

Just because people disagree philosphically, does not mean that you should be filled with such vile hatred of him/her. Perhaps you should all join the Libertarian philosophy. I think we should give Limbaugh some slack here.

He's just doing what his idols have taught him.
Palin used Canadian Health Care System

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- who has gone to great lengths to hype the supposed dangers of a big government takeover of American health care -- admitted over the weekend that she used to get her treatment in Canada's single-payer system.

"We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada," Palin said in her first Canadian appearance since stepping down as governor of Alaska. "And I think now, isn't that ironic?"

The irony, one guesses, is that Palin now views Canada's health care system as revolting: with its government-run administration and 'death-panel'-like rationing. Clearly, however, she and her family once found it more alluring than, at the very least, the coverage available in rural Alaska. Up to the age of six, Palin lived in a remote town near the closest Canadian city, Whitehorse.

Officials at several hospitals in that area declined to give out information on patient visits.

Ain't no way Rush is going to live in a 3rd World country. So the only question is, which country with a universal health care system will he go to?

Tman, I just want to say,

Coming from someone who was for the Bridge to Nowhere -- before she was against it -- and was a staunch supporter of Ted Stevens -- before she withdrew that support -- I'm just SHOCKED that Sarah Palin would flip-flop on the subject of nationalized helathcare like that! SHOCKED, I tells ya!!

Like impressions? Hate Rush Limbaugh? if so, please check out a funny parody in which comedian michael hayne impersonates (vocally) Rush Limbaugh's idiotic "fleeing the country" claim. Although the subject matter is satircial, it points out just how ignorant the GOP is with respects to other nations (costa rica) and health policy in general.

It's ironic that a website which purports to fight misinformation would deliberately take Limbaugh's comment out of context. He was talking about going to Costa Rica for treatment, if necessary, at one of the clinics that are being set up for wealthy patients if Obamacare passes. You left that part out of your clip. If that's not spreading misinformation, I don't know what is!
