What are they talking about? Legal Immigrants already have a national ID card, it's their Alien Registration Card.

I don't think it was one of the first things Hitler did. Way before that, Hitler learned to walk, went to Kindergarten, learned to read, and started shaving. How many of these things does Glenn Beck have in common with the fuhrer ? Chalkboard, please.

We'll just add it to the list of first things Hitler did. It must be a couple of pages now.

I wish I had kept my original Social Security Card, issued in 1975 or 76. I remember reading on the bottom of the card that it was not to be used for Identification purposes. The one I received in 1983 when I married, did not have this written on it. When my family was overseas, we all had ID cards tied to my husband's SSN since he was the sponsor. I'm not too crazy about a national ID card, either.

I have always felt uneasy about the military using the SSN for identification. Since I am retiring now, I was going through my old files and getting rid of things I no longer need and I had to shread two bags worth of paper because my SSN was on it.

When I was drafted in 1969, they gave me a military ID number preceded by the letters US. Half way through basic training, they did away with that system and started using our Social Security numbers.

For some reason I still remember my original ID#.

Rather than scan my own SS card (then blank information, upload and link), I did a quick search, and found Elvis' card (!!) from 1950:

        Note at the bottom right....

If I'm not mistaken, Hitler use to speak to his followers on the radio. I can't help but notice that Beck does the same thing.

Now, let's follow the time line...can everybody see the chalkboard? Ok, here we have the invention of the radeo....what's that? you say I spelled "radio" incorrectly....so what if I did....attacking my spelling are you? Well, that must be the Media Matters talking point of the day...besides, I spelled it that way for a reason....you see, the word "radio" is from the Latin "radeoum", meaning "to propagandize"....oh, you uneducated liberals, always taking me out of context...(sigh)....anyway, the radio was invented by Van Jones in 1843...now, follow me here....

Just as I predicted, the uber-conservatives want a way to distinguish citizens from non-citizens, but would never allow the Obama administration to put in place a reliable national ID system. Imagine the reaction from the far-right who will most certainly think this is the fulfillment of the number of beast in the Book of Revelations.

Uber-cons are afflicted by a very serious, chronic and incurable condition called COGNITIVE DISSONANCE. The modern world must be very confusing for them.
