      -_- You know what I hate? When I agree with right wingers for extremely different reasons. I also believe a financial disaster is coming, because the government as it stands, refuses to take meaningful action against what caused the recession in the first place. (Derivative trading, etc.)

      Of course, when a right-winger says it, they usually mean.. you know. "If only the government stayed out of the financial industry, none of this would've happened." And of course their main goal is basically capitalist anarchy, mass deregulation, etc.

          That's what p!sses me off the most. As if he can continue to co-op the pain of others in summoning the images of Auschwitz and Dachau to further his own ideological agenda.

          Oh, no doubt. It has literally lost all meaning, however. Calling someone a Nazi, or a holocaust victim, or any reference in the same general "genocidal" ballpark is completely normal now.

          The uh... "good" thing is that... they've brought out all the guns, this time. There's no way to make something sound scarier. They've invoked Nazis, holocaust, KKK, terrorists, death panels. They literally used up every historically scary word, and completely desensitized people, and the media, to it. By the next argument, it'll just seem pathetic, even to right wingers.

          ...Maybe. One can hope.

        It's a minor point, Dradeeus, but I feel it is worth making. The Faux Cons like Mr. Beck do not wish for capitalist anarchy. Rather, it is my belief that the goal they are pursuing is actually capitalist monarchy. America will be so deeply divided between haves and have nots that we will socially if not technologically be returned to the Middle Ages. 90-90% of us will basically be reduced to serfdom.

        That Mr. Beck would help pursue such a course after the events of the French Revolution only shows that, in addition to economics, he has no knowledge of history.

        To Beck, the mass killings that took place during the Nazi era were nothing. The idea of corporate CEOs having their profits reduced by a pertage point or two, now that's a holocaust! Oh, the horror! The horror!

      Buy gold! Buy survival seeds! They're not investments. They're insurance policies. Protect your family. Buy a gun! Buy gold!

      With all of his fearmongering, Beck should get paid in survival seeds, bullets, and spanish dubloons. At least then we'd know he practiced what he preached. He'll speak out against the strength of the US dollar. But he has no problem accepting them on pay day.
