there's something about that word "snorkeling" and Rush Limbaugh that rings true....

The Fox hack wallace just had to give his two cents worth, in opining that Rep. Kennedy "just seemed a little overwrought on the floor of the House," and he sounded like he was laughing when he said that.

I'll have to confirm the exact definition of "overwrought" because I'm under the vague impression I've heard that word used to describe people who are grieving, maybe over the loss of a loved one or family member.

Whether that's an accepted definition of the word or not, I'm sure the Fox hack wallace didn't mean it in that sense, because then why would he have laughed.

I just saw a video clip of Jon Stewart's show, where he did three minutes or so on the beck-Massa thing.

He pretty much commented like most have, but at one point he showed video tape of Massa saying to beck (in effect) "Look, we need campaign finance reform to stop lobbyists from using money to block all of our Congressional reform efforts, because without campaign finance reform, none of the other reforms are happening... also, it's counter-productive all of this name calling, communist socialist nazi what have you, it's obviously just meant to provoke people's emotions, and that's not helping... and you just can't go to these 'tea party' things, and pretend the federal deficit started with the Obama administration!"

And despite the somewhat lurid tone and context that had already been set in the matter, when Massa said those things, Stewart's audience applauded, rather enthusiastically!

Again, despite the almost perverse tone that had been set about the man, the crowd quickly recognized the truth when he spoke it, and applauded in a big way.

I just thought I'd relate to you why there were Republican media hacks (malkin and limbaugh and kristol) who knew ahead of time to not give this Massa guy any platform, despite his otherwise being a dream to them, the dream of a disgraced Democratic Congressman and an Obama administration critic at that.

It's also why they're (Fox hacks and beck and even this strange cadaverous radio guy in the video clip) running like crazy now against Massa, to disqualify anything and everything he says or has said, however true or popular or helpful it might be.

Exactly. Interesting how the Faux Cons have two basic tactics: The strawman, and ad hominem attacks. And both are total fallacies. It doesn't matter who speaks the truth. Even Glenn Beck can speak the truth, and the fact that it came from Glenn's mouth would not alter the fact that it was indeed the truth.

Is there some mental or physical explanation for why Faux Cons have this enormous blind spot?

Correct as correct can be, that it doesn't matter who speaks the truth, all that matters is the truth.

Can you imagine if our Courts worked that way, where it wasn't what the witness or even the defendant was saying, but it was always about who they are?

Under such a circumstance as that, the Courts would be nothing but a festival of insults innuendo and character assassinations (you know, like Fox News Channel is), there would never be justice because justice relies on discovering the truth, and there would never be any just verdicts (and verdict means "true words"), instead their would just be opinions of people's characters and personalities, opinions based on, as I said, insults and innuendo and character assassinations.

And I don't ever want to leave the page, without at least referring to the truth, that our Congress is not enacting any of the reforms we elected them for, because of BRIBERY ("lobbying") and BRIBES ("campaign contributions"), and because of that, campaign finance reform is probably the most serious ans most urgent political matter today, right now...

That's the truth I say, and if so, then what difference does it make who I am?

I assert the cons believe they should never use a good fallacy when a cheap fallacy will fool their audience. Beck proves my point.

Isn't that what happens with every Fox News story? They over cover things that aren't really newsworthy.
