Precisely and prolonged use of peroxide thins the truthiness of the speaker....just saying. Also her husband is Tiger Woods manager, so hiring W's former press guy was probably due to that connection.

Some sly voice whispered in her ear, "Quick! Run with the lie! Hurry! Spread it as loudly and widely as possible! They're already debunking it! Get it out there, as often as you can! It won't last long!"

      And she obeyed.

I think you give her too much credit. I'm sure she was told by the Fox News execs to say it, that of course, snicker snicker, it must be true ("it's right there in the friggin' New England Journal of Medicine, for crying out loud, and they're the most smartest and most importantest doctors in the entire universe; they never would print anything that's not true after thorough research") and that it would make a great story and show how, the horrors, the Dems and the libruls, even with the magazine of the Boston pointy-headed elite doctors against them, are doing everything to ruin the practice of medicine once and for all. Then the empty-head, on script, told the story. "Oh, and bring up Kilmeade and Doocy when you're done." Wash, rinse, repeat.

Why would a supposed "news" organization even run with a story that claims 46% of doctors would leave their profession?

That is so soundly absurd on its face that it makes one laugh even thinking about it.

Yeah, I became a doctor to help people, I have $100k in school loans for med school.

But because of socialist Obama's take-over of health care, I'm gonna quit!

      LOL!

That's exactly what I thought when I heard the 46% - its preposterous, what a joke. And to lie about the source as well with no retraction forthcoming.

Yeah, that 46% figure would have made anyone with even a minimum of critical thinking skills say, "Wait, this has to be bull s***."

Those 46% of physicians must have been thinking they'd leave the medical profession and work at The Gap. Makes perfect sense.

Oh she got the memo and she did exactly what it said to do... Lie.

Lie big. Lie often. Fox News' pockets and political ambitions far outweigh any need for truth or accountability. They are now the "mainstream news" and the frightened masses will just eat their fear-mongering up.

I gotta say, MMFA. You actually posted misinformation. It's not really conservative misinformation as it has nothing to do with conservative politics, but it is misinformation nonetheless. Good job. I had my doubts about it until I found this.
The opinions expressed in the article linked to above represent those of The Medicus Firm only. That article does not represent the opinions of the New England Journal of Medicine or the Massachusetts Medical Society.
It is on the New England Journal of Medicine jobs website so I can see where the confusion is coming from.

You're right, it really has nothing to do with conservative anything; however, it was misinformation reported on the propaganda arm of the Republican Party. It, therefore, qualifies since the Republican Party claims, incorrectly, to represent conservatism.

There is a wee lass, name of Kelly

Who tells sordid stories so smelly

      She talks really fast

      Spouting lies unsurpassed

To keep her plum job on the telly

O'er truth, the lass runs roughshod

Her script? Wrapper from days' old cod.

But she's on the Fox "News"

Where the truth they can bruise

'Cause their viewers buy the facade

I thought a limerick would be appropriate for St. Patricks Day.

From JJ, who risked life and limb on a cold, rainy day to climb all those stairs to kiss the Blarney Stone. ;-0)

And what a lovely limb it was, lassie, and a happy paddy's day to you. Excellent limericks as always, and so on point! The truth they can bruise, another classic ;-)

Very clever JJ, shame it's not on a more popular thread. Hope you had a fun St. Paddy's, and stomped hell out of some table tops, in those stilettos.
