you're talking about two men who've had long careers. One of them, facing the voters every two years, discussing topics, debating in the house, etc, WHILST Rush is a pantload who sits behind a microphone answering to no one, debating no one and appearing with no one.

Rush's policy is that callers who disagree with him go to the head of the queue. He takes dissenting callers all the time. He lets them have their say and they he explains to them why they are wrong.

Do you know why they go on first? So that he and all subsequent callers can have the last word, change the topic, build a strawman, etc.

"callers who disagree with him go to the head of the queue" is one of the dumbest arguments I've ever heard.

Oh, that's baloney, that Rush's critics go to the head of the queue. His show is scripted, very scripted, and he doesn't take capable, qualified dissenting callers all the time, and he doesn't give them a reasonable amount of time or respect.

You're just a troll. Everything you say should be quickly debunked and mocked, and then others should be warned to stop feeding your troll posts.

Then either they are lying to you or you are lying here. That is factually untrue. Rush always puts callers who disagree first. He likes to take calls from dissenters. He does all the time.

As someone who actually listens to Rush, I think I am more qualified to speak to the format of his show than any of you who have never listened to him.

And liberals have talking points which say that whenever a conservative makes a logic arguement you automatically dismiss it as "talking points". If you can't rebut the substance of what a conservative says, you automatically go to "talking points" to disguise the fact that you have no answer.

BJ misspells many words. Especially two-bit words he tries to through out to show his superior "intellect." For instance, force majeure. He used it incorrectly on another thread and misspelled it, to boot.

While it might be entertaining for a few seconds, the only reason you might keep watching is pure morbid curiosity to see just how utterly shredded Mr. Limbaugh would be.

I speak from experience as a judge for high school forensic debate. I thoroughly enjoy a healthy debate between fairly evenly matched opponents. My last round of judging, however, had two debates which were complete train wrecks, one team having no idea that they were completely overmatched while the other knew, and had fun with it, accepting their defeat with dignity. The other team was just bewildered. Any debate between anyone who has actual knowledge and Rush Limbaugh would be like the latter - and it was heartbreaking to see when I judged the round. If I were to have the misfortune of watching a debate between Mr. Limbaugh and Mr. Kucinich, I regret to say that I would feel pity for Mr. Limbaugh.

Is anyone willing to say Dennis "Keebler Elf" Kucinich is not a mental midget? Dennis does not strike me as a man of great intellectual puissance. THere are some intelligent liberals (Schumer, Feingold, Frank, the Cllintons, etc), but Dennis is not among them.

What I do know is that Dennis has no courage. He didn't stand for his convictions. He got rolled and folded like a cheap suit. Although I disagree with him, I do respect a guy like Russ Feingold, for his consistency and intellectual honesty.

Rush USED to be, as you say, " a buffoon that embellishes"... but he's gotten worse the past couple of years. Probably just feeling the pressure to keep up with his imitators, who themselves feel the need to top their "father". That's why we're watching the rightwing talk machine drive into a wall...

Yes, embellishing and twisting facts is alright. I mean, that's not out and out lying, right? It disrepects no one. It's all for entertainment value. Doesn't hurt a soul.

Let's say I say I have three sons and I only have one. Just a slight twisting of fact, right? Let's say I said my name is Lily and it's really Grace. No big deal, right? Just tiny little twists, after all. Pfft, I mean, quit whining already. Because who are you to me? Nobody, right?

Rush's audience has no right to hear the truth. The people he hurts if the Healthcare bill doesn't pass are all just people he wouldn't associate with in real life anyway, right? They're just dirt beneath his feet.

Hey, it's all good. Nothing to get hung about. Nothing personal. I mean Rush never said he loved me (or anyone else in his audience), after all.

Hey, no disrespect........said like Jon Stewart imitating a mook. A little twisting of fact, a little embellishing never hurt anybody after all. He doesn't tell REAL lies. Except the lies he tells. That DO hurt people.

But he'll never get that. He might as well hire the patron saint, St. Jude, because he is a lost cause. He'll never get the fact that he does indeed hurt people with his twisting and embellishing. Because he affects real people. Not that he regards them as real people. And the fact that he's insensitive and doesn't care is a whole other kettle of fish. Because those people aren't HIS people. So they aren't important or worthy of respect. Or truth.

That, my mentally challenged friend, is a LIE.

He had the courage to stand up to the big banks in when he was mayor of Cleveland. The fat cats at the local bank wanted him to sell them the public electric utility. He said no and proposed the banks restructure the city's debt. The banks, in a hissy fit because they didn't get their way, sent the city into bankruptcy.

It ruined his career for a while, but today we have one of the lowest-cost public utilities around. Thanks Dennis.

And, FYI, he voted against the authority to go to war. Looks like he was correct on that one as well.

Please. If the term mental midget applies to anyone it's Rush. He never has anyone on to debate him because he can't win a debate unless he can hang up on the other person. I would love to see him try to debate Kucinich.

How is this even remotely germane? Some of the dumbest athletes get unbelievably hot women - does mean they are intelligent. Are you saying that because Dennis' wife is attractive that means he is intelligent? If so, I am not sure I see the connection.

Simple. If Kucinich's IQ and scholastic record were as dismal as Rush's, he never would have been elected to Congress, and he and his wife never would have met.

I have the nerve to post here when I know I am going to be slammed. Do you have the guts to go to Free Republic and engage in a 50-on-one debate? I doubt it.

The difference between Free Republic and liberal sites is that if a liberal posts on that site, they are substantively rebutted with logic and facts. VERY rarely is a liberal personally attacked or called names.

Whenever I make a salient point here, nobody addresses the SUBSTANCE of my arguement. People here either call me a racist, a fascist, call me stupid, or point out a typo.

Whenever someone calls me a name or whose only response is to point out a typo I know I have won the arguement.

The level of intellectual discourse is significantly higher at Free Republic than on this site. There really is no comparison.

I post here because there are some moderate people here who read but do not necessarily post. They are entitled to know the truth as opposed to the claptrap they read here. I rebut all the liberal lies, and I'm certain that my posts influence at least some non-ideologues who may read the threads here. If our statements went unchallenged an uninformed person would believe the nonsense liberals spew. I am a hedge against that.

The Freepers would eat you for lunch - they are brilliant people. I am trying to encourage some of them to post here (to counter all the lies), but they say it isn't worth their time to argue with Kool Aid drinkers.

BTW, every time you point out a typo yo uprove my point that you can't combat me on SUBSTANCE.

Schooled? LOL!!!!!!! Calling me stupid, a racist, or hilighting a typo is not schooling me. It shows your intellectual bankruptcy.

You are making statements that are factualy inaccurate aka a lie. Free Republic does not ban liberals. I have read liberals post there. Their claims are knocked down is substance and facts and there is almost zero name calling.

I post on Free Republic all the time. I respect the liberals who try to make substantive arguements (as opposed to the name calling that suffices for a rebuttal on this site).

Try the threads www.humanevents.com or www.townhall.com. Although you lack the testicular fortitude to do so, if you went to those UNMODERATED sites, the folks there would eat your lunch.

When I go to a liberal site, I win every debate. If you went to a conservative site, you would be owned.

In your mind you never lose a debate here because you run and hide whenever someone actually introduces well-sourced facts to counter your falsehoods. Such as: "Bill Ayers wrote Obama's book" or when multiple posters quoted from the report that you claimed vindicated Palin, when in fact that report found that she had abused her power. Posters copy and pasted from the report--knocking down what you said and, shockingly, you disappeared.

I actually think the right succeeded to a large extent. They got pretty much all of their ideas into the bill (in spite of claims that Republicans had been shut out of the process) and there will be no public option. The bill may be signed into law but it's far from a victory for the left or anyone interested in real reform.

You have a point. However, I think it is to the Republicans' advantage if the Dems fail to pass a bill. The Democrats are already damaged by 8 months of Republican lies (enabled by the "Liberal Media"), but if they don't pass anything, they'll lose their base, as well.

Actually I agree with you. It would be better for the GOP's electoral prospects if the bill passed. If the bill fails, the GOP will gain 50 seats. If it passes the GOP will gain 100 seats.

If I cared only about my party I would want the bill to pass, but I care more about my country than my party. Although the bill would be beneficial to the political prospects of my party, it would be an unmitigaged disaster for my country, so I choose to put the interests of my country first and I oppose this disastrous bill.

This is one of the reasons no one takes you seriously here, BJF: when you DO have a semi-valid point, you STILL feel the need to exxagerate it into cartoonish rightwing propaganda. Yes, there IS the possibility that, come fall, the GOP will be able to parlay the fallout over the health care debate into electoral victories.Of course, it might backfire on them, too, but any reasonable analysis concedes the possibility. But to say they're going to gain 100 seats is absurd- even the most optimistic GOP poll export wopuld laugh at that.If you're really interested in politics, stop believing the self-caricatured hype of Limbaugh and Beck and the Fox news machine, and go take a look at a wider range of coverage... and more importantly, start doing your own thinking.

In a new Wall Street Journal/NBC news poll, 46% of Americans say it would be better to pass the president's plan versus 45% who would prefer to not pass it.

Comprehensive polls also often show that when people are asked about the individual aspects of the bill, they like them. FoxNews and the Right Wing Noise Machine has been very effective in misleading the American people about what is actually in this bill. So many people who respond that they are opposed to the bill, when they are asked about the individual parts of it, they are in favor of it.

I do not believe that. Post a link. I would love to see the phrasing of the question. I took a few classes in polling. You can get any result you want depending on how you phrase the question. The fact that NBC is involved in the poll makes me suspicious.

You're willing to put full, unquestioning faith in any poll that has results you want to see, but yet are immediately suspicious of any poll that has results that do not fit your preconceived narrative.

He attended Cleveland State University from 1967 to 1970.[7] In 1973, he graduated from Case Western Reserve University with both a Bachelor and a Master of Arts degree in speech and communication.

From the Wikipedia page on Rush Limbaugh:

He graduated from Cape Central High School, in 1969. Because of his parents' desire to see him attend college, he enrolled in Southeast Missouri State University but left the school after two semesters and one summer. According to his mother, "he flunked everything", and "he just didn't seem interested in anything except radio."

Governor Jindal has his faults, but I can say with confidence that he would be very displeased to see this poster using his name.

Bobby Jindal doesn't seem to be a big Rush fan. He condemned the sexist language that Limbaugh used to describe Mary Landrieu after Senator Landrieu secured the medicaid funds that Governor Jindal asked her to secure.

Jindal did not ask Mary "Louisiana Purchase" Landrieu to secure funds. You are factually mistaken.

Gov. Jindal appeared as the featured interview in the Limbaugh Letter and was effusive in his praise of Rush. Jindal and I agree on 98% of all issues. Governor Palin and I agree on 99% of all issues which is why I prefer her. I chose this handle before she was nominated as VP.

Aaaaaand here we go again. Jesus. Do you even know what Marxism is? Apparently not, since you attribute "Marxism" to an entire political spectrum to the 'left' of what you believe is center. Stop babbling about "Marxism" when you don't even know what the damned ideas that comprise it are.

Yeah yeah, your response is no doubt going to be, "I do so know what Marxism is! You don't! Nuh-uh!" Or something equal to that, that a lobotomized half-wit could dribble out.

Just stop. You're an ignorant and greedy irrelevant little man who frantically watches Fox News for your latest talking points. You likely sit in your parent's basement or something, the eternal virgin, laughing about how you 'showed those evil commie pinko marxist fascist ignorant liberals' on some message board. All while talking to your little bobblehead doll of Ronald Reagan.

Bottom line, you have no idea what you're talking about. You know you don't, we know you don't. Go to sleep now so you can think up more fiction about how you're really an internationally based scholar who has wonderful friends, lots of money, girlfriends or a wife, etc etc. The only thing that you're marginally good for is a sounding board to try out new insults, and even that gets old after a while.

In any of the areas in CT that I'm familiar with someone would have knocked some sense into you WHILST you started with your, "You know not of what you speak." nonsense.

They speak English in CT, not Melville's English but modern English.

You write as if you're one of Ahabs' cabin boys on the Pequod, sailing out of new London, in the nineteenth century.

have taken many classes in economic theory. I have studied the Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital. I have read most everything Keynes has written. A Marxist is a person who advocates the theories of Karl Marx.

Yeah, you studied in England and France and are an expert on Austrian economics and blah blah blah.
I have never seen anyone online who boasts so shamelessly and so desperately. No one believes you. And most of us are old enough to know that you fit the profile of a lying child.
              What a load of crap!

Yeah yeah, (fanboy's) response is no doubt going to be, "I do so know what Marxism is!
Well, you called that one right.

Lying liars: he counts them as friends.

Hey Mary, Happy St. Patricks Day to you too. I wrote a limerick on the Megyn Kelly thread. Not that anybody's reading that thread much.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you Mary and to JJ.

I haven't seen any of the other narrowbacks around today, other than myself. Hopefully they're drunk and not reading today's talking points from BJF.

But it is possible for them to have a nip or two WHILST they post.

I'm not Irish and hopefully don't have the luck 'o the Irish (anyway, John Belushi style) but I'm all for a wee nip and a table dance.
              To All:
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
              May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

No hurry, no worry. I'm off to celebrate in about 30 minutes for Happy Hour. I plan to dance on a few tables and sing "Oh Danny Boy" really loud! ;-0) Anyway, I loved your limerick. Must keep the tradition alive here at MMFA, if only for you and me ;-0).
