And the grammatically incorrect usage of "illegal" as a noun to refer to human beings has the express purpose of demonizing and dehumanizing a target group of people. It's a tried-and-true rhetorical device, which allows us to maintain the myth of Judeo-Christian moral supremacy while we do some pretty nasty things to marginalized people. If they're "illegals", they're not really full legitimate humans, and our hands remain clean as we round them up like dogs, put them in cages, split up their families and then expel them like waste.
Why doesn't the bubble-headed bleach blond Kelly call the white rich American English-speaking citizens who commit felonies by hiring unauthorized immigrants, "illegals"? Isn't the term technically more appropriate for them?
