Is it amnesty? I haven't heard what's in the new bill but the last time the right was screaming amnesty it was nothing of the kind. BTW will Fox (or anyone else) give the same sort of coverage to the immigration rally that they gave to the tea parties?

Not only coverage but promotion of the rally too. Will they send a producer to cheerlead the crowds for the cameras? I'm sure they will, being "Fair and Balanced".

The Fox narrative is very specific in not support immigrants (legal or otherwise)

Their coverage will be the same as in Health Care Reform... OBSTRUCT, OBSTRUCT, OBSTRUCT

It's our fault. If we had bought the lie that death panels were included, or the lie that it would destroy jobs, or the lie that it would create rationing, this newest lie wouldn't be necessary.

Coming next: the Health Care bill contains actual, active viruses that will kill you and rape your children.

Oops sorry, I didn't notice that we had moved on to immigration- I just assumed that the Repugs were now claiming that the health care bill included free houses for terrorists who registered as Democrats and contributed to ACORN.

If you violate a civil code and then have to pay a fine, back taxes, fees, etc., that's not amnesty. None of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bills have amnesty in them. The word has been appropriated and redefined by nativist restrictionist lobbys in order to squash all intelligent discourse that involves other solutions besides mass incarceration and deportation. Anything that's not that is "amnesty", and "amnesty" is BAD.

And the grammatically incorrect usage of "illegal" as a noun to refer to human beings has the express purpose of demonizing and dehumanizing a target group of people. It's a tried-and-true rhetorical device, which allows us to maintain the myth of Judeo-Christian moral supremacy while we do some pretty nasty things to marginalized people. If they're "illegals", they're not really full legitimate humans, and our hands remain clean as we round them up like dogs, put them in cages, split up their families and then expel them like waste.

Why doesn't the bubble-headed bleach blond Kelly call the white rich American English-speaking citizens who commit felonies by hiring unauthorized immigrants, "illegals"? Isn't the term technically more appropriate for them?

The Troglodytes seem to be realizing that they're losing this round in the Healthcare Reform fight, despite 9 months of their lies and phony teabagging. Now they need a new topic to lie about.

From the little I've seen I thought there were many strings attached-community service, learning English, getting in the back of the line, etc, which I feel is the perfect solution. Throwing 12 or so million people out of the country would significantly affect our economy, but giving them a free pass isn't the right move either.

This was part of obama's campaign platform. Now they are going to say he is doing this to get votes. Did he know that before he started campaigning because he certainly had an immigration platform in mind at that time?

But in the mind the of the GOP and Fox News, the Scott Brown election has completely nullified President Obama's election.
