No, but she will die sooner than she otherwise would if this monstrosity of a bill is passed.

There is a panel of government bureaucrats who will decide whether or not it is cost efficient to treat you. They have a formula called Quality Adjusted Remaining Years (QARS). Yes, I have read the bill.

If the cost of a life saving medical procedure supercedes $25,000 X your QARS score, they will deny you said life saving procedure.

This is what Sarah Palin referenced. This is a DEATH PANEL.

Sorry, but my grandmother is not a shovel ready project.

Yes it is. If this passes, many doctors will opt out of medicare. The way medicare works is that if you acept one medicare patient you must accept all medicare patients. You must treat all or none - you can not pick of choose.

This bill cuts medicare by 4500 billion and does nothing to address the doctor fix (why are the Dems keeping that out of the bill, rhetorical question). The reimbursemetn schedule for doctors will be dramatically cut and many doctors will refuse to see medicare patients.

The bill will severely limit access and choice among medicare patients.

Not only that; it isn't differant at all from how private insurance companies handle such situations now. The differance that is offending Limbaugh is that on one hand (the new healthcare bill) it is the government deciding who lives and who dies and on the other (the current system) it's fine because that's just the market at work.

Here's a little secret Rush, everyone you love, except Dick Cheney is going to die. And even he'll die if we can some day drag him into the sunlight.

Rush doesn't need a bonus. The knowledge that lots of people are one illness away from losing their life savings is reward enough for him.

defending the insurance companies is almost as bad as defending goldman. I wish it was a government takeover. Why should the insurance companies who essentially serve as some sort of complicated version of money launderers and make Millions in profits as a result of collecting, stealing for compensation and withholding their costumer's own funds be allowed to stay in business? Unfortunately, rush is a clueless as ever on this point. Obama consistently said throughout the campaign and the process that single-payer was not even a feasible option for some reason. It never even really entered the debate at all he took it off the table so fast. They couldnt even use it as leverage. And meanwhile the insurance cartels, who will suck this country dry if they banks don't first, are continuing their money laundering scheme with the full endorsement of the US government who will now act as the enforcers of this mafia that continues to abuse and literally murder thousands of americans each year.

And their reward? Millions of new customers to abuse. Just think about the service insurance provides us? Is it not any different than some elaborate version of fraud. They collect money from customers every month for years and when expected to pay it back, fought and claw and use every possible course to keep the customers money as their profits which are spent on their salaries. And yet, they dont do jack - customers could just as easily put premiums in a pillow case and it would likely be more helpful than buying into an individual COBRA plan. Employer plans give the customer a little more leverage but the industry still uses their mame and kill their customers technique to horde their ludicrous profits. If anything, CEOs should be making 200 grand TOPS. They are neither smart nor innovative, they are just manipulative, dishonest, have large sums of customers money to lobby and remain immune to any semblance of compassion or empathy. They are in fact the DEATH PANELS that come between you and your doctor and with surprising ease and detachment will send you straight to your grave.

This is a Trojan Horse. It is the first step down the path toward socialized medicine - Barney Frank to his credit told the truth and explicitly stated as much.

If socialized you mean a Canadian style (which really isn't socialized medicine), than I hope you're right.

If you mean Great Britain's NHS (which is socialized medicine), than I don't think the US would do well with that... but no matter what, our Insurance system is the worst in the world. No where else does a country have a system as fraudulent and corrupt as ours.

I lived in England for five years - I am well aware of how their system works. I sure as hell don't want it here.

I needed surgery on me knee and I was placed on a nine month waiting list. I decided I didn't want to limp around in pain for nine months. I was extremely fortunate that I was able to fly to the US and pay for the surgery out of pocket, but not everyone living under an oppressive socialized medicine regime is as fortunate.

My brother, who has a fine health insurance policy, also had knee surgery and he, too, had to wait a few months before the procedure was done.

Nevertheless, you've just revealed to us that you are fortunate enough to be able to pay for your medical needs out of pocket. Given that the HCB is not providing universal coverage and will not lead to any kind of so called socialized medicine, it really won't have any effect upon you.

So, just shut the hell up.

which part of this bill is the trojan horse? The public option was the only thing that even resembled a government run insurance program and its not in the bill. Nothing in this bill could eventually become government run insurance. There is no program or mechanism, not even a small or potential one. Its all exchanges, regulation, subsidies, etc.

I am not a fan of Medicare - if I had my way I would phase it out (not overnight but over a period of ten years).

However, I am even less of a fan of double counting the cuts. Double counting is completely fraudulent. No business could operate on this model.

The crazies are going all-in on this one. They will spew every single lie that they have been spewing for the past year just to prove that they can sway the legislation. They have to do it . . . if they don't, they'll lose cred with the people who believe their crap.

Conservatism, my A**. It's egotism, plain and simple.

BJ fan, get a grip. Any quote you have asked for, you have gotten. You have been asked for a great many things and gone silent. Stay silent now.

          2) Stay silent - you sound like a fascist who wants to silence dissent.
