There were 3 big votes last evening.
The middle one was procedural. It was the motion to recommit. It's a common tactic, and is just procedural - asking that the bill be pulled back from the brink. It was rejected.
But there were 2 votes - one was on the bill itself, and the last bill was on the revisions in the amendment. Like I said.
That third vote was not procedural, and was necessary. Yes, once the votes were shown to be there for the bill itself, the amendment looked good to go, but it hadn't passed, which is what you wrote! Had you said that the first hurdle had been surmounted, and therefore the second hurdle shouldn't be any problem, or something similar, I wouldn't have said a thing.
It's the Senate bill AND the reconciliation amendment with the revisions.

In order to reclaim his American citizenship, he would need to file a declaration of allegiance on his 18th birthday. There is no proof he ever did so. If he did, show us the proof. He got what he wanted. He, the Democrat, made sure that this bill is what they said it would be. No Federal funding for abortion.

The bill does not DIRECTLY fund abortion. It gives subsidies to people to purchase insurance policies. People can use those subsidies to purchase a policy that inclues abortion. Without that subsidy, people would not be able to purchase that policy. Yes, I would rather someone be uninsured that purchase a policy that covers abortion.

If this bill did not provide for abortion it wouuld include language to the effect of prohibitingany insurance company that issues abortion coverage in a policy from participating in the exchanges.
If the company issued any polcies that cover abortion, they would not be allowed to participate in the exchanges, but that is not what the bill says.
Stupak sold out for 30 pieces of silver. The Senate bill provides for abortion. The House passed that bill. Language in a statute trumps an Executive Order. BHO may sign an order today, but he will surely rescind it at some point in time.
THe guy who opposed the Born Alive Infant Protection Act and is in love with partial birth abortion would never sign such an Executive Order unless he knew he was going to rescind it at some point in time.
