Well, Blimpy, one could argue that the Founding Fathers created this country to be an agrarian society in which the buying and selling of human slaves was allowed. Pardon us for trying to improve it.

Very enlightening. We should all be grateful to Rush von Sourgrapes for letting us know that America is intent on destroying itself. Pity he doesn't understand that "America as it was founded" has evolved into a much better thing already. No slavery, women can vote, and haters like himself can speak freely.

      When America was founded:

-Africans were property and only counted as 3/5 of a person.
-Women had no power other than to make babies, make food, and clean.

Americas was founded by the educated elite-the class that conservatives rail against so hard.

So no, we aren't going wrecking that on which America was founded-if anything, we're realizing it.

This is how you know that Limbaugh doesn't stand up for principles:

In arguing against Obama's plan, Rush forwarded the idea of covering 12 million people for a "smidgen" of the cost of the stimulus. It actually wouldn't be a small amount, of course, and threaten to bankrupt the country without the requisite serious insurance reforms the Democrats made. Regardless, Rush promoted a massive entitlement expansion program as an alternative to Obamacare - just like Republicans did with Medicare Part D. For them, it's not about good governance and conservative principle - if only it were! - but rather about power and its abuse.

America was also founded and built on the back of "free labor" aka slavery. Does rush think the abolishment of that institution was about destroying America? What about allowing women the right to vote? What about affording equal rights to women and minorities? Or maybe we should just go back to the way things were in the 1700's. These people are all for rugged individualism but wouldn't know what to do if they were actually forced to be "rugged individualists". This guy and his followers have absolutely no idea how much they actually adore the thigs afforded to them by a progressive government. A government that at the very least has a duty to protect its constitution and by extention its people from all threats, foreign and domestic.
