I admire your willingness to post even when you have nothing to say.

This is what makes MMFA so great- there's room for witless twerps who just want someplace to spout whatever pointless crud that comes out of their skull.

        Well played, Tommy.

...and I don't think Media Matters should continue the policy of allowing a thumbs up on your own post.

Yes, why didn't Eric Burns march uninvited into CNN's studios & walk on to the set, demanding an interview.

Exactly. Among a certain segment in this society, it's much easier to run off at the mouth rather than know what one is talking about. This accounts for their inbred tendency toward anti-intellectualism.

One thing I have observed is that the RNC and republicans know their clientele. Their leaked fundraising plans to use emotions to solicit money from them is dead on.

I wonder how they like being played like a fiddle?

You obviously know nothing in this regard. Getting onto a network by someone like Burns is a matter of request by him. Networks don't seek out bloggers.

Suppose I wanted to help defeat of Mitch McConnell this fall. Where would I start my efforts? Hint: It wouldn't be in D.C. Would I have to ask for air time? You bet!

I know, I know...unfair question, That's why Google is your friend.

Even ideologues have to get real from time to time.

This kind of talk is inflammatory, incendiary, and irresponsible. Bill O'Rielly made comment after comment about "Tiller the Baby Killer" until this man met an unfortunate end at the hands of some lunatic. Being able to broadcast to millions is a responsibilty and a priviledge. The airwaves should be used wisely. There are people out there whose grasp on reality is tenuous at best. When the inevitable happens these same clowns will make all kinds of excuses why they were not responsible for others actions. But that will not resolve them of guilt. Bill O'Rielly had a hand in Dr. Tiller's death, plain and simple. Others who practice hate speech are also just as guilty. The penalty? I don't know. But they are still guilty.

As stewart said, only CNN can act outraged and ask a guy to apologize for the very reason CNN hired him in the first place. CNN is such a crock! Its pathetic. This country's media is going to sh-t.

Like the pentagon and the church, CNN decides its better to ignore an outrageous issue than to actually deal with it. Nice lesson in accountability in America - there is none. Bush was not held accountable for trampling on the constitution by torturing and indefinitely detaining american citizens without trial and beck is not held accountable for saying the president hates white people. Oreilly does not apologize for helping to aid to the flames that ended in the murder of Dr. Tiller and america is not held accountable for invading iraq for no cause whatsoever. NO ACCOUNTABILITY - What is this supposed to teach the younger generation? You could just ignore your past and get away with anything you want?

"Do you believe conservative media gets a free pass for hate speech?" Kind of a leading poll question. The question's wording is confusing and who would answer "no?"

And, once again, a misuse of the name "conservative." These people calling for violence are right-wing provocateurs...not conservatives.

Finally, since when is CNN the trusted top news source in America?

I agree it's a completely slanted poll question, I'm very disappointed by it. I expect better from Schultz.

"And, once again, a misuse of the name "conservative." These people calling for violence are right-wing provocateurs...not conservatives."
Conservatives need to take accountability for the people they're attracting to their party. These people calling for violence identify themselves as Conservatives. The onus rests upon the Conservative movement to excoriate these people or jump ship and start a party that renounces hardcore Tea Partiers and their incendiary rhetoric.

And what did Liberals do to "excoriate" anti-war protesters preaching violence against Bush? Or those crazy anti G8 or G20 protesters?
Nuts are nuts. Not much anyone can do about it. Isolated acts of nuttery do not define any group.

They didn't do enough in my opinion.

Though I don't doubt it exists, please cite documented examples of protesters advocating violence against Bush. I'd be interested in comparing the rhetoric between Bush & Obama protesters.

I do think CNN should have had Eric Burns on one of their programs to question and counter their choice of airing Erickson's views. Granting that Fox caters to the right and that MSMBC (I reluctantly agree) to the left, why can't we have at least one 'fair and balanced' network?

Shame on CNN - Burn's is going to be their next Beck, except this time they'll keep him on the leash and cash in.

Of all the shows on MSNBC I respect Big Ed the most. He's one of the few on the left that's willing to bring the real voice of labor and the left to tv/radio.

CNN is where Glenn Beck started. Why is anyone surprised by this? He was canned because he was controversial. Now, this toad is trying to backwalk saying what he said wasn't really...er...what he said. When he flames just enough, FAUX News, we distort, we crap all over democracy will grab him up and probably put another uber blond with him. You know a page six girl. Can you say, "Seig Heil?"

Glen Beck reminds me of those kids I grew up with that was raised by parents who live through an era where being white was the deciding factor in their successes and wealth, even though having some education and connection didn't hurt.
This guy seems like other wealthy white males to not understand the black to gray blends that make up the degrees to which is the American economic, educational and class blends. These tedious nuances tend to frustrated people of material comfort, because they want the world to be either you do like me or your a failure without contextual importance.
I find it rather comical watching Fox News and others who attempt to make everything so simple and clear, yet at the same time really not say a word of importance to what most Americans live through everyday and some cases for decades.
I guess any other effort would expose the shear void that has been created by the wealthy over decades to keep a certain segment of the population feeling worthless and wanting to do more with the little they have to become acceptable in a material culture incapable through their sheltered upbringing to know what real determination looks like and feels like when you start out with nothing.

My under-employed son, who graduated from a good university last year, is one of those Census "twerps" the POS Erickson basically threatened to shoot. My kid is hardly a government twerp, and is only trying to ride out the recession/depression, but if God forbid, any sort of gun violence were to happen to him, I would immediately look to CNN and the POS Erickson as responsible.

My wife would aim her own shotgun sights right at him,... oh wait, I mean speaking metaphorically of course!... you know... in Palinesque terms, yeah,... that's it... just like the half governor (wink, wink). Of course, it's not LITERAL, and anyone who thinks that is just stupid and doesn't get sophisticated satirical ironic humor! In no way, shape or form am I condoning retaliatory shotgun violence should a tea-bagger wingnut take the POS Erickson seriously and shoot at census workers like my kid. (nervous-sounding chuckle)
