It's not as funny as predictable. I think we all knew this was coming at some point. And here we are. Now, Glenn Beck can excuse most anything because "God told him to do it." There is no doubt the bewildered sheep who follow him will resonate with this new paradigm of his. You see how his now setting himself up? He is following the classic tactics of televangelists. Warning us as a lone voice in the wilderness, then propping himself up as a victim. Then taking orders directly from God. I'm telling you, this man is potentially dangerous as Hitler or at least Jim Jones.

I wonder if Beck is starting to realize what kind of trouble his mouth has already gotten him into and is now trying to somehow rein in the masses that he has set loose. Appealing to a god isn't in his modus operandi but he probably realizes that the suckers he feasts on would take god seriously.

Did you guys hear what he said? Did you listen to the clip? Listen to the clip again.

"I don't want to utter something like this without thinking it through. What I was about to say is this; The problem is, is that god is giving a plan to me, but its not really a plan, I stopped my self from uttering those things, aloud, thats not exactly right, and its not."- Beck

MMFA distortion. Don't fall into the trap.

Which god is that, Glenn? Not mine:

Proverbs 14:17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

Proverbs 29:22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

Ecclesiastes 7:9 Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

Jonah 4:4 Then said the LORD, Doest thou well to be angry?

You tread very dangerous ground, Mr. Beck. Be wary of the words you choose.

Your wrong. The Bible NOT says anger is equal to murder. Anger can cause you to act on something for good. Jesus Himself got angry and cleared the temple whe He saw how it was being misused. Also, how is having a relationship with God blasphemous? Didn't Abraham, Moses, David, Elija, Daniel, Ezekiel, John the Baptist, John the beloved and many others hear God speak to them? Not to put Beck in the same category as these men, but people who have a relationship with God do hear Him speak to their heart. So how is that blasphemous?
What is blasphemous is to speak falsehoods of God's Word. (hint-hint)

Let someone preach about loving their neighbor as they love themselves and see how many liberals attack it like a "pit bull on a small child." Let someone preach about the least of these amongst us being the greatest of these amongst us and see how many liberals attack it like a pit bull. Attacking Beck for saying God gave him a plan is not attacking "anything God related," it's attacking Beck for being an egotistical nutjob. Most of the attacks from liberals have nothing to do with God, they have to do with the conservative using God to further their same old lame and tired talking points. Sure there are some atheists out their who mock anything God related. You have some of those on the left and right. They mock anything God related whether it be political in nature or not. Most of the political arguments coming from liberals though are in direct response to the conservative(s) pushing an agenda and using God or the Bible to justify their position.

Here we go. This is why Beck became a mormon; his ideal is the scamp Joseph Smith, who managed to sell a wild fantasy, and continues to fool millions. He too traded heavily on victimhood real and imagined, and suffered serious delusions of grandeur.

Lest Beck forget, Smith came to a sticky end. I don't wish the same for him. I think prison and poverty would be punishment enough.

Uh boy, the cheese is off the cracker, off the table and rolling towards the door! Glennie, why would God choose a drug and drink addled hate-monger to put out his special message to the people? The Founding Fathers were well connected and established before they went against the British government. They had educations, and they made plans after discussions among equals. It wasn't some dark, wild conspiracy. They didn't claim to be receiving direction from God, either. Some of the Founding Fathers were religious, but others were not, and traditional Christians were in the minority. You are selling garbage to your audience, you are preying on their fears to enrich your wallet. To do these things and then to lie about it makes you an evil person, Glennie. Someone may be sending you messages, but it isn't God.

So God is talking to Glenny? So I guess he thinks he is a prophet now. No doubt all the goobers who listen to him now think that he is God's man on earth. Saint Glenny! LOL.
I swear this moron gets more and more delusional all the time. Next thing ya know he will be wearing a robe and pretending to be Moses as he leads his peoplle to the promised land.
I have also noticed that lately Glenny has been espousing non-violence left and right. Why is that I wonder? I am going out on a limb here and say that Glenny has been getting a lot of emails from his kook fringe followers who are saying that they have the guns and ammo and are ready--at his word--to start taking back America by force. Of course Glenny wants no responsibility for his crazed followers killing someone so now he is talking about non-violence every chance he gets. You reap what you sow Glenny!

This is scary stuff. Beck is essentially claiming divine inspiration. According to Beck, God speaks through him and by doing what Beck says, they are following God. He tells his listeners not to think, but to trust their “gut”. And if there is no such thing as “coincidence” everything can be spun to look like what ever Beck wants. What a charlatan!

Beck: "God is giving a plan, I think, to me," says God is asking us to "stand, peacefully, quietly, with anger"

Oh, good. But why aren't you acceding to the part of God's request that you stand quietly?

This also makes Huckabee, Palin, Bachmann, and the rest of the far right-wing fundies charlatans. My Bible says that one is to pray in private, and not to use Christianity as a prop to put on a public show, which is exactly what they are/have been doing.

Tell that to Brit Hume. He thinks being on Tee Vee means he can use his public platform to prostelize his religion.

Get a clue, your elementary school, name calling tactics expose you for what you are, a wannabe-hippie, part-time, community college political science professor.

Has anything to do with MMFA???

Sounds like he is stating that the national platform they have is what he is referring to as the big league.

Beck, as a believer in the 19th Century Joseph Smith mythology, sees himself as a latter-day theocratic prophet whose followers of true-believers in the cult of the GOP are likely to latch on to Beck's latest ploy to don the shield of Christianity. Like his mythological hero Smith, Beck's goal is to achieve political martrydom. He routinely alludes to the possibility of being physically killed. But short of that, political "persecution" as a result of his latest antics are a prelude to the real thing. Any "persecution" Beck will endure as a result of this latest rant about God giving him a plan etc. will of course serve to strengthen the narrative of political martyrdom he is writing in his head for his followers.

Beck is going to give us a plan, but I'm sure that he will do that at the next time Beck is charging money for people to go see him. Please, Please enlighten us. We'll pay.

Now, how many people have told us that they hear voices of God--usually the worst politicians and cult leaders like Koresh and Joseph Smith, and the Governor of Arizona and Bush. I don't think I want to listen. Your quiet rants are as stupid as the loud ones.

I think the strange part is that these folks, who usually breath, drink, and sweat the Book of Revelations of St. John the Divine (a fevered (literally!) screed in the form of a circulated diocese letter by an early Bishop), are in Beck's case forgetting one of its main lessons -- to keep watching out for the "Beast" -- and how to tell when he finally comes.

One of the signs is that he will seem too smooth and believable -- they roll this one out to try sticking Beasthood on Obama, but when it comes to Beck, where is that same caution? Another sign is that he's a false preacher -- those two words apply to Beck far better than they do to Obama. Obama at least tries to adjust his message occasionally, and has never been known to claim that "God" told him to do or say anything -- so much for that sign...

Another sign is that the Beast "will unite all mankind under his banner." Why doesn't that make them suspicious of someone who's trying to set up his own brand and attract followers" -- always the first step, I'd say, in trying to take over the world. Why isn't their anger and fear telling them that it is just possible that THEY are the first of this "all mankind" prophesy? Do they think the fact that they are persuaded by the Beast means that the Beast is not the Beast?

To pin this one on Obama, though, doesn't fit at all, unless one would go so far as to suspect the sacred Founders of setting out from the very beginning of the country, to put the Beast into the White House when he (finally!) shows up... Why else would they have specified that anyone naturally born could become President just by winning the vote? They could just as easily have specified anyone natural born and WHITE, couldn't they???

It's as if they KNEW this (election of a Black man the Wingers hate) would someday happen, and their long-laid plans to ruin their own country would finally be realized!!! OMG!!!
