Scarborough: Katrina-oil spill comparison is "absolutely obscene" and anybody that draws that analogy "is an idiot"

And nobody knows idiots like idiots.

Scarborough is right on this one, but let's remember that even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Try this experiment- turn on Morning Joe and turn your back to the screen and just listen. Or if you have XM/Sirius, listen to the show on the radio. You'll see very quickly why I prefer the name "Morning Noise." 99% of the time it's a gaggle of men trying to out-testosterone each other while Mika plays the ineffectual grown-up, blurting out the occasional "oh come on" and "yeah.." and "oh, stop" before being slapped down by sexist condescension coming from the Big Boys On TV.

Joe is one of the few I really respect even as a left leaning centerist. I may not always agree with him but at least he is consistent with his views and not one party or the other's. He is one of the few who is not a hyporcrite and I would love to see him run someday

Just what is Mika's function on this show anyway?

Kudos to Joe for bucking his party. I also commend him for challenging Pataki yesterday. The Katrina meme is sickening for anyone who actually follow the issue. To me, the problem is not that the far right is espousing this spurious comparison but that "mainstream" republicans such as Perino, Pence etc are making the comparison without much push-back.

On another note, my discontent with Morning Joe has less to do with Joe. He is a Republican so 95% of what he has to say I'm going to disagree with. As long as he is not shouting down a guest or on one of his sarcastic rants, I'm usually willing to lend a ear. It is with the regulars who are either unwilling or unable to challenge him on the major issues, from HC to stimulus to the torture. Barnicle is a prime example. Harold Ford is another. Mika lost me for good after her series of Liz Cheney "interviews" and her Palin appeals to "real Americans" comment.

I think it's official. Hand in your GOP membership card, Joe.

The Troglodytes are glomming onto this like leeches. Instead of seeing it as a repudiation of "Drill, baby, drill", they see it as an opportunity to hammer the black guy in the White House.

The latest from Hate Radio Land: There is a "rumor" that the Oil Rig was torpedoed by a North Korean Sub. I actually heard this from our local Talking Troglodyte this morning. Of course, their spin is that Obama is too weak to do anything about it, so there's a cover up to hide the truth.

Has anybody told Joe that using words like "idiot" isn't going to ingratiate him with anybody?

I appreciate Joe telling the truth from his vantage point. Hopefully, he won't walk his comments back. Although Joe and Mika make me crazy most of the time, today he did a good job.

After that comment, I’m sure the GOP is scrambling to fund a candidate to challenge his seat.
