If God's hand wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution who are we to have amended the work of God?

These people believe in the inerrancy of the Bible, which was written down by men, yet they allow the actual work of God, the Constitution, to change to allow for women to vote, slaves to be free, liquor to be illegal and then legal again? What's up with God? Why can't he seem to make up his mind?

Beck's act is getting old and very frightening.

You have to love it, a high school grad and half semester college drop out delivering a commencement speach to a graduating college class. Says a lot about the level of that education institution.

BECK: I have no idea what God's will is for this great country of ours.
I bet you thought Glenn Beck knew what God's will is in everything, didn't you? But Glenn, being the honest, humble and modest guy he is, must shatter our misconceptions, and try to convince us that there are some things even he doesn't know.

If this is true I can't help but notice that God put that separation of church and state thingy into the Constitution.

So, Glenn, if it was "God's finger" that brought you to Fox "News" then pray tell, which one, and what on earth was he doing with it before - picking his nose?

And I also find myself wondering if God is giving Beck the finger.

God inspired a deist to write the Declaration of Independence? Does Beck know that his favorite Founding Fathers ( Jefferson, Paine) were the most radical?

But seriously, do we really want to become a theocracy? Like, say, Iran?

NO THEOCRACY! Can you imagine the prayer book that Bush/Cheney & Co. would've dreamed up? Or Sarah "The Quitter" Palin?

You're free to believe that if you like, Glenn. Doesn't make it true. I do happen to believe that our President, whoever it is, rules because of the will of God.

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Romans 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Romans 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

Romans 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Romans 13:5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

Romans 13:6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

Romans 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

See that word tribute? That's a real old word for 'tax'. You fear the government? Then you must be doing evil, just as it says in verse three. And Obama? If you are a believing Christian, guess what? Obama is President because God wishes it so. But, I really don't think you ARE a Christian. I think you're just another wealthy poser, hoping nobody listening has more biblical knowledge than you do. You are a fraud and a con man, and you have opposed the very God you claim to believe in by your actions against President.

You never know, Porkeater. Bobby Jindal fan might stop by ;)

I post mostly for those who are still curious, though here at MMfA I often feel I'm preaching mostly to the choir (the metaphor seemed quite apt).

I think the cops might've finally found BJfan's meth lab. There's been a real dearth of misspelled claims of a superior education around here for the past week or so.

God wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution? Is that why slaves and women had no rights?

Our Founding Fathers never intended for one religion to be placed on the pedestal over all the other religions in this country.

Apparently, this is what Glenn Beck the Radio Clown wants, though.

AMEN Brother!!(or Sister) ..Isn't it amazing there is little acknowledgment of American history until Europeans found out the America's existed and had been populated for many many centuries!!!!
Where are the millions of Native Americans and how was their culture reflected in the Constitution? It is so arrogant to throw out the Constitution as some ideal or perfect instrument. It did not address slavery, uphold rights of Native Americans or women. Even with ammendments and new laws, actual practices were not necessarily in line with the intent of the Constitution or the laws.Of course some laws were unjust and in conflict with the stated intent of the constitution. We are still perfecting this system..or we were until the "never apologize/we're always perfect" crowd started attacking the patriotism of anyone acknowleging an American mistake here an there.Yet the same group attacks the government so negatively it looks hardly patriotic!

I am of Aboriginal people. In Canada. My ancestors had bounties paid for their noses. It was too easy to cheat with scalps and ears, but you could count on a nose coming from one person. True fact. I am a practicing Christian, even been to seminary , and you know, I don't think God had anything to do with an attempted genocide. Someday Mr. Beck , you will have to answer before God.

He's been reading David Barton's "historical" tomes which are filled with FALSE quotes that Barton pulled right out of his a** and has had to ADMIT that there is no record of AT ALL. That's what happens when an unintelligent person "self-educates."
