        It almost sounds like a Donald Trump setup to create controversy/publicity. Isn't this pageant the one that is owned by Trump?

          Donald Trump is like an old man I know who goes to the casino a lot.When he gets his social security check,he goes there waits,and looks around for women who have lost all their money.He says he gets lucky at the casino.He says women are easier to talk to when they lose.Donald Trump does the same thing at beauty pagents.

          Of course he is. This contest is a dead horse that is still being beaten every year. I mean, who really cares about Miss America? Trump loved all the controversy Prejean (sp) brought to the pageant last year - kept it going another year.

      A "Muslim-American" won, according to Gretchen. I'm trying to pin-point exactly which country a "Muslim-American" is from in order to warrant the description.

      Maybe Gretchen meant "Lebanese-American." I guess, though, that would have actually described her cultural background accurately, and weakened her point that the poor little conservative girl lost to the big bad terrorist contestant.

All that money you've invested over the years in blonde hair and blue eyes and now Miss USA isn't just another cookie cutter version of you. Guess what? All kinds of people live in America besides just the Aryan race. Was Miss Kalih born here? Then she is American, just like you.

      I understand that you are just like a chocolate covered fascist, but you are fascist just the same. To be quite honest, you are racist as well, because you are implying that it was Miss Kalih's skin color and ethnicity that won her the crown, and not her stunning good looks.       Gretchen... did you mean.. why didn't the Christian-American win? How about the Jewish-American, was she not PC enough? Was here a Mormon-American in the pageant? What about the controversy over the the Scientology-American that was denied entrance to this year's pageant (I just made that up)


      The only thing that Gretchen said right was questioning why anyone cares what a Miss America winner has to say.... by the way Gretchen, how was it that you broke into the media?

        Maybe they should create a new pageant: The Miss REAL America!

        Instead of having states, they can be by religious sect ('christian' only).. Miss Catholic, Miss Baptist, Miss Episcopalian, etc.

      Okay, the Miss USA/Miss Universe group is NOT the old Miss America pageant. They don't really give a rip if these women have brains or not. It is purely a T&A contest, that's all. Miss Michigan won because the judges thought she had a hotter body and a prettier face. That's ALL.

        From the Daily News article cited above:

        "She [Ms. Fakih] is a graduate the University of Michigan-Dearborn with degrees in economics and business management. She plans to begin law school after her year-long reign."

        Meanwhile, there's Carlson, with her two pet gerbils at her side, doing exactly what she makes fun of these other beauty contestants for supposedly wanting to do. Project much, Gretchen?
