If GW Bush's record is any indication of what the president's job really is (lie us into war, ignore natural disasters that kill several thousand Americans, subvert our laws against torture, demonstrate an astonishing lack of interest in the duties of the presidency)...

Then I would agree Obama is not competent to do THAT job.

What is pitiful is the person that they admire most, St. Ronnie, was far from competent. During his second administration people people were running rampant, selling the president on whatever they deemed legitimate (Iran/Contra). I really think that he was too far gone to notice, Alzheimers was already taking a serious hold. IF that defines competence to these folks, all you can say is "wow."

these folks are a disgrace to what is supposed to be a news organization and Laura isnt competent to even be able to comment on what this president is doing,,to sit there and declare that how the bush administration handled Katrina way better than this oil spill is being handled is a total disregard for the truth not that fixed noise is capable of telling the truth i agree with nerzog, the follks that soap up this nonsense from clusterfox n friends are being thoroughly misinformed,,,utterly shameful.

And, I would have to question the competence of someone with so much hatred inside for others being allowed to adopt and raise small children by herself.

Whomever has the responsibility to listen to Laura Ingraham when she is on a program has my sincere sympathy. I can't listen to that nasal, self-important voice for more than 30 seconds.

What happened to " hands off government " battle cry ?

So Laura (and Rush and Beck and O'Reilly and Hannity and the Fox and Friends trio of Jack, Janet and Chrissy), put your money where your mouth is. If you don't like how things are being run, if you think leadership is incompetent, then run for office. Media figures like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ronald Reagan, Fred Grandy and Al Franken put their media roles aside and ran successfully for public office. And three out of those four are conservative Republicans.

If you know exactly what's wrong with government and why current politicians aren't doing their jobs with any competence, then do it for yourself. Otherwise, give insightful criticism, rather than silly and predictable snipping.

Seriously, what does she think, that not only has it not occurred to Obama that more boats and skimmers would be useful, but that it hasn't occurred to anyone in the Coast Guard or federal government? Obama's only real failure in this is not cleaning house at the MMS, but that too was a problem he inherited.

You have to consider the audience. I was on Fox News' website the other day and one poster thought GWB was intelligent and well read, heck he graduated from Yale. I'm scared.

katrina wasn't decades ago revisionist nutjobs - i think most people can still remember it. That mess bush called disaster response was run like the Hindenburgh. Moreover, no one was to blame for the original disaster and the hurricane had some sort of start and end point in which the relief effort could be initiated. BP and not mother nature is responsible for this catastrophe and it doesn't have an end point in sight which makes it a little hard to clean up something that is ongoing indefinitely.

It would be like a three month long hurricane katrina - how would bush have faired with that one?? Finally, what the f--k would mitt romney be doing to help this thing right now? That is the second time laura airhead said mitt should be recruited because he ran some company - was it an oil rig company laura? Did he run a professional diving school? Shockingly, Your own ideas are more worthless than your talking points.

It certainly is edifying to hear a bunch of people who run their giant mouths for a living and aren't capable of doing anything else passing judgment on who's "competent".
