To be fair I'd say that's not their first choice. They'd rather have Obama resign in shame (not that he has anything to be ashamed of) or see him impeached (not that he's come close to an impeachable offense or any offense for that matter.) But yeah. They'll keep teasing that panther just in case.

Yeah, it is a good question to ask exactly which states would 'rise up' and secede from the federal government. Many states are struggling to balance their budgets even with federal assistance right now.

My husband works in personnel. He says we face shortages in quite a number of labor markets, usually lower level, low paying jobs. We need people to pick crops and tend lawns, wait and bus tables, and clean offices. Lots of Americans refuse to take these jobs. In the past, we have had programs that allowed immigrants to come in and take these jobs when Americans weren't available. It is a problem now only because the economy is tight and Americans are looking at jobs they hadn't considered before: construction, etc. Why don't we revive those programs and regulate these laborers? The jobs would get done and they would have legal status. Knowing where immigrants are and what they are doing is much better than worrying about all this shadow activity.

Beck: "There are six or eight Senators and, umm, I've talked to a few Senators off the record about what's going on."

So, you've held these little discussions about matters so grim, but you can't get a precise headcount?

It's gems like these that will always remind me to never, never, never take anything Glenn Beck says seriously.

I don't know who Beck is talking about, but if there truly are Senators talking about civil war, then they could be charged with treason, depending upon what they are saying. I'm calling BS on this statement.

I don't know ANYONE who is looking for a civil war, nor do I know anyone who is talking about it AT ALL. Most folks I know are talking about their personal lives, their children, all-star games, vacations, etc.

Oh my--let's back up for a second and actually *gulp* accept Glenn's word on this matter.

Beck has, on many occasions, said that he is not a journalist. That being the case he is not entitled to any "off the record," or "unnamed source" shields.

That being the case, since he has told us that he has spoken with individuals who are considering an act of treason against this nation, he is obligated to give the names of these persons to the proper authority. If he does not, he is aiding in this plot and should therefore be incarcerated.

Of course, he could always admit this was yet another example of a load of ca-ca coming out of his mouth, but how likely is that to happen?

It will soon be undeniable that he hates the sport because it takes attention away from him and punches holes in his theories. That win is big for the sport. It's also times like these that bring people together and make them realize they just want to be happy. Beck can't have his people and everyone else happy about the same things in life.

What is it with Becky and all the violent talk? I don't know ANYONE, right or left, that is talking about civil war. But Becky keeps babbling about it as if it were imminent. "Civil war! Blood on the streets! Riots! Americans are pushed to the edge! Fight! No turning back! Mass casualties!" And on and on it goes--blahh, blahh, blahh. Who's thinking about this stuff except for some backwoods rednecks? But Becky believes it is right around the corner. Talk about delusional! And I like how he covers his tracks by saying although a civil war is imminent his followers are to be "peaceful". (Yeah right.) That way when some redneck(s) start shooting people Becky can claim he told them not to be violent.

It's like a drug addict who needs more and harsher drugs.

His audience no longer is so simpleminded, they need to constantly move the bar higher, regardless of the reality.

They no longer are frightened of "Obama is a Nazi"... it's now Civil War!!!

Plus, a scared audience will foolishly buy more gold.

The threat of war is always present when you have an unjust society like America, who treats some of its people like second-class citizens, However, the threat of war increases when you have people like Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and Fox News spewing hate and dividing people along racial lines.
Such talk will lead people to take up arms against other people, including the President. In fact, this is what this evil is all about.
Not only do they want this President to fail, but they want him out of the white house in the worse way.
If their is some unrest Beck want to be able to point the finger at Barack Obama and blame him.

Indeed, an excellent post. It is also noteable that Shay's Rebellion was under the Articles of Confederation, and the rebellion caused the Founders to try for a stronger, central government and our Constitution. A lot of the Teabaggers seem to want to return to the Articles of Confederation because they have forgotten the lessons learned from it.

I thought I understood all the Business Models being used by corporations, but I guess some CEO's think that hiring someone to instigate a Civil War is good for the bottom line.
