This rally is a promotion for his new book called "The Plan." That's all. Beck is crazy, but he's also very, very greedy.

He is systematically trying to destroy the political opposition (democrats or those with any intelligence) by painting them as communists or fascists and blaming them for various and sundry historical atrocities. But, he has realized that he can't demonize the civil rights movement in the same way so he is taking it and claiming it for the republicans. Rove must be pulling the strings here.

What color were the people manning the fire hoses Becky? Bull Connor was what color? I'm sure some people would pretend that these events did not occur but they did! To be fair though there were many White people in the trenches alongside of Martin Luther King in those days. More Whites need to call you out Becky! You are a pariah! This stunt at the Lincoln Memorial is not good. I don't see any good coming from it. It's more like a powderkeg! It could be your undoing!

No, Blacks don't own Martin Luther King, but they shouldn't sit still for a bunch of older White Americans, who probably opposed him when he was alive, now wish to wrap themselves and their agenda to undo his legacy in his mantle. I find this perversion of Dr. King's image and goal to be patently offensive and I will be there to document just what goes on.

Beck sounds more and more unhinged by the day.

If there's ANYONE in the mainstream media that is the opposite of Dr King today... it's Michael Savage. ;) But Beck is a runner-up at least. I can't EVER imagine Beck actually caring about what Dr King said - not just about racism, but about war. Beck loves war 9as does his followers). He loathes everything Dr King stood for. The idea that Beck is somehow in any way doing what Dr King did is not only idiotic, it's offensive (and I'm not easily offended).

But, he'll make money off of it. So I guess he really doesn't care.

Yeah, Beck isn't going to ask anyone to violate the Sabbath.

The Christian observance of the Sabbath, that is. He's just fine with violating the Jewish observance of it.

Granted, I doubt this will be an inconvenience to his intended audience, friends of Israel though they may be.

That's what I was thinking. He's also apparently fine with violating the Seventh Day Adventist observance and Jehovah's Witness observance of the Sabbath, too.

Actually, I don't think he really cares, he and his handlers just figured that they'd get a bigger crowd on Saturday AND the 8/28 date would stir enough controversy to get people who don't watch or listen to him to come, just out of curiosity. This is all about promotion of his book and money in his pocket.

Of course. Most Evangelical Nutbags observe Sunday as the Sabbath. And the Jews? The Troglodytes don't care about the Jews, as long as they show up on time for Armageddon.

And many Evangelical normal people. About 1/5 of this country's Christians share the beliefs of Falwell, et buds. Even less share the beliefs of LeHaye and Jenkins (the "Left Behinders.") That percentage is much, much smaller in the world-wide Christian community

But they sure are noisy and that's what gets the attention. So--sadly--they are a very public face to Christian faith and how it should be followed, important personal choices I thought what should be an intensely private matter

I'd find it hilarious if what happned at this 8/28 rally was,

a 1000 people showed up for Beck, one thousand white people lets say.
Meanwhile at the counter-rally thing, 2500 people show up, 1100 white people, 1400 black people.

It'd be funny to see such a diverse crowd calling Beck out for his disrespectful bullsh!t

Glenn.YOU lie as usual..who has said that they don't judge someone by their character?? How do you make such a claim?
In any event I am judging you on your character and I say ..YOU HAVE NONE!!!YOU know Martin Luther King would not agree with your anti-social justice,anti-civil rights rhetoric. You would be calling Dr King a marxist everyday based on what you espouse to your listeners!!!You recently said public schools should be eliminated..would Dr King agree with that!?
The founding fathers supported slavery and obviously would have been aghast that women can now vote and also hold important, elected offices! What would they say about having a Black President...the same that YOU say everyday..here in the land of the free!?

I'm so digusted. He truly is a pre 1978 Mormon (thats the year they finally got a "revelation" that Black people could be ordained). He just doesn't get it and I cannot wait til this blows up in his face. I am continually shocked at his depths of stupidity and arrogance. Take your blood money and retire, please. I mean what ARE you? You're not an historian. You're not a "politician," You're not an "entertainer." You're a hate monger and the Wh of Babylon. I find it completely believable that he didn't know that 8/28 was an anniversary of Reverend King's "I Have a Dream" speech.

There is so much he doesn't know, and what he claims to know is usually wrong, and "simply" (in every sense of the word) wrong.

Who has said "character doesn't matter", as in "too often, we have been told that character doesn't matter...." Really, somebody stood up and said, "I say to you here and now, my fellow Americans, character doesn't matter! God bless you all, my fellow lowlifes, and God bless the United States of America!"?

Pretty stupid to claim that we have had that said to us "too often", Glenn.

We'd better pray that the 8/28 rally isn't a "turning point in American history", as Glenn claims. If it is, it can only be the beginning of the decline and fall of the United States.

A guy who has no Black friends and specifically points this out judges people by the content of their character? A guy who accuses the president of being a racist doesn't judge people by the color of their skin? Just once I want a conservative to tell me what else Dr. King talked about in his sermon besides that one quote they take out of context. How much of the rest of the speech do they agree with?
