Sad thing is that we had 4 justices that did vote against the 2nd amendment. Did anyone here really think Obama wouldn't nominate someone just as radical as he is for the SCOTUS? He did say he was in favor of the ban after all.

So, annoyingly moderate, in other words.

Actually, no we just had 5 justices who voted for their bizarre and incorrect interpretation of The Second Amendment. An interpretation which set aside many years of precedent.

Kagan, for the record, is so moderate that several of the confirmation witness in her SUPPORT are noted conservatives.

You really do have a very bad case of the stupids today. Keep it up.

You should be on the court. If you are in favor of the ban then Ruth Ginsberg and you would get along great. I'm sure you would vote the same.

            I'm not for a gun ban at all . . . I come from a hunting family.

Squawks, if you were truly a conservative, you would be appalled at what the majority is doing to our Constitution right now. They are GUTTING it.

You make assumptions based upon your false idea of what makes up "conservatism" and "liberalism." You have NO idea what you are talking about . . . EVER. You post ridiculous talking points and then, if someone tells you that they are ridiculous, you immediately call them a "lib." Lies are lies, squawks. Nothing conservative about repeating a lie . . . just makes you a liar, too.

The Supreme Court ruled for the first time Monday that the Second Amendment provides all Americans a fundamental right to bear arms, a long-sought victory for gun rights advocates who have chafed at federal, state and local efforts to restrict gun ownership.

I know all about this decision, but it was a faulty interpretation of the Constitution, squawks. That was my point. This, together with the ridiculous one on the D.C. ban, set aside long-held precedent on the interpretation of the Second Amendment. For some reason, many people just don't want to read the ENTIRE Second Amendment.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

They just want to leave everything out BEFORE "the right of the people." It has to be taken in its entirety.

As I said, if you were truly a conservative, you would not be supportive of this activist court which is dismantling the Constitution piece by piece. I'll stick by my earlier assessment of you. You're an uninformed, Fox/hate talk radio groupie who parrots false talking points in the mistaken belief that it makes you a "conservative." You're not.

Why should a city be able to infringe on ANY civil right? You just can't pick and choose the ones you like. It's not just the military and law enforcement that can be armed. Back when it was written militias were the average Joe. As long as someone is of the age, not a felon and in this country legally why can't they have a hand gun? I have several. It's not the law abiding citizen that you have to worry about. It's the criminal and no law will impact them having guns. Self defense is a right both from criminals and the government as the law was intended.

Read the Second Amendment IN ITS ENTIRETY, squawks. Don't leave out the beginning. READ WHAT IT SAYS.

Once again, Limpy; when you say "we", who are you referring to?

      - your assorted dittoheads?
      - your Dominican "partners"?
      - the voices in your head?
