That was Obama's fault, of course. See, if it's bad, it is Obama's fault. Or Clinton's. Or Carter's. Nothing bad ever comes from any Republican.

Things were great in 2008 if you worked on Wall Street or for one of the Big Banks. You destroyed the middle class and managed to make a ton of money--for yourself.

Then you got the GOP party to fight Obama's regulation of your scams tooth and nail. With the help of the GOP, you can do it to us again, and make yourself even richer.

The sad thing is that many of my in-laws within about a week will all be telling me that there was no recession in 2008. They will be using the 2008 unemployment numbers to justify their claims and denying that they heard it on Limbaugh's show. The only response I can come up with is, "if the recession wasn't happening in 2008 why did Bush sign the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, and why was the economy the focus of the 2008 presidential campaign?" This man is a cancer, he's not trying to be funny or whatever it is that his followers say to justify his statements he's evil plain and simple.

The recession began at the end of 2007. Bush didn't ADMIT that there was a recession until a year later, but it was there.

There's a group that determines when a recession begins and ends, and that group didn't make a determination until December of 2008.

The National Bureau of Economic Research said Monday {December 1st} that the U.S. has been in a recession since December 2007, making official what most Americans have already believed about the state of the economy .

The NBER is a private group of leading economists charged with dating the start and end of economic downturns. It typically takes a long time after the start of a recession to declare its start because of the need to look at final readings of various economic measures.

The NBER said that the deterioration in the labor market throughout 2008 was one key reason why it decided to state that the recession began last year.

Which is exactly what I was saying, DellDolly. The recession, which most economists were recognizing, started in December 2007. Bush kept denying it. When the NBER released its report in December 2008 confirming the recession, it took Bush several days afterward to ADMIT it.

Although the indicators were all showing it, Bush and friends were really hoping the sh!t wouldn't really hit the fan until after the election.

Exactly. I can't tell you how many discussions I had with people during the late part of 07 and early 08 who INSISTED that the economy was JUST FINE. They saw the malls and restaurants TEEMING with people. Not sure what that had to do with the looming recession, but that's what I heard.

They were hoping the sh!t wouldn't hit the fan until after the INAUGURATION -- it would be one more thing, like the two wars, that Dumbya would just pass off to his successor . . .

        Additionally, I suppose the Dow dropping 777 points {the largest one-day drop in history} on Sept. 29, 2008 was just a fluke . . .

The economy was doing just fine. That's part of the reason President McCain was able to win the election.

National Bureau of Economic Research calls your bluff Rush - saying it began in December '07.

See, when you say "I wasn't hurting" - it was because you make more money in ten minutes than what most people make all year.

If it helps, why don't you just stick with telling the truth "the Recession started in December of 2007" - but say it was Clinton who caused the recession?
