Or how about writers getting big pay checks from newspapers doubling as media critics?

i don't care what they double as. i will google their name and find out if the have a horse in the race ( and usually do ) Like the judge that blocked the moratoriun on drilling in the gulf owns BP stock. The newsmedia must always identify the source and the affiliations or the news consumers will.

I wonder if this was the whole discussion of the issue on Kurtz' part or if he went into further detail. But given Kurtz' traditional lack of completeness, I'd say he probably got lazy and left it to his viewers to ponder for 5 or so seconds before they themselves got lazy about it.

Still, it addresses a valid point. Political agents are to Fox what hair-gel is to Sean Hannity. Everyone who reads the forums here knows this. But other networks flirt with agents too. CNN's guilt is documented partially in the clip shown here. As for MSNBC, as much as I think Olbermann is a good journalist, whenever he has Chris Kofinis or Howard Dean on his show, I skip over their interviews because I know what's coming.

I see a larger problem with creating the job of pundit panelist in the first place, when it's obvious every single one will spin everything the way they want it heard, and they're paid for it, too. It may not be on the scale of what Rush or Beck make but it's still basically big money for making no constructive contribution whatsoever.

Lil' Dickie Morris should have to do all interviews in his bare feet.
