as a former disgraced member of said religion, they absolutely do! they actually got into trouble for "baptizing" holocaust victims who parished during WWII. and there is a good chance that if they are allowed to continue, we all will become mormon on paper long after we're dead, against our wishes, and the wishes of our loved ones

I'm White. I am offended by what you're doing Beckie. You disgust me. I have been planning on being there since you announced this odious thing. I wonder how many lies you're telling? I wonder how many lies you will be telling! African Americans don't own Dr. King, they aren't even trying. But to call out to people to take back the Civil Rights movement from the main people it benefited and to return the country to a time when there were no civil rights for Blacks, Asians, Latinos, and women isn't restoring honor or the civil rights movement, it's restoring the KKK and all the other bigots who tried to stop King 50 years ago.

I'm still expecting a crowd, and it's D.C. in the summer, there will be tourists, too. The rally runs from 10:00-1:00.

Chris Matthews on John Mccain; "He's kind of like a Martin Luther. He's going back and reforming and finding the pure conservative movement".

Chris Matthews on Fred Thompson: "Can you smell the English leather on this guy, the Aqua Velva, the sort of mature man's shaving cream, or whatever, you know, after he shaved? Do you smell that sort of -- a little bit of cigar smoke? You know, whatever."

Chris Matthews on George W. Bush:

"He looks like he's a wise man now ... almost Atticus Finch"

"it's not always there, but sometimes it glimmers with this man, our president, that kind of sunny nobility."

"You know, I felt sensitive. I was with him last night, the president. We all went to see the president. You were there -- went to see the president for our Christmas. You get your picture taken with him. It's like Santa Claus, and he's always very generous and friendly."

Chris Matthews on Bush on Mission accomplished day:

"And that's the president looking very much like a jet, you know, a high-flying jet star. A guy who is a jet pilot. Has been in the past when he was younger, obviously."

"Here's a president who's really nonverbal. He's like Eisenhower. He looks great in a military uniform. He looks great in that cowboy costume he wears when he goes West. I remember him standing at that fence with Colin Powell. Was [that] the best picture in the 2000 campaign?"

              "Look at this guy!"

Are you actually claiming LIBERALS are easily distracted when YOU'RE the one who can never stay on topic? Hey B.C., here's a challenge for you- explain to me why Beck- a man who, IN HIS OWN WORDS, admits he has NO black friends because he himself thinks his words would offend them- is so obsessed with claiming the heritage of MLK. (Of course, I don't expect you to take up the challenge- that would require both balls and brains, and you've clearly established you have neither.)

His voice sounds funny. I think he's a bit scared of the Black Panthers. And it's a false equivalency to say that blacks don't own MLK in the same way whites don't own the founders. The founders owned MLK's ancestors as property. MLK struggled to end the legacy of that system and the Jim Crow laws that followed. It is a travesty for a rich white man to tell blacks such a thing. I hope lots of black civil rights groups and their white supporters show up and non-violently drown out Beck's rich white bagger brigade.

Good lord. Are the people on this site so hateful that they cannot look beyond differences to enjoy a good thing? I said the oil leak in the gulf is capped "for now". They are attempting to relieve the pressure and prevent more oil from leaking into the gulf. It looks like it is working right now. I am watching it on a live camera feed. I just keep getting mean unwarranted comments. What is wrong with you? Do you have no morals? Relax and enjoy this news for a few minutes. Take a deep breath. There is plenty of time in the future for brutal attacks.

Implying that BP is guilty of predatory practices is not a "brutal attack", princess. I agree it's a universally good thing if the leak's been stopped, but get off the cross for a second.

Is your obtuseness intentional? For your sake and the sake of those who depend on you for sustinence, I sure hope so.

Oh boo-freaking-hoo you nasty piece of work, you come in to troll and add your voice to the madness of the right and you represent everything that is wrong with America. And now you want to have a friendly conversation about BP doing what it should have done 2 months ago?

You have no business talking to anyone on this site about "mean unwarranted comments" and I would ask, what is wrong with YOU?

Look at your picture of our President you posted above and ask yourself about your own morals, you hypocritial snake.

Actually, I heard that report an hour before on another network.

Oh, and the word is "pray."

"Own MLK"?? Again Beck? The word "own" is an unfortunate choice of a word here, packed with historical meaning, given that our white founders founded a slave colony.

Beck had a Freudian slip. His subconscious is attempting to reown MLK in order to control his threatening discursive power as a black civil rights leader. To Beck, MLK is symbolic of the runaway slave. At the August event at the same spot and on the same day MLK gave his most powerful speech, Beck will engage in wish fulfillment: He will capture and reclaim MLK as the symbolic property of the rich white male landowners, who constitute the majority of the teabaggers that will be there cheering him on.

MLK will be symbolically put back in his place.
