I generally try to determine who doesn't have God on their side by listening to who crows about having God on their side. Bad luck, there, Becky.

I know many progressives who are quite religious. I know a few libertarians who are atheists. Who exactly is this rant directed at?

I'm a passionate, if flawed, follower of Christ and I have no idea what Beck the Hateful is talking about.

I specifically have no idea what he means when he decries "collective salvation"...of course that's not a Christian thing, but it wasn't ever used in those terms so far as I know. It means helping people have the opportunity to live free - this is what Beck wants too! It's not "soul" salvation. It's life-liberty-pursuit-of-happiness salvation.

Acts 2:44-5: (describing the early church) And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and they sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all, according as any man had need.

      Freaking demonic commie finks!

Yeah, that's the one Gospel passage you will abso-frekin'lutely never hear at an evangelical "church". So, Glenn, how's that biblical literal inerrancy thingy going now?...

Only someone who doesn't understand the concept of God would ever suggest that God was on someone's side or not on someone's side.

God doesn't get involved in pi$$ing contests.

A lot of horror has come about when men believed that God was on their side.

God led the Civil Rights movement, huh? I don't quite understand what you mean by collective salvation and what the Pope said about politics trying to get into religion. I don't think that you speak for God, Glennie, and I think that voice in your head that you think is God, is anything but heavenly.

According to Wikipedia, between 1962-1968, Roger Ailes worked in local TV in Cleveland and Philidelpia, starting out first in the props department and moving up to producer of the Mike Douglas Show. He might have met Dr. King there, if MLK was a guest. But, by 1968, the year that King died, he was also working on the Nixon campaign, trying to make the stiff and anti-social Nixon more likeable. His antics were chronicaled by Sarah Palin's favorite write, Joe McGinnis in the book "The Selling of the President 1968". How any of this advanced Civil Rights and aided Dr. King, I don't know.

Beck sounds like a total fruitcake. If this is what conservative America sounds like today, W.F. Buckley must be spinning in his grave. I used to be a Republican, and call myself conservative, (it was a long long time ago), but now is this all they can serve up? It was getting too thin for me years ago, but now they are utterly threadbare. Wow. Too funny. And sad. Very very sad.

Messiah complex is right on the mark! It's as if Glenn has some special enlightened monopoly on the "truth", and his opinions are automatically superior to anyone with a dissenting viewpoint. If you are even slightly left of Beck, you are a traitor and an enemy.

From what I remember of the Bible--Isn't being African considered a curse? (See Curse of Ham) Aren't there directions for keeping slaves?
I thought Jesus died for everyones sins (collectively)....even Beck said he died for those from the begining of time to now and beyond...Hmmm Collective Salvation anyone?

Its not a question of who has God on their side, its a question of who perverts the virtues of charity for others into government forcibly taking the peoples' money to use as they see fit, leading to us to "collective salvation". This concept is what motivates Barack Obama's every move, and goes back to his first days of learning Reverand Wright's version of Christianity, aka Marxism.

Some people say that oranges are evil. I don’t know if they are evil, and I’m not saying they are. But someone needs to ask these questions. Where’s the main stream media? Why aren’t they looking into this?
I don’t want you to just take my word for these things, I want you to do your homework.
Apples are round, check this out, apples are round. We’ve researched this and we’ve found that oranges are round as well. We’re the only channel looking into this. Why do you think that is?
But it doesn’t stop there, apples and oranges are both……fruit!
Apples are round and oranges are round, and both fruit…….apples are oranges!
Now progressives and the mainstream media will tell you that oranges are orange. That’s what they do, that’s the plot, the plan. They distract you with color and call you fruitiest. I’ve looked, I don’t see any fruitists at the picnics. Do you? Oh yes, look at all the mad rampant fruitists! They want to take your fruit, our children our grandchildren with be left fruitless. This is not what our founding fathers wanted, this is not god’s plan.

If Beck believes that "God is our shield", and that government is "demonic" when it tries to do God's job, then he must think the US Military is grade-A demonic.

Why does Beck hate the military?

You're absolutely right about one progressive, Glenda. I don't have God on my side. I have Him in my heart and in every fiber of my being, and this guides my actions.

Quoting the Pope when speaking of government - "when it wishes to do the work of God it becomes not divine, but demonic."

Remember when the Democrats were against George Bush's "faith based initiative"? They were correct to be against it.

Why are they now mixing religion and politics?

Especially Nancy Pelosi, whose new favorite word is "the word" and talking about things like passing cap and trade as way to take care of the earth and do God's work

And now topics like "social justice" and "collective salvation". I didnt like it when GW tried to mix religion and politics and I dont like it now either.

Beck is presenting some good facts in all this. The Pope's quote should get your attention...Beck said that "those" (espousing this idea of collective salvation) are not our enemies, they are drawing lines against the very love of GOD. So, stop creating GOD in your own image. Learn who HE is. Your beef is with Glen Beck? No, he's just the target of your anger. It's GOD you are not ok with yet. He's ready to introduce you to a new life free of political labels. A living belief and committment to GOD crosses all political beliefs.

Everything Beck is saying is accurate and I have been saying it for years in the horrible halls of academia--and I am a liberal dem! Why do you think teaching is now done in a circle rather than in front of a chalkboard? It's a 60s code to redistribute wealth, but the poor in the US will ALSO have their poverty funds reverted to third world countries. The bottom line is that freedom will suffer for decadent political correctness and corruption the result. When the Republicans get in, which is inevitable, they will have mega-investigations and there goes Tracy Chapman's "Revolution." It was misguided in the first place. You don' t defeat the "oppressor" by replacing "him" with another oppressor-in this case, women and minorities.
